As a wild ignornamous to the inner voodoo of addons besides rare forays to make small hacks, let me run down why I like Ace2 addons, and either this is a vast conspiracy by all Ace2 addon authors, or a cunning design:

A) Fubar (Titanpanel) - I hate 50 million buttons cluttering up my minimap, I do not mind them being like my Start Menu or Taskbar, which both in WoW and in Windows, autohides - when I care, I mouse over. When I don't, you'd never know.

B) Niagara. I can't tell you how many wonderful addons have absolutely crummy options screens, and honestly, I'd rather have some hobbyist who is coding an addon I enjoy enjoying their coding, and if that's features, features, features, gravy. I have trouble imagining every developer enjoying developing reasonable options screens... so whatever voodoo that makes Niagara work is pretty awesome. It may only be one word, but seriously, this is almost the entire sale right here.

C) WAU. Covered enough.

D) Having experienced a number of The Great Patch Wot Broke All Dem Addons, every time it was Some Guy, it could be months before the addon was fixed. I think the longest period for not getting my mostly Ace2 interface back up and going was 2 days - some nonsense about an expansion and them having a secondary, developer only /tbc that they didn't publish live at midnight.

E) The page I direct people to is not gummed up. One of the interface sites is a forum, and it is a gigantic pain to go from front page to addon, even if you know what you're talking about and looking for. files.wowace.com ctrl-f type in the name of addon click and go.

As a not complete programming ignoramous, the whole "Well, just because it is/is not Ace2..." reads a lot like a WoW forums grade "Is PVP skill or gear?" Someone can make (and has made) an Ace2 addon with a runaway allocator, eventually gumming up all available resources. The funny part is, the worst offender I can recall was originally a non-Ace(2) addon, and was terrible in that incarnation too. Or, put another way, a violin is a violin, what melody played upon it nary a fault to itself.

Edit: Would the person who repped this down please amend the rep so I could understand how five specific bullet points of mods, Ace2, and advantages isn't on point constructive/useful, that would be great.
