With the advent of the expansion and flying mounts, and numerous ways to be dismounted, I see Parachute Cloaks (and the Skyguard reputation equivalents) as a means of insurance from a very long fall to one's death.

However, current item equipment management mods seem to still adopt the traditional approach of switching back to your previous gear set once you are no longer mounted, which creates a problem when you are trying to click the cloak due to a nasty dragon dismount, or Skettis bird, or you name it.

So the question is this: what automated UI solution do you use to ensure that your slow fall cloak does not get switched out when you need it the most?

I've tried a five second delay on ItemRack with auras, and much to my amusement, despite successfully clicking the cloak, the gear set was still swapped out five seconds later. Now one solution may be to disable the mount script itself, and no longer unequip a mount set on dismount, but that seems to be the most annoying option.

Any ideas?

Pop a Noggenfogger on the way down and hope for the best ...

No? Use Itemrack and create a mounted set, bind it to a key and bind your normal gear to another key.

For example, I use \ as my dps set key, ] as my tanking set and [ for mounted with variations (pvp set, resist sets, fishing set, etc).

If you are forcefully dismounted, by a bird or dragon, you enter combat. therefore the cloak doesnt get switched out. No problem?
Create a set with your Riding Crop and the Skyguard cloak with the name "Mount" in ClosetGnome for example and you wont have any problems.

Ah, but if you get forcefully dismounted by a dragon say in Blade's Edge, you aren't put in combat.

Either i missed something or they need to have a "do_player_dismount", because nothing beside combat can dismount you unless you click the dismount button or do any action with "dismount on action" enabled in the ui settings.

There are several things on the Blades Edge Plateaus that can dismount you without putting you in combat. All 4 of the dragons have aerial attacks if you fly too close to them and the cannons in the forge camps can dismount you with their fel flack, none of which puts you in combat.

Additionally when getting knocked off the netherdrake mounts by one of the fel orc racers (captain Skyshatter et al) there is no combat pulse, you just drop to your death.
