Item "protection" addon

Hello,

I'm an enchanter, and I'm usually in charge of sharding all unwanted items on our runs. Now, one of my biggest paranoias is missclicking one of my items with a similar graphic that the one I want to disenchant, and shard one of my items by mistake.

I played LotrO a bit, and one of the features I liked the most was how you could "lock" an item in your inventory so you could not sell it by mistake. Is there an addon that replicates a similar feature for WoW?

Thanks in advance.

You could use a mod like Baggins, Engbags, or Sanity Bags to seperate specific items that you want to keep (I think Item Rack/Closet Gnome sets is a sectionable option). If you don't want to do much configuration, Baggins also has the "new" tag on anything thats entered your lags since you last logged in, which can be helpfull. Nothing can really save you from what I did though, keybinding disenchant and breaking your mainhand before pulling a boss, all the while thinking I was casting a weapon oil application :-/.

I'd love a mod like this if it was possible. I looked around for anything resembling this functionality, but couldn't find anything.

Looking over the available API functions and events in WoW, I'm not sure if it is at all possible to make as an addon. One could maybe make a mod that kept track of a set of "keeper" items and outlined those so it would be clear what not to sell but I couldn't readily see a way to intercept/blocking sales.

I do think it's definitely something that would be worth posting on the official suggestion board - though of course it will probably be drowned out there very quickly.

Pre-TBC, there was a mod (escaped my mind at the moment) where you could set the quality level and it would block disenchants at that level without a pop-up asking if you really want to DE that item. Was very nice for purples but not sure if that's doable these days.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

There was a mod that forced you to shift+click to vendor. It was by the cosmos guys. I don't know if it is still around, but I can't think of a reason why this shouldn't be possible (and apply to DE as well).

See you, auntie.

I'm not sure if it's updated, but Engravings (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...ngravings.html) lets you add notes to items, so if nothing else you could at least write HAY DON'T SHARD ME on things :P
