I've run "AddonSpamFu" and notice that anyone using Recount is quite outrageously topping the spamlist by a fair margin.
I presume this is caused by recount simply broadcasting it's sync methods to everyone in the raid, rather than using an addon channel for this.
Are there any plans to improve on this, as a lot of guilds are banning the addon (along with Dottimer) from raids because of it's spammy behaviour.

Would be nice if it could show actions on the graph(or just a simple 1 dimensional timeline), like when debuffs get applied or bolts hit - would help a lot at checking iddle time & clipping etc.
In case anyone's picking it up again

After uninstalling this mod. My framerate went up by 15 on boss fights.
I thought i read somewhere that it has been abandoned? If this is true, is there another mod that's anywhere near recount's functionality?

I gave up on this mod almost 3 months ago when development stopped and there was a huge bug with sync'ing and fights like RoS. I went back to it 2 weeks ago and I've noticed a huge drop in frame rate every so often while raiding when the raid is taking a lot of damage or something. While tanking archimonde i'll get roughly constant 60fps but every few seconds i will actually drop frames for 1 entire second.
I dont get the same issues when I disable recount. For the record my system is a Core 2 Duo @ 3ghz, 2gigs of RAM, 7950gt.

In our raids, where we used Recount a lot untill about 2 month ago, we always end up with ppl crashing on fights like RoS, BB and sometimes even trash.
The game just drops to 0.1 fps and ppl have to reboot. Its 100% Recount thats messing up so I removed it again. Very sad since it was the best statistic mod I have ever seen.

I always have it on and I specifically open a realtime DPS meter on Archimonde and Teron, as I find it quite interesting in those fights.
I never drop or crash due to that. I also don't have the newest hardware (outdoor with nothing around 60fps, drops fast to 40 and generally around 20 in raids with drops down to 10 and below when much is going on). Then again, I almost never get any disconnects and I can play without trouble for hours without the need to logout, switching from AV to raids to solo to 5man. While recount can certainly be taxing on one's system resources, I haven't personally gotten problems just because I run it such that I would have been forced to reboot.

Same here. I recently upgraded my system quite a bit - before I had real FPS problems in raids to which Recount was not contributing. Nowadays my FPS still dips a little bit during fights like Illidan but thats caused by playing WoW at maximum graphic settings.
Several of my co raiders also use Recount and we haven't had an instance where technical problems could be traced to a problem with this addon.

Solution complicated; Dispense enlightening graph.

If your raid reaches a critical mass of recount's enabled, you will have the clients disconnecting you for sending/recieving too much addon chatter. Other addons can contribute to this, of course, but recount's traffic on the hidden addon channel is particularly high and noticable. Well above most other addons.
Grab one of the addons to monitor the spam on your hidden channel (You have one for party, one for guild, and one for raid) and you'll see what people are complaining about. It's probably a moot issue anyways, as all of the combat addons are going to have to be rewritten in 2.4 as the entire combat log system is changing from strings to events, and thus all the parsing addons are going to break.

Someone mentioned that they pushed the changes to the SVN however it looks as if the mod on the SVN hasn't been updated in a while. Is the Ace SVN the latest/greatest version right now?

I'd imagine that simply updating the Ace Parser library would allow Recount, Violation and other Ace damage meter mods to start working. Of course, 2.4 will probably bring new and clearer information about combat events and mods will need to be updated to take advantage of this.

Anyone have any suggestions for a recount replacement? I am mostly interested in a mod which displays death logs. I tried assessment but it didn't display as much information as I wanted (parries for example).

Expiration (available at WoWAce) handles death tracking, but I don't know how much detail it goes into.

So does turning off sync with /recount sync fix the disconnect/lag problems? I'm a bit confused about all the sync talk in the last pages when there seems to be an easy option to turn it off.
I don't wan't to stop using this addon because of the death graphs, but don't want to see mass disconnects either.

As there wasnt any on Jira for Recount ...
I've gave my pet the same name my hunter toon has. That totally bugged Recount in matters of the accuracy of the meters for me and my pet. I'm not listed at all. The pet get some meter data, but no detailed meter data's, like max crit.

There never used to be this option, someone has picked it up and started maintaining it again and added it in now though.

Recently a few members of my guild and myself have started to use recount. Its a great mod, but one question came up that we are seeking an answer for. We have one hunter that is destroying the meters and was out preforming all the mages in the guild, he was doing more damage overall than my rogue.
We were running Zul'Aman the other night, I was still using recap, and my friend was using recount. On my meters I had the hunter leading in damage by a large margin. On her meters she had the hunter in 4th place. After consulting others in the raid using various meters we noticed that she had just DL'd recount and didn't have the trivial mobs box selected. Others in the raid that did have the trivial mobs box selected were getting the same results as I was. My basic question is what exactly are the 'Trivial mobs'?

I'm pretty sure trivial is critters. I could be wrong though because unless your dps is really close to eachother I doubt Aim Shotting all of those frogs would bring you from 4th to 1st.

Does recap merge pets? Does recap consider activity as a factor? Was the hunter specced 41/20/0?
The hunter class, with talents spent properly and shooting properly, can put out some obscene damage right now. Our mages have to gather bloodlust/heroism and shadow priests just to keep up on single-target fights.
Trivial mobs are critters, yes. The hunter might've been shooting at the frogs, but I don't think that's gonna take you from 4th to 1st either (as someone else suggested).
A damage meter that's never reset is fine, but a damage meter that's not splitting on combat is not fine and shouldn't be taken as infallible. WWS is a lot more reliable than questionable meter resets.

He is spec'd 41/20/0 atm. As far as I know recap does merge pets and I was putting out about 870-900 DPS. very close to 1000 on the boss fights, recap said he was doing about 1000 DPS. Then according to my friends recount, he went from 1st to 4th. I didn't ask her what his actually DPS was on her chart. When I compared my recap meter to another friends recount meter that had trivial mobs selected, the meters were almost identical. As far as we could tell, the only thing that was different on her recount was that she didn't have trivial mobs selected, but I'd really like to do some further investigation, I'm leaning towards the possibility that there was something else she didn't have selected.

There's currently a disccusion about hunters and pets in the recount thread on wowace.com found here:
Recount
(Page should be about right)
However, that issue seemed to have been with lower dps and pet/hunter merging. Check it out though and post in that thread if your questions aren't answered. After all, the new maintainer is reading and posting in said thread
