Can anyone please provide a definitive answer for this issue? My Grid still appears to have laggy health updates and the older health update mods don't seem to be helping. Has a new solution to the quick health update problem been developed?

GridStatusAggro changed from using Banzai to using the Blizzard threat events. It will show you aggro from mobs that nobody is targeting but it won't show you those temporary target switches for the random secondary target abilities. This is by design and is intended to recue CPU usage since banzai would scan the target of every party/raid member serveral times per second.

Hey, I'm using GRID+GridIndicatorCornerIcons. I wondered if it is possible, to get a timer on top of a corner icon, e.g Sacred Shield, BoP, etc (if not possible, a suggestion to add this feature on a next release, it's really useful).

I don't know if it's possible but I've tried to set up grid to work with Beacon of Light and Light's Beacon as best as I could but the problem is to show who is affected by "my" Light's Beacon so it's easier to make the decision if it's safe to heal someone in the raid when on tank healing duty.
I have never done any LUA-programming myself so I'm wondering if it is possible to make an addon for grid to track the Light's Beacon that comes from your Beacon of Light target.
As it is now you can only chose to show all buffs or just your buffs and since the Light's Beacon isn't counted as beeing yours it's either to show all of none.
So basicly what it does is to register what target I have Beacon of Light up on and then show who ever has his Light's Beacon on them.

Hey. I have been using Grid for quite some time but never actually messed with the setting a lot. Now, recently I learned that Grid can now show vehicles ( like Malygos ). So on the last page I saw that screenshot which shows the raid + the drakes under it. Having modified my UI quite a bit, I just don't have the space where to put it
So in short my question is: can I set Grid so, that when we enter P3, my normal raid ( the 5 groups ) will just be replaced by the drakes or I have to find some other way?

Does anyone know what "Global Cooldown Mode" actually does on GridStatusLifebloom? It seems to affect the remaining Lifebloom duration in some way - I'm just wondering how and what the GCD has to do with the remaining time.

Also, I'm seeing some health updates being much slower -- stuff like target-of-target and PerfectTargets displays are stalling out or are way behind the actual health value or something. It snaps to the correct value when I target the mob, but often I'll see a boss at 65% then instantly drop to 20% when I target it. It's very annoying, and seems to have happened around the time of the 3.08 patch.
Sadly I can only really test it while in raid, and I don't want to stall everyone else out while I dick around with my addons. Anyone else seeing this, or know what might be causing it?

Does anybody know of a way to use Grid for target/focus/targettarget? I've seen mention throughout this thread that people simply use another unitframe mod like ag_UF, X-perl, or Pitbull, but it would be nice to use Grid's customizable features for these frames as well.
It would be really nice if there was a separate box for these, something like:
Target | TargetTarget
Focus | FocusTarget
TargetTarget | TargetTargetTarget
ProximoGrid has it's own separate box, so it seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to implement a GridTargets type of mod.

Grid use a feature provided by Blizzard which are called SecureHeader templates. This features allows Blizzard to create on the fly Unit Frames, even in combat. There is no SecureHeader template that allows to track the Target and Focus units, so in order to support these units, a core part of Grid would need to be rewritten, which is something that is not trivial at all, and that Pastamancer has refused to do several time. I would also refuse such a change in Grid2, and this feature could only be added through a (not necessarily very hard) Grid module.

I'd like my raid frames organized along the left edge of my screen. How do I configure Grid to line up vertically like this?

I actually came here to post this too. I'm using Grid to cover raid frames since PB4 doesn't have them in yet, and I already use it on my healer. The only other thing I'm looking for is class colored mana bars. I already use GridManaBars, just only have the option to set the colors for the types of energy. Though I may look into seeing how Grid does class colored health bars and seeing if there's any cut and paste job I could do to get things done.
edit: I'm also looking to move the text up a bit, the equivalent of moving a text in pitbull from Frame Left to Health Left. 1500 lines in the frame lua..

Just wondering but when you say class colored mana bars. Is this to make a group to stand alone to show an overall mana count for that class? Or is that meaning you just want the mana bar on your grid to be a diff color besides blue for the classes?

I am looking to have one color (the class color, e.g., pink for paladins, purple for warlocks, etc) for both health and mana -- the size of the mana bar in relation to the health bar is plenty to tell which is which.
I'm basically trying to recreate my pitbull3 raid frames for my DPS (who really just wants a cursory glance to see how much mana people have), since pb4 doesn't have them yet. I have a (very) different setup for my healer that I'm happy with. Or, PB4 could add raid frames, but I'm already pretty close with Grid, and it's a little more lightweight.

Is there anyway to make another anchor for pet-bars?
I'm running a tight layout who only supports space for 25-players and i rarely need to see pets, but on some encounters (malygos) i would like to see the pets. It would be pretty awesome if you could detach and position them somewhere else on the screen.

Raiding is full of challenge. Sometimes there is fire.
You have not to move out of the fire, it will be nerfed soon.

For Maly, Grid's vehicle swapping doesn't satisfy your needs? Grid\Status\In Vehicle?
**Edit: I just looked at the Grid code and all that it appears to do is update a unit's status. I'm not sure if there is an added complexity with Vehicles, but they are not pets per se. I.e. would grid even put them within a pet frame since the drakes are vehicles not pets. Sorry if this doesn't help.

It depends which version of grid you are having. Earlier ones don't really work (vehicles are "pets") but on newer ones grid replaces the unit with the vehicle. See also http://elitistjerks.com/1101068-post364.html

@Cadfael: Are you sure they replace the frames? Again, I've reviewed the code and there is a GridStatusVehicle.LUA file that updates the status of a unit to denote that it is in a vehicle. But I see nothing in GridFrame or GridCore that reflects a change in the unit frame (i.e. when you target the frame it targets the vehicle not the player). And I have had it enabled on Maly and I noticed no difference in P3. It is moot for me because of the way we heal Maly (target self to build combos and AoE heal) and Yes I saw Constantius' post: that is what clued me in on the new status function. But if you are telling me that it changes the unit frame in question, then please tell me where the functionality exists (i.e where in the code or in the options GUI).
Thanks.

I admit I haven't enabled grid/status/vechicle but I'll try that tonight. However, when looking on pasta's screenshot posted here http://elitistjerks.com/1053506-post529.html I'd say I'm not totally happy if that is how it will look. It would flood alot of my other bars/frames and I'd have to do major changes to the UI everytime i play malygos.
My UI has a fixed space where only 25-players fit and nothing more, if I'm to fit raid-pets etc I would have to reposition or scale the entire Grid down and I don't really want that.
So, as of now I've used Pitbull raid pet-frames and enabled those for Malygos but otherwise they are turned off. The idea struck me, if you could detach the pets and place them somewhere else in the UI it would be a very nice feature for people like me.
