Inspired by some of the posts in this thread, I decided to try mapping my movement keys to mouse buttons instead of WASD, but encountered a problem. If I map, say, mouse button 4 to move forward, it doesn't work if my mouse pointer is hovering over a unit frame at the time. Anyone know if there's a way to get around this in wow, or if I'll have to find some out of game utility to do this? (I use an ancient Microsoft optical mouse that their drivers don't even seem to support.)
Edit: Found the answer in a link in this thread - AutoHotkey.
I just splurged on a Logitech MX Revolution mouse and I'm loving it, especially after getting UberOptions.
I have tried the MX Revolution as well, and I like the feel of it. However I have a huge problem with "connection". Sometimes (even when high on batteries) it seems to stutter and freeze quite heavily for a few minutes, only to work fine again for a while. It's almost as thoug it's losing it's connection for short bursts and it is really annoying. I've experienced it with one other cordless mouse before the MX too.
At first I thought it was the USB ports being strange because someone suggested that to me, and when I tried to switch between front and back USB ports on the computer it seemed to make difference. However, I am also using a cord mouse (G3) and this doesn't have the problem at all, so I guess that points to the wireless transmissions themselves.
Has anyone else experienced any similar problems? Or maybe someone have some ideas of what to test to get rid of it, maybe some special drivers to update? Hope to get it fixed before a mouse freeze cause me to run into doomfire or such -.-
My wireless MX1000 seems to have a problem with releasing the right mouse button every once in a while. I'll hold down right mouse to turn/move around and occationally the game acts as if I right clicked on something that would be where my cursor would be if I released the button and pressed it again instantly. This leads to some problems when I'm tanking/fighting near CC'd stuff and has lead to me breaking sheep/shackles/etc more than once.
How long have you had your MX1000? I've had mine since they first came out and it acts the same way, but it only began doing it within the past year, I attributed it to age/wear and tear.
I'm guessing it's either just something mechanically faulty with the mouse or has to do w/ the wireless component. The receivers can be kind of testy so I'd make sure the mouse has LOS to the dongle w/ minimal electronic interference along the way. I think I have heard of some of the Revolutions getting stuck keys though, so given they share manufacturers it wouldn't surprise me if it was just that.
I've had the mouse for quite a while so it could very well be just getting old. I repositioned the charger/receiver to butting up against my mousepad, so the range/LOS shouldn't be an issue at all.
I guess I should start looking for a new mouse... Bah. This one is comfortable and has 8 easy to reach buttons.
I'm using a G15 keyboard (V2.0) and a MX Revolution mouse.
The keyboard is absolutely flawless... really impressed with it.
The mount is almost as good... but has an occasional tendency to double click on the left mouse button when I've only pressed the button once.... furthermore the free spinning wheel was broken when I dropped it which is a pain
On the subject of MXRevolution, has anyone found out a way to clean out the mouse wheel? About a month after I got mine the mousewheel just lost all of it's smoothness and the free spin is completely unusable.

When I played on my Mac I used a program called USBOverdrive to make use of all the buttons on my Logitech MX1000. It was a great program that easily recognized my mouse and let me configure the buttons any way that I wanted. I found the best setup simply to be assigning them to additional mouse buttons (MOUSE6, MOUSE7, etc.) which were recognized by WoW (and more importantly by Clique).
But now I'm back on the PC and Logitech's SetPoint software sucks. Only random builds of outdated versions of it even recognize my mouse, and then it will only last for a handful of reboots before it decides to stop working completely. And when it does work I can only assign buttons to obscure key combos, even when using uberOptions.
Does anyone know of a Windows program similar to USBOverdrive? Failing that, does anyone know how to get SetPoint to reliably operate with the MX1000? Or is there a way to get WoW to recognize the additional buttons without any fancy software?

With regards to the mouse sometimes registering a single click as a double click, I've had that issue before on two MX700s that I've used, both of which were very old. The cause of it was just wear on the plastic beneath the button that actually presses the switch inside - I ended up taking it apart and dropping a small drop of superblue on that plastic, which solved the problem.
Then I went and bought new mice anyway.

So I have the g15 keyboard which I have not yet setup with Macros. Does anyone have a link to a site or post that goes into specifics about programming this keyboard for WOW?
I am currently Razer tarantala on another system and it seems to work very well. I am using the razer death adder on both and have my vent speech setup to the mouse 5 button. Works great. I have X-keys keypads setup with both and they work great! I use the 52 key version which is a little overkill and can get a little klunky in raids, however there seems to be no "lag" in them and set up is a breeze.
As far as headset, im using the Razer and it has been very good so far. Plugs directly into the razer keyboard as does the mouse.
I was thinking of trying out the new n52te, but after reading the posts here i think it may not be worth the cash.
Thanks, but uberOptions is just a custom/hacked profile for SetPoint and doesn't get around the problems that MX1000s seem to have with Logitech's software. And as I mentioned, due to limitations with SetPoint, uberOptions doesn't let you assign buttons to MOUSE6, MOUSE7, etc., although it does let you play with more buttons than the default SetPoint.
I love my MX1000 and successfully use Setpoint with all the buttons linked to keystrokes. It's starting to stick and I have been searching for a replacement mouse. Seems no current mouse offers 8 buttons and a side tilting wheel. I don't mind going back to a wired mouse and I really like the 9 button razor but no side scrolling wheel (I use for strafe).... Anyone know of a mouse coming out with 8+ buttons?

Sorry, I guess I don't quite understand what you are looking for. uberOptions allows me to reprogram all of the buttons to do anything I want and I can use all of them in WoW, including the thumb wheel on my Logitech MX Revolution.

uberOptions requires SetPoint, which has issues with MX1000s. Even older versions which will occasionally recognize my mouse often fail after a couple of reboots. And when it does work, I still can't make the buttons behave as "MOUSE#" buttons. I can only map them to obscure keystrokes and then bind those in WoW. I feel that this is inferior to mapping them to actual MOUSE6, MOUSE7 type buttons.
It does look very tempting for my extra button wants.
I'd love a natural keyboard style G15, alas I can dream.
Not enough buttons on those Razer brand mice. Also the thumb is left with only 1 button, when it can handle more, and the pinky is forced to use/avoid a button on the right side.
Razer's mouse design is still lacking. High DPI mice are fantistic and also totally unnecessary outside of shooter games.
Just got an X-Keys desktop and I'm loving it. Very easy to set up and configure (once you think to download the software from the website, which isn't on the CD included with the unit for some odd reason).
