Looking at the current death reports, I had a player tell me he died to burn on Brutallus, when Recoutn stated he died to a melee swing.
I'm not sure what's in the right here, but if anyone else has had similiar inaccuracies it may be worth looking into.
Also, the death reports as of yesterday did not seem to actually be able to send to other people (it would just print the header).

Before 2.4, I used to use Assessment(Ace addon) to report how someone died. (Like on archimonde)
I use GrimReaper now. It looks very nice, although I haven't figured out how to use it properly without tagging along with xperl yet. (I use pitbull for my unitframe now)

Recount Healing Request
First off, have to say I love this add-on, and I've found it to be quite a bit more useful and user-friendly (excellent going on this especially) than the other available damage and healing meters.
One request I have is a possible refinement of the healing distribution pie chart. Would it be possible to show the different ranks of healing spell casts as well as the relative frequency of the type of spell (e.g. Holy Light 7 vs. 9 vs. 11 and GHeal 3 vs. GHeal 7, etc.)? If this is at all possible, it would be a real help to a bunch of the healers (and especially guild healing officers) out there using this add-on.
Again, great work so far, and thanks for giving us all an excellent add-on.

I absolutely love Recount. It's an amazing addon, and I'm very thankful I have it as a raid leader for on-the-fly analysis of what we can do better on boss fights.
That being said, I've got a pet peeve with it: The tooltip. Every time I mouse over to change the section of the parse (i.e. to view how someone did on Moroes vs. Shade) I get a gargantuan tooltip displaying that most of our warlock's damage is from shadowbolts, right over the little file icon. Some easy solutions for this would be to the tooltips grow down by default (making it so they'll never overlap the top bar), add an option to hide the tooltips completely, or to make it so the top bar can be moved to the bottom of the window (so the configuration, report buttons, ect is all down below the meters as opposed to above). Possibly a fourth option to add to the third is to add an option to set the tooltip to grow down or up from the cursor as well as adding an option to have the bar at the bottom or the top of the window?
Also, I second the distinguishing between different ranks of heals. That would help me a ton, especially with our disc. priest : )

I've been comparing Violation and Recount, and... they don't seem to agree. For example, I was testing out the dps of a frost spec, and Recount thought I was getting 874 dps. Violation thought I was getting... 1400dps. This is with them running simultaneously, on the same test (on Dr. Boom).
Recount's dps is apparently correct (i.e. total damage / time == dps), and I can't get that data from Violation for some reason. Even if I don't do anything funky with water elementals and just spam frostbolt, recount will think I'm doing 784dps, and Violation will think I'm doing 830dps.
What gives?

I'm assuming one does:
total damage / activity = dps
whereas the other does:
total damage / time in combat = dps
Which will result in the latter giving a lower DPS reading.

Given that I was essentially chain-casting frostbolts and then using invisibility when I went oom, I'm not sure how any measure of "activity" that was different from "time in combat" would make sense :/

Invisibility is at least 5 seconds of standing still, which will increase combat time doing nothing. Whenever you had breaks, or stopped for a moment, or popped a potion, or anything where you were not casting a spell at that exact moment attacks your DPS.

While death counts do seem to appear accurately on Recount now, occassionally (and seemingly randomly) the detailed report on a player's death is missing. Any idea why this could be happening? I've noticed occassionally the combatlog reads "Florense's death misses Florense", could that be why?

The only thing that I find annoying with the was dps is calculated is that when I die and there are still my dots/hots running around after I'm dead, the remainder of their duration gets added to my active/in combat time.
While the total damage done should increase, the time should stop the moment I die.

I love this addon, however i do find it tends to be fairly inaccurate at calculating "DPS".
For example.
We do a boss fight and in every case where there is a player using "Dots" in their damage rotation, their "DPS" will show as considerably lower than any player not using dots, regardless of how much damage is done. Ive seen in some cases it can be out quite a lot where ive seen a warlock (Destruction/shadow) showing with 1800dps but with a lot less damage done than someone doing say 1200dps who is Dots in thier rotation.
Another annoying thing is how it counts you still in combat after death, any dots running will considerably lower your dps.
A boss fight the night before last i was doing 2200dps on solarian in tempest keep. Unfortunately i got killed by the boss. I had "Current fight" selected on recount and after my death i watched my dps fall from 2200 to 1600 as my deep wounds ticked away. The outcome of the fight (after downed) showed me on top of the "damage done" by a fair ammount, but my "DPS" showing a fair bit lower than others.
Forgive me if this has been asked, but is there a way to save data from boss encounters, kinda in the same way as "WWS" works. id very much like to keep an archive for different fights to see where im going wrong and evaluate on upgrades in my equipment and my performance. I have had a look and it doesnt appear that the addon has the feature at the moment.
Aside from that, good job on the addon, its the best that ive seen by a long way.

You might want to look into how the /recount realtime commands are called. If you can run script commands try calling "/recount realtime dps".

I have been experiencing the same thing. In addition sometimes the death log is simply dead wrong. For example it will show someone dying to a 10k Meteor Slash when in fact they died behind Brutallus from Burn. Other times it will seem accurate but in fact heals on the person are missing (but show up in the combat log).
The death log is the only function of Recount I use. Can anyone recommend a more reliable replacement?
