examiner - like superinspect but about 1/5th the size.

they were mentioned, but NECB and itemrack are both totally indispensable for me.

Does this one still work? People in the comments field are asking for udpates and it hasn't been updated in a while (I'm going to assume the 37 years, 6 months time for the last update isn't accurate ).

Yeah, it's very old but still works fine. It might require a manual change to the .toc to get it running in 2.1 but that's all.

CombatStats: the best "personal DPS"/damage breakdown display I've found. This helped me track my decreasing miss % as I stacked more and more +hit gear.
Have you tried KombatStats (which has a Fu_ plugin as well that requires the non-Ace mod)
If you use itemrack, trinketmenu is redundant.

posted it at work. I wasn't going to be browsing curse gaming with the massive world of warcraft icons plastered all over it.

Examiner is nice and I was getting tired of SuperInspect, thanks!

And whoever gave me negative rep for starting this "silly thread" please go kill yourself promptly.

It is a rather silly thread, people should use what they want restricting or purposely using non-Ace2 mods is just as bad as only using Ace2 mods.

Way to completely miss the point of the thread, probably by not reading the original post. This isn't to force use of a non-Ace2 addon where an Ace2 will do - it's to point out awesome Addons that are missed simply because they aren't Ace2, which is quite easy for someone like me who very rarely visits a non-Ace addons site anymore.

First off, you don't need to flame theres other ways to get a point across.

Addon sites do have categories/search, and people get along just fine until the last 8-12 months when Ace2 started to "take over", and they found mods just fine without needing a single thread listing it all of them.

Chances are if theres no Ace2 version of an addon that someones looking for, they'll look it up on WoWInterface, Whatever WoWar is now called and CG, if they purposely don't look for the mod because it doesn't exist on the AceSVN, then you're restrictioning yourself to only Ace2 mods and my original point still applies.

Resources site are there for a reason, Ace doesn't have to be the only way to get addons.

Is there an updated version of that available? I used to use it pre-BC because I liked the miss breakdown it had, but I was never able to find an updated version of it after 2.0.

If you use the FuBar one, /ks hide gets rid of the other.

Great mod, I've been looking for a replacement for SuperInspect for ages!
Link for the lazy

Lunarsphere is a great replacement for Arcanum or Cryolysis for a mage, Necrolysis for a lock, or any other class that likes the functionality of these mods but does not have an option for their class.

I do personally find this thread to point out some very cool and helpful addons I wouldn't have known about otherwise. I'm of course not actively searching for new addons any more, as I'm basically happy with my UI as it is, but this thread (and others like it) have pointed out the existence to me of mods which basically do what something else I already had does, but do so in a way which far more suits me, which I would have missed otherwise.

I think that also works out well for this thread in particular; due to the very nature of Ace2 there tends to be a certain uniformity to the Ace addons. If it's an addon involving timers, if it's Ace2, nine out of ten times you can count on it using timer bars since CandyBars is a popular option for that. While from non-Ace mods there's a larger variety of ways things are displayed usually. That's what I mostly view this thread as; finding alternatives for Ace2 mods which may fit how you want your UI to look better, or in some cases simply some mods which are too small to be Ace'd, and also too small to look specifically for, which turn out to be very useful when someone points out they exist.

Forecast: This is an addon every healer in my guild uses. It shows incomming casts on your target (that is, if other people have the addon too) as well as incomming casts on you. The lead healers of my guild love using this addon to spot out who is not doing their job, who is paying attention, and who is just sitting there clicking a button wasting mana.

PricePer (on WoWAce) does a similar thing; I recently converted from PriceEach to PricePer, because I got bored with hacking the .toc of the former each new patch. PricePer lacks the ability to hide the stack calculations for the 'bid' price, but there's a patch floating around on the WoWAce forums to add that ("/priceper showbid").
