The number after the first dot indicates how many times the zip has been recompiled during the current revision, which happens every time one of the libraries/dependencies are updated. The actual number you need to look out for it the first numerical value after the r but before the dot - a change in this would denote that assessment had been updated. However, as Malan said, there is a version being worked on, but given the huge number of changes in the 2.4 combat log, we might be stuck with current solutions for a while. The official Assessment thread on the wowace forums has more info.

As to alternatives for the time being - GrimReaper gives a very similar style of action log to assessments death log.

I'm personally using Violation until assessment is updated, It's not as fancy, but I prefer it over.. recount.

Do any alternatives currently allow filtering of dmg done to a specific mob? We are working on Kael right now, and it would be very nice to see in-game who is being effective on DPS against a specific advisor or on weapons, and who isn't, as one example.

I haven't installed the updated version, but SWstats has been patched for 2.4 and certainly use to have a filterable log you could use for such an occasion.

Has anyone taken a look at Assessment to see how hard it would be to try to push in the new combat log interface? Looks like Roartindon discovered the big blue room with the painful yellow light in it.

Yup, there is work happening in the branches, slowly but surely, by a few people. Also, I don't recommend SWS, I think it still syncs everything which isn't needed at all, with a few rare exeptions. I'd recommend recount or violation as a temporary replacement.

Now that they've fixed the Death command in the combat log, does anyone know if Assessment has any kind of ETA for being re-released? It was my favorite DM/Analytics/Death tracking mod and I'm fairly gimped without it.

There are 2 guys working on separate development branches over at WoWAce. I believe the plan is to merge their branches soon, as one of them has Healing filters almost all working, and the other guy has most of the damage stuff working. Neither has pushed anything new to the SVN in the past 2 weeks though.

I'm not expecting anything to come out soon, and I'd dare say that it may never see the light of day again. Who knows. I might end up having to move back to Recount because Violation is a terrible stand-in.

I'm with you. I really was spoiled by the old assessment. I dearly miss even just having a meter that would sync with bigwigs and save off boss fights, and none of the alternatives do that.

I've looked through this thread, and a few versions back on the wowace site, and can't find any recent versions with the flat death list... is this still one of assessments features and I've broken something, is there a line of code to re-enable this, or should I look elsewhere for this feature?

Yes. Assessment hasn't really been updated since a couple of fans got the DPS and damage taken views mostly working (still doesn't merge pets, etc).

I still use it because it is the only meter (for reasons I'll never understand) that is smart enough to tie in with BigWigs (if you have the option checked) and save off boss fights for you that you can peruse in-game at your leisure mid-raid.

I keep my eyes open for another meter to provide that functionality, but no luck so far.
