Bug: lower part of the screen turns black/grey (might be Pitbull a bug?)
Does anyone know how to get rid of this kind of bug?
I get it totally random while playing, it can happen sometimes when I alt-tab back to the game.
these are the addons I'm using:
/reloadui does not solve it, I need to quit and relog.

Update your graphic drivers and make sure you're using DirectX 9.0c? Don't know what else to say, I don't see a viewport addon and that's not even a viewport view, the screen is just black, not rescaled. The simple solution is to not alt-tab while playing the game. A somewhat less simple solution is to run the game in Window mode but the same resolution as your desktop, so it's full screen windowed mode.
I used to have a problem where my video would completely invert and change to bizarre colors, I would lose all models and icons and all I could see was terrain and myself / mount. I never figured out what fixed it.

Wow, that's... bizzare.
I'm of two minds about it. On one hand, getting it when you alt-tab out of game seems to discount the cause being addons. On the other hand, the graphical issue seems to be on a medium strata (covers some UI backdrop elements but not foreground stuff) - something that can't really be hardware-related (can it?)
First thing to do would be to see if you get it while playing without any add-ons at all, and work from there.

I had this issue one or 2 times, but it seems switching off and then turning on displaying UI fixes this (by default it's Alt+z)

I had this had this happen to me a few times recently and still have yet to figure out why it appeared. I use 2 monitors and play WoW on one of them in Windowed Mode. I simply played around with minimizing and full screening WoW to fix this (sometimes it took a few tries) I havnt had this happen in a few weeks however, in fact now that i think about it, it only started occuring when i switched to pitbull over ag.

I had this problem as well, except it wasn't the complete lower half of my screen. Try moving your party window if you want to confirm, but it's the aura display on a party member. If you disable auras you won't have this issue. Notice how it's always starting right under the party member frame though?

I think its recount. It goes away if I either:
/console reloadui
close recount and open it
alt-z x2
EDIT:
I don't think it is recount any longer. Although closing and opening it sometimes fixes it, it is not a sure way to make it go away. I was able to show/hide all sorts of other stuff (Grid, niagra) and occasionally make it go away with other things.
I use Pitbull -- so that is probably it based on the other reports (I do NOT use the pitbull raid stuff, and I have had it happen in a normal party).
For now, ant-z x2 is the easiest.

I had this bug as well several times and i noticed a few things: it appears that end of that grey/black area is always a playerframe.
Since i use Pitbull as well i am quite positiv that pitbull somehow causes this error though i can't imagine how.

I've had this happen a few times recently... if I Alt-Z twice to hide/show the UI, the problem goes away, so I really haven't looked too much into it. If I recall, the grayed out area is where my Viewport/Skinner BottomFrame is.

I'm not playing in windowed mode and I'm not using viewport, however I turned off recount, installed the newest graphic driver. I'll report if it occurs again.

It's obviously directly related to the aura trying to be displayed for a party member. Whether it's another mod interfering is another question, but this sure seems pretty obvious to me. Also, changing drivers did nothing for me. I've been running Pitbull with party auras disabled for the time being and haven't had a single problem since.

I sometimes get this error when a player joins my group in raids. I used to not be able to see any buttons or chat windows when this occurred. After I changed the PitBull frame strata to background, I could. So I'm pretty sure this error is related to PitBull.

Another fix is opening up and closing the in game map. I've had this happen a few times without me able to figure out why. I run in fullscreen windowed mode on a second monitor all the time, and it still occurs. I didn't even know about the other quick fixes (alt-z and such) but I still think hitting m twice is the quickest solution for me.
This also fixes random errors I get in pitbull where textures explode over bars they shouldn't, names don't get displayed, or when something didn't update within my party properly.

I get a very similar error, though sometimes it is confined to the lower right of my screen (where my action bars are) rather than stretching the whole width of the screen. Typically the top of the error is aligned with a portion of either my raid or party interface.
I play windowed and maximised, and I use Pitbull, too. I don't recall seeing the error before I got Pitbull.

It's definitely a bug in pitbull. Yesterday I was, for the first time ever, messing around with pitbull and this would happen whenever I chose the "include player in party frame" option. It went away as soon as I unchecked the option and it has never happened prior to me installing pitbull.

Are you sure this isn't hardware related? Video card overheating for example...

I'm 99.9% sure it is PitBull that is causing this error (and 100% not the video card).

I have gotten this occasionally in the last few days on the right-hand side of my screen.
It seemed directly connected with a recent update of my Ace mods, so I tend to believe it has something to do with Pitbull. It is often in relationship to the alignment of my Pitbull frames, and I do not have Recount. As I have my Pitbull party frames set up horizontal instead of vertical, I suppose that could be why I have it on one side of my screen in a different manner than the OP's screen shot.
I play windowed maximized also, and it seems to happen a lot after I zone out of a battleground--e.g. shifting from the battlegroup/arena raidgroup back into my "normal" group. Alt-tabbing seems to make it worse.

How many other ace2 addons do you use? Is it possible that Pitbull alone would not cause this bug? I'm tinking about an other addon interfering with pitbull... It happens quite often after joining a battleground.
I renamed the title of the topic to get more attention of the Pitbull users.
