Would you mind being a little more verbose? Having not used flexbar or discord I have no idea what happened.

ok so flexbar really stood for its name, was most flexible bar mod like 2 years ago, but everything had to be tweaked by hand commands, but nethertheless it was great. Later on Discord mods came out ( www.discordmods.com) but since its creator left the mods half a year ago, now most of them are broken.
DAB (DiscordActionBars) used to be best action bar mod ever created and it still would be if it was bug free and updated for 2.1. U can do just about anything u can imagine with bars, for example change alpha on some event, change action ID on event and so on and on. I used to have 1 button to change to Battle stance, then to Overpower and when Overpowerd is used back to Berserk stance, ofcourse it could be done with macros and stuff, but well thats just an example.

From what I understand a lot of what made DAB great is no longer possible.
A better way to ask what you're asking would be "How do I do X?", where X is a very specific thing.
For example you say you want some "Floaters", I can only interpret this to mean a small group of buttons placed independently of the rest of your bars. You can very easily make a small clump of buttons with Bartender that you can position anywhere on the screen using the "Buttons" and "Rows" sliders for each individual bar, and put it anywhere you like.

i know what u mean, but this is really far away from what i need... bartender alters bars for stancing, so when i use 4 bars, only i actulay use 7, which makes only 3 available for my needs and i need dozens of buttons all around the screen means i need dozens more bars to make it be a one button... i also want them to scale and change alpha when in combat out of combat, appear when in combat and disapear while not and appear BIG button in middle of my screen when ever i get really low on HP etc etc...

I do believe Flexbar has been updated, although I can't find it on Wowace anymore.
http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=5100.0 is the Flexbar topic.
You could also check out Infinibar on wowace.com

If you've got the time to learn it, MarsBar was pretty powerful, last I saw.

I'm a big fan of trinitybars but it's a little buggy. I tried bartender and didn't like it and trinity was the closest thing to dab I could find in BC.

Everything works for nonfunctional buttons (think KTM, or DMs) like it did before. If you don't want to do anything to the base game via a click everything works.
The best rule of thumb for what is broken is: You cannot change while in combat what clicking in a specific pixel of your screen does. Buttons can get larger but you can only press the same middle of them, ect.
I believe the combat stance bars are the only signifcant exception to this rule.

Depends, you probably need to be more specific about what you wanted the button to do.

Buttons appearing when you enter combat does work, as the security lockdown is applied after the event for entering combat is triggered.

One thing that I loved about DAB was its ability to toggle bars on keypress. So instead of having to rely on more addons, for portals, certain buffs, conjuring, and other, typically OOC, actions, I could just hit a button, and they'd appear there.
I'm using Bartender atm, and have 24 static buttons on the right side of my screen, some for portals, others for conjuring, etc. You can reduce the space requirement alot by macros (left click for portal, right for teleport, etc), but 24 buttons is still very limited, as I put my OOC spells there, as well as my consumables.

Use Geist on top of Bartender, it gives you 25 buttons you can toggle with a key to turn on and off. I use this for my portals, food/water/gems, tradeskills, buffs. That would free up two more bars if you need them.

At Teenee
Alternatively (and I use Bartender3), I simply use bar switching to "hide" my OOC buttons, that is:
Whilst I press SHIFT my bar 1 "switches" to Bar 2 where all my "buffs" are held.
Whilst I press ALT my bar 3 "switches" to Bar 3 where all my portals, teleports, HS sit.
Whilst press CTRL my .... you get the idea
Means that during combat only the buttons I need to see are visible.

bartender's stance and button switching bugs out for me sometimes, albeit very rarely, and has left me in pvp staring at a bar of useless crap and no way to fix it without a reloadui. just a forewarning. trinity has a couple of .lua errors but never major bugs like that in my experience.

FlexBar used to be the single most flexible and imho best Barmod out there, bar none (pun inteded).
It really struck when the 2.0 WOW API made most of it's functions useless. It's technically not broken, but most of it's event handlers and triggers aren't allowed anymore. Such as some of the request of the OP.
I had everything "flexed" and I really miss that kind of functionality...
For now I have settled with Bartender3. It's simple, efficient, easy to setup. Not much to it.

Sounds interesting, I'll look into it as soon as I am at home. Thanks for the advice.
However the problem remains that Blizz blocked most of the eventtriggers (for lack of better term...you get the idea, no?) as of late, therefore ist not actually a problem, but more of a WOW API problem.

I would recommend taking a peek at Bongos. I used to use Discord as well and while I haven't quite got all the functionality back into my bars, I much prefer Bongos to Bartender. You can't do all the things with buttons you used to be able to, but you can easily set up different bars for battle/zerker/defensive stance and hide them, and have Bongos swap out which bar it pulls up based on what stance you're in. Something like that that the default ui can do is definately still possible, while many of the "if ______ then make my action bars do ______" changes aren't anymore.

Well i can't see why Bartender can't do the things you mentioned here. I'm a warrior and it changes bars (or pages, can't remember) while stance dancing and it never ever bugged for me, but bongos did, just after 2.1 update (bongos was updated too) i tried it and it didn't change my button icons, though the actions did, so if i was in zerg stance and switch to battle, the pictures of skills were still from zerg stance bar, but the actions they did was battle stance so it was quite odd, though i rarely look at them so it wasn't any difference for me.
Oh and btw, i think bartender is easier to configure, but thats just my opinion
