Yes it works that way, if you'd read the thread, you'd have seen a few explanations on why this is the case.

(Specifically there's some significant information another person that isn't the player himself can't get access to like talents)

You need Threat-1.0 to show up in the list. You need Omen to see the list. Threat-1.0 comes with Omen by default.

So if you arent interested in the aggro list, but want others to know your threat you need Threat-1.0 installed. (Or just install Omen and dont look at it :p)

Love Omen so far, and we've been trying it out with KTM as backup. However, our MT has 2 issues with it so far.

EDIT: We figured out the bar color problem, it was due to him still running KTM. He'd still like a way to bold his actual threat bar, text and all so it is more visible. I think he's a bit of am Adonis when it comes to his TPS!

I remember there being an option to color the player's bar, but this seems to have disappeared from the current release. Great job, it's looking like exactly what we could have asked for ourselves!

The tiny arrows are awfully hard to see. Any chance for easier recognizable indicators? Also why does the list clear and rebuilt itself every once in a while?

Just right-click any bar (including your own) to change its individual color, texture, or height. You can make bars you're interested in a lot more visible.

Use Right Click -> Show Test Bars to see 'em out of combat.

I dont know if this was mentioned before but on lady Vashj yesterday i noticed that if i feigndeathed and it got resisted (in phase1 so only Vashj was there) my Omen would still reset my treat. I'm not sure how you'd catch a resist but i believe KTM manages (correct me if im wrong)

I got the following error with it today:

Interface\Addons\Omen\OmenThreatBar.lua: 305: attempt to index local 'p' (a nil value)

with version 39359 (threat 39311)

I was messing around with the pullout threat bar trying to figure out how it works. Ended up clicking on our MT (who was using KTM, and we were a group of trash mobs) and seeing it wasn't what I wanted, I hit the option to get rid of the bar, I think it was simply Remove. After hitting that, the bar disappeard, and that error popped up, and wouldn't go away no matter how many times I smashed "ok." I ended up just disabling lua errors and after that everything seemingly worked fine.

Not a big issue but is there a way to fix the percentage that the Aggro bar is calculated at? I just glance at the bar normally to see if Im close but on Nightbane the bar was at 130%. Im guessing that because he has a large hitbox and I was outside the normal melee range. (5 yards?)

Another thing to note that we found out tonight was that the engineer adviser on Kael was bugging out a lot, causing the meter to clear and rebuild itself. I don't know the exact mechanics which would be causing this, but it was an up side to Phase 1 to watch the pretty light shows every time he came up.

Also, we were seeing some strange numbers form Shadow Priests still, building aggro much faster than previously shown on KTM. Any thoughts on how precise their threat is as of now?

CheckInteractDistance(UnitID, 3) means <= 10 yards and you get 110%. Distance > 10 yards and 130%

Maybe babblespell checking works better?

I still get the Comms error when I use the threat-reset function you posted a few pages back. Have you looked into this at all?

Both stun and fear counts as CC in this regard. I have done enough tanking on my druid to confirm this. Uhm ... k?

As a healer ... this doesn't match up with reality.

Engage a pack. Have the warrior thunderclap on the mobs only, then drop a warlock 18 second fear. Rip the rest of the pack apart, and have the priest / druid / paladin / shaman heal the group through it.

Feared mob will come straight to the healer. Will not pass go, will not collect $200. Healing aggro while feared most definitely matters.

In a similar way, pull one mob from a pack and trap it in a hunter trap. Pull it with an autoshot only, and then have your healer spam a bunch of heals. Trap breaks, goes right to the healer, every time.

I'm not sure about Banish, it seems to be a little different.

The only time I've had mobs run to the healers after trapping is when I've feigned while they were in the trap.

As such, I'd speculate that the mob is going to the healers back either a) you had some threat from before the mob went into the trap, and the feigning hunter has put you to the top of the list or b) the trap breaks, healer lands a heal, mob goes for healer because hunter feigned.

I don't know much about how threat works, certainly not healing threat. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure you can generate healing threat on a mob that is in a freezing trap.

If mobs in traps generated healing aggro, I'm sure I would have lost my healer on every single Shattered Halls run that involved a Hunter. Either that, or all my hunters make sure they have solid aggro on trapped mobs.

Both feared and trapped mobs don't gain threat from healers - i've tanked in enough instances with hunters to know and every time fears run out on Roar in the Oz event in KZ he comes after me due to my paltry 5-10 seconds of aggro building at the very start, no matter the length of the fight. Theres no way he'd stay on me if he was gaining healing threat whilst feared.

Can't comment on stuns for sure but i'd hedge a bet its the same.

For pull out threat bar... perhaps some form of feedback it was successful...

I pulled out a threat bar and the menu didn't close, so I assumed nothing happened, nothing appeared on screen... etc. I repeated this a half dozen times using the test bars and decided maybe it only works in combat....

So I ran out and whacked a wolf... and saw the threat bar appear... so I drug it.... and it's 6 friends til I ran out .

Perhaps make the newly pulled threat bar appear for 10 seconds so you can move it or what not?

When we were learning this fight, the healers would pull aggro on Roar after about the 4th fear (he'd come out of fear and come over to the priest, instead of going back to the tank). We solved this by having the tank stack 5 sunders, then fearing. He never came back after this.

If you have Salv, and you heal something in a raid setting, it distributes the highly reduced threat amongst all active mobs. This includes, AFAIK, trapped ones. It's a lot harder to see in such a setting, because the threat is small per heal.

I *have* grabbed aggro from a mob that was in a trap, such that it came out and came for me. Usually, yes, it goes for the hunter ... because any good hunter pulls the mob with a distracting shot and at least two auto shots, equiv to 3 or 4 sunders of threat before it hits the trap. It's hard to out-threat that with heals, but it IS doable. And I've done it. Usually it's near the end of the pull, where there's a mob left, and something will come out of a trap and rip me apart.

I'll get a hunter friend tomorrow and confirm this, but I'm almost positive trapped mobs accumulate threat. Since there are multiple mobs, and the threat is smallish (healing threat, that is), you may not notice it much, but as a healer, I've definitely seen something happen that can most easily be described as "in a trap, accumulate threat".

Ideal test is to get two mobs, pull them, sic the hunter pet on one, and trap the other, while the priest does nothing. Ideally, pull it into the trap with nothing more than body aggro. Spam a bunch of heals, and wait for the trap to wear off. If it goes for the hunter still, then no threat accumulated (since the hunter can generate 0 threat to a mob while it is in a trap, since all hunter threat generating moves are active -- pew-pew -- as far as I know). If it goes for the healer, then healing aggro accumulated. To make it interesting, make sure the healer does a lot of healing while it's trapped -- let the pet get beat on, and land a couple of 4k heals.

========================

Rough Theorycraft on Roar:
- threat on Sunder x5 in defensive stance + paltry auto-attack threat
- threat generated per point of healing, with salv and all -threat reducers in talent trees, distributed amongst (say) all 5 characters in Wizard of Oz -- Tinman, Scarecrow, Dorothy, Toto, and Roar. Two of these are stunned or feared almost constantly, but let's assume for sake of argument that the threat goes to them as well, in equal proportion

Sunder = 301 threat. Assume Defensive Stance, and Defiance, so 437 threat per application. 2182 threat from sunders, call it another 700 from white damage done and random abilities used while landing those 5 sunders, so a nice round 3000 threat.

To produce 3000 threat on Roar, I would have to (with Silent Resolve, Subtlety Enchant, and BoS) do:

3000 / 0.8 / 0.98 / 0.7 / 0.5 * 5 = 55 000 healing.

It's a LOT of healing to out-aggro 3000 threat. A LOT. Assuming GH:7 spam, which hits for 5.1k, I'd have to heal 11 of those before I'd pull aggro. And I wouldn't do that in Oz. There's just not enough damage incoming to justify it.

But if you drop it down to nothing more than body aggro ... Roar comes out, runs at you, you sunder him once and hit fear ... that's maybe 600 threat. And that could be out-threated by 11k healing, which would happen fairly fast, assuming people made mistakes. Now, mostly in Phase 1 Oz, once you know the fight, there's almost no healing - a little bit as Tinman gets slowed, a little bit to top up Dorothy frostbolts. But very very little as compared to a boss fight. So most people would never notice.

/end theorycraft

I would like to see actual hard testing on this before saying either way. My tests were before 2.0, admittedly, but were positive that healing didn't generate threat through Banish, Seduce, and Polymorph. I would be surprised if traps were an exception.

I'd really like to see this tested in a controlled environment -- back then, many people swore up and down that their healers on Garr generated threat through Banish, but no testing in the world would back it up.

I verified that feared mobs still ignore healing threat half a month ago.

Regarding Roar - he runs around quite some time without being feared (since he usually runs out through the doors and out of line of sight), which is why it is a good idea to build some threat on him.

Just for reference, this is an incorrect statement. Threat-1.0 is not a LOD addon. If you have it installed, its running unless disabled from the addon screen. Omen is just one GUI for it and doesn't control it.
