Have tried searchign the forum but to no avail. Does anyone know of a mod that will alert me when I am counterspelled.

I have a very minimalistic ui and as such when I get counterspelled on my alt warlock, I am left spamming my buttons wondering what has happened. I used to use a mod called cooldown which, when kicked/silenced would put all those spells on cooldown and spread across my screen. This was very useful however I don't use this mod anymore (there are much better ones out there for monitoring cooldowns) and as such I am really missing some kind of visual representation of a silence/spell school lockout that is clear and obvious.

I think Quartz has a module that does just that. It's in the WoWAce archives.

SCT will give a large message in the center of your screen when you get countered. Doesnt' specify school though.

What's really annoying for me, is that when I get countered my casting bar continues as if I wasn't countered. I find this generally confusing and frustrating.

Anyone know of a mod that actually STOPS your casting bar when you're counterspelled? (Quartz I'm guessing?)

Quartz will turn red and stop, IIRC.

PowerAuras can be configured to do all sorts of crazy stuff to alert you when you're silenced.

I am using Quartz but I am after something maybe that shows a countdown on how long the counterspell debuff is on for?

Currently I get a message saying (for example) 'Drain life Interrupted'. However it doesn't say how long my school is locked for.

So I have to look at my debuff bar to see how long is on the counterspell/kick/earthshock etc before I can start casting again. What I would ideally like is to see somehting clearly on how long I am being shut out of my schools for.

I am having to look over at my debuffs list, and in the heat of a fight this isn't always a great thing, I have a widescreen monitor and all my pertinent info is right in the middle of the screen, and I find it awkward to look all the way over to the left to see a debuff (of which there could be numerous and the counterspell/spell lock may not be instantly obvious).

I am thinking of going back to 'cooldown' as it spammed all my locked spells across my screen showing me instantly how long until I could use them again. But I would prefer something a little more up to date.

Anyone using such a mod?

All you want is a visual indicator that this or this school is locked ?
Why don't you just make visible one bar with 2 or 3 spells belonging to the different schools you can use , that's minimal and simple...

Omnicc or any cooldown mod will show a timer when you get locked out.

I guess nobody listens for this stuff anymore 8(

For visual cues power aura's is going to be the most obvious, though I believe ECB turns red (or whatever) and cuts out when you're countered.

I'd have to poke around in my logs but I've got another mod (Cooldowncount?) that spams the integer cooldowns ON the buttons themselves. So I can just get a visual cue that oops that was shadow (though if you're listening, you shouldn't need a visual cue to know what just got locked ).

Thanks guys, I don't have many bars visible (everything I do is bound and memorised). The only thing I have visable is a small bar for food and drink. And having timers on a bar isn't something I want to rely on (as I am used ot not looking at them). Power Auras was installed last night, I haven't sorted it yet, I will tinker with it tonight.

I've actually looked for a mod that would announce to group, say, raid (whatever) when I got interrupted (and preferably what spell I was casting). Seen this anywhere?

I was actually running Heroic Underbog with a friend of mine a few days ago and that very idea came up. Since then I've been looking off-and-on for something similar and just finally gave up. At this point, I'm doing some reading to understand if it's even feasible (I'd imagine since we have all sorts of mods that deal with cooldowns) and then just sitting down and writing it myself.

Avion is pretty sweet if you just want a dumb indicator that you can't do something. You can define a quasi-transparent texture to show up when you get silence debuffs. I use this one:
