Just wanted to note that my observation of hiccups with the mod are no longer apparent as of the weekend. Those of us that are using this are loving it more and more. We really like the Death Count details. About 1/4 of our raid has switched to this, with more following every day.

Anonymous Pet Data

Are there plans to parse anonymous pet data from your own events instead of the combat log? If so, will we eventually see a sync that would allow one player running Recount to send his merged damage to another player using Recount and vice versa? I think this would give you accurate merged damage for anonymous pet masters assuming all players with anonymous pets were using Recount.

Fantastic addon! I have some questions/suggestions:
1) Is there a way to display data from a fight after people leave or the raid is disbanded? Currently, only data from people in the raid group is displayed. If someone leaves, I lose their data.
2) It would be nice if the combat data recorded can be exported to a file for archival purposes or to import into WWS.

First of all, great mod! I took a look at it over my lunch break and it finally gave me what I wanted most dearly... a dps meter that doesn't reset every fight (I hate you DamageMeters). I'm on page 10 of this very long thread, and I was hoping I could get some questions answered that I don't expect to find in the next 5 pages:
1) I'm the only one that has to have this for it to work, correct?
2) Pet data is included automatically, right?
3) Will the threat meter work correctly even if the tank doesn't have this installed?

windfury is possible
swordspec not since this is not indicated in the combatlog anymore

He mentioned on like page 9 of the thread that you have to check "Show Ungrouped Data" for those people not in your party to show up.
And I totally agree with #2.

I was using this today on my shaman and I can tell you that melee and windfury are separate... at least by default... not sure if you can change that.

Well, there is still the "You gain x attacks" message, but the attack itself isn't. If we assume that the first attack following that message is the sword spec, you could sort of track it.
Will this mod have a minimap icon/fubar plugin at some point? Having to type in /recount show every time is kind of annoying.

Hmmm... I installed SW Stats today since I didn't think DamageMeters was showing things properly in the first place, and I wanted to be able to check what Recount showed.
After grinding for awhile, I noticed that while my "damage done" stat is exactly the same, my dps is significantly different.
SWS: 524
Rec: 466.1
The damage done on both shows 232702, though I don't see how that would help.

DPS is Damage over a time interval. The time intervals are likely different.
Some tools divide damage by the time in combat. Reocunt and DamageMeters seem to do this.
I think SWS divides damage by "presence" or something like that, meaning if you enter combat but haven't done anything yet it doesn't count that lag time against your dps. One is better for self-measurement, the other is better to help see those that lag because they don't spend enough time active.
The above is just a guess, I don't know for sure how these work but I do know that the time portion for DPS varies from tool to tool.

Hey I downloaded this mod yesterday and was very happy with it... until I got into my raid last night. It seems it was conflicting with my threat meter (Omen) and neither Recount or Omen was properly displaying threat on the targets for me properly is there anyway I could possibly disable the threat function on Recount so this won't happen again? I'd really like to keep using it but if I can't i'll have to find another Parse :[

Maybe you had two different version of Threat installed.
Try installing Threat as a seperate addon, if you haven't already done so.

OK, I got to use this last night during a raid, and all I can say is... amazing. Here are all my thoughts, positive and negative:
Poly-Breaker - On the pulls right before Curator, people kept breaking my sheep because they thought it was funny. One time, we got unlucky and just sloppy, and our healers were mana-drained out (these are the pulls with the big white void walker mob surrounded by 5 of Mana Feeders). They then took out one healer and myself. Thanks to Poly-Breaker, since I had checked it right before that fight, I was able to find out who broke the sheep, which could have easily made the difference between those two deaths and no deaths.
Death Reports - This works beautifully for the most part. However, I found that, at times, it would cut off the report at the bottom and not show what the killing blow was. Also, the death count is including Feign Deaths by hunters, which isn't a big deal, but those would ideally be ignored. I will try to post some screenshots, but I'm not sure if the data is still there.
Data Issues - There was a decent difference between this and SWStats (which I d/l'd last night just to use for comparison). Many of the data points were off by as much as 80k or so. However, I think some of the data may have expired, so I'll need to try this again. In the beginning, it was tracking exactly with SWStats, and I'm not 100% clear on when the two were off.
Memory Usage - Recount never went above 10 or 11 MB of usage for me, and I don't have a problem with that.
Summary Window - Amazing data! Absolutely loved it!
Misc - Loved the breakdown of damage for each person by attack. We were evaluating a few newbies that wanted to join the guild last night, and I was able with this to track what abilities they used to generate most of their damage, so I can talk to those that play their classes and specs to see if they use proper rotation of spells/abilities (one was a Demo lock, and one a Marksman hunter). They seemed to be doing alright as far as not causing problems, but their damage was down, so the officers could digest whether it was just a gear issue or a play issue.
Suggestions:
- Add the option of merging or not merging pet data with its owner. That's one thing I was able to easily do with SW Stats and couldn't do with Recount
- Add a button to the mini-map (I know others have mentioned this, I'm just adding my vote to make it a high priority)
- Add option to increase the number of damage sources displayed when mousing over a player; this currently shows their top 3 sources of damage, but I would like to increase this to 5 or 6
- Add an ability to send the summary report details of a specific character... in the case of last night, it would have been easier to just report the summary detail I was seeing to the officer channel rather than speaking to it in Vent. If this is in there and I missed it, I'm sorry.
Hope this isn't too long and sorry to mention things you're already aware of, I'm just trying to offer suggestions. If this thing matches the accuracy of SWS, and adds just a few more features, I'd be happy beyond words.
