Healing Assignments addons

I'm usually taking care of the healing side in my guild's raids. That means giving out assignments and/or positioning to the healers.

When I first started I simply made a macro that announced the assignments in the healer's channel. This worked fine for smaller raids and simple encounters, but as we are progressing into harder and more complex content a macro just doesn't cut it anymore. The most annoying thing is the 255 character limit, and the limit to the macros one can save.

I have searched for an addon that can do the same but have not found anything suitable. They never go past "healer x heals person y and person z" which simply is not enough anymore.

In todays raiding I find it's common for each healer to have different assignments depending on which phase the boss is in for example, or assignments to heal from a certain position rather than certain players or even a mix of both.

But enough of that, I'm simply looking for an addon that has these features:

- Save/Load previously created assignments.
- Complete freedom in the assignments, ie a textbox where I can type in whatever I want and whatever is needed.
- Broadcast the text into a channel of choice.

Suggestions are well appreciated.

Thanks but after briefly checking out Heal Assign I have to say that it's not what I'm looking for. It follows the same "healer x on tank y" model and doesn't leave room for more complex assignments.

That one is already closer to what I'm looking for, but it's still too limited.

I'm basically looking for a "Notepad" addon where i can save/load text and broadcast it to a channel.

If it has healing specific features even better.

I know this is not exactly what your looking for but we just use the guild info tab for healing assignments. It's easy to do and everyone can see it.

Probably a little bit clumsier but there is a mod called Whiteboard (http://www-en.curse-gaming.com/downloads/details/4086/) where you can doodle/draw locations or whatever you need for strats.

I have not used this mod personally, but if you can draw the assignments they should be able to follow them.

Well it has no healing functions embedded in it, but I personally use tiny pad. It has the ability to have multiple pages in the notebook so I can store assignments per page for different bosses. With only 7 healers in the raid it's been perfectly adequate for our needs.

Try SuperMacro. It takes away the 255 character limit from macros

I'd try out Heal Organizer, as that's what I'm going to look into for organizing the heals for our raids.

This is basically what I do. I use TinyPad (though I have keep debating a switch to Omnibus now that TinyPad looks dead). I type out my healing orders, then copy and paste to the healers channel.

As long as TinyPad works I'd see little reason to switch just because it's "dead". Personally I don't see it breaking any time soon, and it does exactly what you'd expect. No reason to change mods or update if it's got all the features you want.

I use Healing Groups Suck (linked earlier in the thread). When I tried HealOrganizer, it didn't do some of the stuff I was used to from HGS, so I switched back. YMMV.

Is here any way to make TinyPad dump the text on the current page to a channel of your choice?

Make sure it's on an empty page, press control+a, press control+c, press control+v.

The powers of copying and pasting unleashed.
