One trick is to use an ability that isnt related to the encounter to mark the start and end of the encounter and then dig the data between manually.
I find it strange that there isn't a mod (afaik) that would copy or store the combatlog internally for editing. I've started to move the log every day after either an encounter or at the end of the day to a different directory so the log won't blow up to hundreds of megs.

I've started to move the log every day after either an encounter
When you do this do you log out? If not, how do you get around the locked nature of the combatlog?

LOLOL, i ot so excited, i dl'd this and went to test my dot up percentage (LOVE THIS FEATURE)

well, went to boom, and messed around so long, i killed him

about to use this in TK tonight, so lets see how this does in 25 man raiding

Ok tested it out tonite and it's double counting Spirit of Redemption as deaths. Once priest dies he pops into angel ability, then he'll 'die' again after it's done. It's counting it once when initial death and again after SoR kicks off

The combatlog exhibits the same behavior and always has. You'll see double messages if you have the death notifications turned on as well (i.e. Priest has died then 10 seconds later Priest has died again.) Not sure if there is any way to fix it or any need.

Its something I like to fix basically takes me checking a few seconds later for spirit of redemption buff.

I need to do something useless.

I love how this has developed. One thing I noticed though is when I click on someone's name to view their detail screen, it shows up nicely. But when I try to view the detailed view of an ability (the left most button on top of the screen), it switches to a blank view for a second or two and then straight back to the original screen. Is this still work in progress or a bug?

Other than that, I'm really loving some of the features this mod has. The realtime graphs are very nice and the comparison between people is a god send.

You are using an older version of a WIP of the Summary Report. Upgrade to the newest version.


Latest changes.
-Adds Reporting of data in Summary Mode, click on an item in the list then press the report icon
-Moves the health to the front in Death Log (now just need to add a health Graph and colorized text)

I figure I should explain exactly what the Focus numbers mean. Focus shows the avg number of players you targeted for attacking/healing time and the Focus Percent is this number divided by 1 (so if 100% you were totally focused on 1 target but if its like 10% you are really spread out across 10 different targets normally). This is calculated by squaring the percentage of time then add them up which actually gives us the focus percent. We then take that number divide one by it in order to get the Avg Number interacted with.

I need to do something useless.

I've tested it yesterdays, and i have faced a few issues:
- A fellow resto chaman was trying it as well, but he didn't appear in my healing meter, and i didn't appear in his... The other healers were present in both our meters.
- I had issues reporting death logs, it only printed like 3 lines and gave a error message (sorry, didn't SC...).

That are the two main issues. I had difficulties doing some things (like understanding how to have the graphs for the whole raid and not only one mob), but i think i just have to get used to it and read the doc ^^

Thank you very much for your work, really apreciated.

A feature I came to think about yesterday. We basicly have one tank who's Great on aggro, and one Who's better for damage mitgation. Is it possible to add in suport for "Total rage gained" and "Rage per sec" ? Maybe even put in energy/sec for rogues. (Relentless/combat potency)

Normal rage gains through damage / energy ticks down't show up in the combatlog.
Combat potency, relentless strikes and bloodrage do, but I doubt this would be anywhere enough to be nearly exact.

Thinking a bit more about it, it could be somewhat possible. You could convert 'damage received' into 'rage gained through damage received' and 'damage out' into 'rage gained through damage done', add bloodrage, berserker rage, etc. and would have a 'sort of' total rage gained for a period of time.
Of course this doesn't takte into account if the warrior is already at 100 rage.

For rogues, it could be seconds fight / 2 * 20 + adrenaline rush + relentless strikes * 25 + combat potency * 15.
As for warriors, if you are already at 100 energy, the values will become wrong though.

Yeah true it would. But if a warrior is at 100 rage, you can see that visually very well so then It would be obvious he needs to mitigate more damage. It's when he uses all rage, and don't get a large overflow, I'm interested in.

I logged in this AM on my shaman solo mode. I fell off the bridge ogrimmar going to the wyvern rider and healed myself. I checked recount: No healing reported show.

I went through the settings and saw that I was supposed to be recording any and all info that came in even if I was soloing.

This was with the latest update this AM.

At the moment it won't record data if you aren't in combat. Its actually an option just isn't exposed yet to toggle.

Resist is Full Resists, Resisted = Partial Resists.

I need to do something useless.
