Yeah, SanityBags development is on hold while I do Threat/Omen. I, uh, have development ADD sometimes.
TheKarn made some patches to the tokenizer recently, but I haven't tested them out myself. For now, assume it's broken till I'm back on the project, I guess.
(Sorry I haven't been updating this! 100% of my dev time is going into Threat right now)

Is it worth, to switch from baggins (got some errors with editing categories today) to this mod, what are the improvments ?

As you may or may not have noticed from the posts prior to yours, it has powerful filters and customization that other mods don't offer. It is just a very beta release and some big things need fixing.
It's still "good enough" for me right now; the tokenizer problems bother me about as much as the lack of features in other mods, so it's a wash.

It works just well enough that I'd rather use it over normal bags or anything else, and is broken just enough that every day I sigh and think about just going back to using normal bags.

There are really only 1-2 things that frustrate me (new items into bags is #1, tokens #2). However, my reaction is that I wish I had the time to poke at the code and look for something to offer helpfully. My lua-fu is pretty weak though, and catching up to the level that Antiarc writes at is something I can't find time for.

Tried it last night since I'm really giving up on the onebag approach (what a mess..).
The concept is great. I do not mind spending time to define my own filters to get something nice and practical in the end. 10mins configuration time to save a couple of seconds each time I open my bags in the game is quite worthwhile..
However, it's still bug ridden:
- docking just isn't working
- online docs/help is wrong (ex. !name:poison will work while name:!poison won't)
- very laggy (try to keep your bags open when crafting...)
- items still end up in the wrong bag, especially when using tooltip or quality filters (my quest items bag is never complete and the trash bag ends up with only part of the grey trash)
When the bugs will be corrected, I just can't imagine using any other bag addon Well except one for the bank junk of course..

The real issue with the docking is that when I drag 2 bag windows near each other, WoW actually freezes for 3-5 seconds, and twice has completely locked up.

Hrm. It shouldn't be able to lock up - I have a check in there to make sure that it doesn't try to recursively dock bags. I'll add it to the list to look at...eventually. :P

Newbie question here : I have Pitbull (frames), bartender3 (obvious) and sanity bags (obvious use too). So let's say I have nothing left of the standard UI (not even the minimap). How can I view my keys then? With Onebag, I had a possibility of seeing the keys by clicking on an icon. With Sanity Bags, I can't find a way to access the keychain.

bartender3 has an option to show the keyring if you use the bag bar.

The only thing that's keeping me from switching to this mod when it becomes more stable is the lack of bag buttons for the virtual bags. I'm one of those people who HATE right click menus for things other than configuring addons, so having to use one to get what bag I want open is very irritating.
To help solve this, I'd love to see 'bag buttons' implimented in a manner similiar to the current addon I use (Advanced Bags).
Basically it takes your normal 5 bag slots (4 bags + backpack) lets you change the icon used, and bind each button to a filter bag. Then gives you a customizable 'bag bar' that can be anywhere from 1 item wide to 12 items wide and has 6 pages (exactly like the default action bar).
Here's a screensot to help illustrate my point (parts inside the red rectangles):
Normal bags (left to right):
Quest Items
Equipment
Consumables
Misc Gear
Main Bag (catch all unfiltered)
Bag bar bags (left to right):
Trade Goods (all trade goods not used in alchemy)
Herbalism Bag (all herbs, and alchemy mats)
As you can see, there are arrows on the bag bar bag that let it switch pages.
On the other pages I have things like:
Resist Gear, Tokens, Poisons, Reagents, etc. etc. All the stuff I don't use all the time, but want easy access to.
Just thought I'd throw it out there as advanced bags is no longer in active development and is probably going to be broken sooner or later.

Don't use the addon myself (I use onebag) but would imagine simply defining a key binding would get you around it (I use CTRL-K).

One funny note, i can't seem to be able to break stacks of items with sanity bags by pressing shift, has this been altered somehow? If so, what is the hotkey :P Thanks.

Has Antiarc said anything about coming back to Sanity when Omen reached a stable level? Sounds like a two and two make six type conclusion.

Which seems to indicate he has plans to continue development of the Sanity suite when Threat and Omen are largely finalized.

Playing with this mod at the moment and I'm still not sure if it can do what I've been looking for forever in a bag mod:
The ability to divide my inventory into a series of user-defined bags usable just like the normal Blizzard bags, no fancy auto-sorting category/rule/etc. crap.
I have the feeling ArkInventory could do it, but I just can't figure it out.

AS of 3.0 this add-on is sadly nearly unusable as the bank window will not open. Typing /run BankFrame:Show() will bring up the bank. However this is a royal pain every time you visit a banker, and even after this the bankframe does not show up correctly. I love the look of this mod as well as the basis behind it. Of all the bag mods I've tried its the only one I can stand. I really hope the author comes back to it soon :-D

For a replacement, give ArkInventory a try. The UI is a bit different, but it is fairly easy to set up a working set of filters.
Also, keep an eye on FBagOfHolding coming out with a 3.0 update. I have no clue if it will, but it was one of the best of the filterable bag addons - the filter creation UI was outstanding. Drag and drop!

Thankyou for FBagOfHolding works great and the filter creation is amazingly intuitive. The new 0.9b version is wrath compatible.

There was an update recently, and the mod seems to work pretty well. Not as well as it once did, but still serves my text searching needs. Antiarc has a lot more on his plate right now, so can't really blame him for not keeping it up to date.
