The Overrated case was more than obvious to track, and was pure exploiting, where as someone who wants to be a different race doesn't exactly cause much harm to the game (at all.)

It may sound stupid but if you change for example a Tauren with a 2H staff to a gnome with a 2H staff, the former gets stuck sometimes in door frames, the latter wont. Now while THAT is harmless, there are houndreds of situations where modelchanging does alter the game in a more relevant fashion.
It is exploiting, no matter how minor your change is. It changes client behavior. And it gives you a perma-ban without recourse if you get caught.
If it were only an optical fun thing to do, well cool, but as it is, I wouldn't post anything about it at all and especially not advertise its use. It's game changing and it's exploiting. You get banned. I think not much more need to be said.
