Just upgraded from generic keyboard/mouse to MX Revolution and G11, quite a nice change. Though I'm having some trouble (though I haven't spent much time with it) getting binds to all the buttons on the MX and creating macros on the G11.
Not sure if anyone else signed up, but Logitech emailed me this weekend, and the new G15 is available for purchase direct from Logitech. I haven't had a chance to check other retailers, or look for reviews yet. I'll throw up information as I find it unless someone beats me to it.
I use a G15 like many others, but I've only seen one other mention the mouse I use:
Logitech MX1000.. probably the best mouse I've ever had the pleasure of using, and I've not seen any other mice with as many buttons (8 + 4-Way scrolling).
My headset:
Ear Force HPA from Turtle Beach. 5.1 surround sound headset.
I use some random keyboard that came with the case (chorded), and a mx518 on a regular QcK. I don't care too much for keyboards, it's usually the mouse + mat that I focus on (I used to play a lot of cs). I'd like to get a new mat, would most likely get a new mouse while I was there (MS3.0).
I use a Zalman 5.1 head set too, dunno if any of you have use one of those before :> (great positional sound).
The logitech g11 keyboard is quite nice but i find the macro buttons rather annoying to use (no ingame support in any game and creating macro's isn't always as easy as they make it sound)
however the Razer habu suits my needs and i'm happy with it , only personal downside i have is that my mousepad is horrible , but then again , this is purely my problem.
I also recently bought the Steelseries Siberia
Which i think is pretty nice , good quality and a super headset , downside however is the price but it was worth it in my opinion.
I'm currently using a mx518 myself. A tip is to manually bind *all* the buttons on the mouse for usefull stuff to obscure key bindings, like ctrl-alt-shift-T or whatever and bind that to something in-game.
This is also why I love the mouse, all buttons are useful and it has more of them then any other mouse I've been able to find.
As for a keybaord, I'm using a Microsoft / Razer bastard-child Reclusa which is more or less a Normal keybaord in my setup as I'm not using the fancy keys for anything but winamp and "normal" bindings.
Mic is a normal table-stand logitec unit and headset is the lovely Sennheiser HD-595 which, for all intents and purposes, are quitly so amazing. Sound quality and comfort are well worth the investment. If, on a budget, the HD555's are also a great choice.
I could perhaps consider getting an RJ11 -> 2 x minijack setup made (don't know if they're available retail but it's 4 wires and should take about 5 minutes to make) to use my old Plantronics H171 DuoPro® Voice Tube which I "inherited" from an old work place. It was, hands down, the most comfortable headset available for daily 8-10 hour sessions to me back in the day, it should work fine for raiding as well.
The downside to this, opposed to a USB based "voip" headset, is that you need to do some trickery to get it working properly. The USB ones will just show up as a separate sound unit selectable directly in vent.
A normal mx518 with a steelpad under it is good enough for me. And as long as my keyboard (wich came standard with the case) has buttons on it I'm happy.
Dont know why I should have a headset. 6.1 surround system + music and WoW sound tuned down = Win
the plantronics cs50:
It's another pricey item but the sound quality is top notch and it has a 300 foot range so I can walk around untethethered even outside while "AFK" and still hear Ventrilo during raids. [...]I run game sound via normal speakers (and/or have tv/music cranked up) and it doesn't translate through when speaking.
I got this headset recently for my girlfriend. The problem is that it seems to cause a quiet hum on her speakers when it's on, probably interference of some sort. I tried moving it so that it was connected to a different power outlet, but that didn't help.
Has anyone else experienced this problem between wireless headsets and speakers? I don't mind replacing the speakers or audio cable if necessary as she really likes the new headset. I'm just not sure if it's a fixable problem or not.
On a related note, one of the gameroom machines at work has speakers that crackle rather loudly when my cell phone receives data such as calls or text messages.

I still use an MX1000 as well. Tried a first generation G7 and couldn't get used to it having only 1 thumb button (the refresh of the G7 does have two thumb buttons).
A little tempted to buy a new MX1000 to have in reserve in case my current one breaks as it is three years old :P
All the posted Mouses and Keyboards are quite hot, but are there any in-game benefits I have not yet experienced that I would versus owning just as basic wireless keyboard and mouse?
I'm only a clicker on the very minor or unimportant abilities, like buffing, or pulling up Soulwells, everything else is done by typing.
I would splurge and upgrade to a more complex setup, IF there's benefits outside of just looking cool. At this point, I'm 1/6 SSC, and 1/4 TK, with DW and DLK down. I realize the coordination will only increase and want to be "on my game." If such devices can provide that, I'm down.
Also, is it worthwhile to have a 'backup' key board in the off-chance my main goes down? I almost grabbed the gaming keyboard...g15 I think, but I went for slightly less in functionality b/c I use it for other features as well.

For me it's mostly the fact that I can bind more functions to directly to the mouse when it has 8 buttons, which means less reaching to hit keys on the keyboard (I use Q,E,R,F, and 1-6 plus modifiers) or having to click the spells.
Which mouse poster has that kind of functionality to provide...8 or 10 additional clicks? Mine only has scrolling, left click, and right click, I'm severly gimped, and that would be a BIG upgrade for me.
Perhaps I could go and get one at best buy tonight? Or wal-mart (if they aren't el cheapo).
I suggested POST would be..."What top tier raiders do."
Obviously this would be huge, but as someone who's in 25 mans, I'd like to KNOW what top raiders do, from equipment, to basic class mods, to best practices in guild and groups. From there, someone could break down specs and benefits of those specs. It might be alot of work, but as an e-book, consider your market is 9,000,000 people, very few raiders qualify as TOP TIER, plus it's an idea to make money off the game like Mancow and Kopp, to keep feeding one's addiction to play.
In each XPAC what you do changes, slightly, but in lieu of WOTLK, one would like to be prepared. As a for instance, having fishing and FA leveled is that much BETTER. We did DW last night, and I can't imagine being ANY class without FA. Moreover, using Fishing as a means for money, mats, or raid food is huge. Sorry to derail the post, but technology was one aspect of IMPROVING my game play beyond using Stopcasting and Quartz.
I use a Logitech G5 SE. It has left-click, right click, mouse wheel/middle button, mouse wheel tilt left/right, forward/back thumb buttons, and sensitivity increase/decrease, and all of these can be reconfigured to be keystrokes. Beyond the default use for left/right click and mouse wheel, I use middle button to activate on-use trinkets (hold down Ctrl to use the 2nd trinket), forward/back for smart Fear/Banish macros, the sensitivity buttons for Howl of Terror and Ventrilo push-to-talk, and the mouse wheel tilt for pet control macros. My mage/shaman alts have similar setups.
With a 2-button + scroll wheel mouse, I'd only be able to use 1 of those extra functions. And I definitely wouldn't want to after getting used to having all of those functions available at my fingertips.
I'm anxiously awaiting the release of the new Razer Lachesis, so I can decide whether to upgrade my Deathadder to that or the Logitech G9. I really like the way the Deathadder feels, but I miss having more than five buttons.
My Razer Tarantula keyboard is still serving me well, but I'm always on the lookout for something else. My only gripe about it is that the shiny black finish makes it easy to see dust/fingerprints/gunk. I was tempted to pick up the new G15, but after some of the ratings it got, I'm pretty hesitant.
Still in search of a decent headset as well. I'm tempted to just get a really nice pair of cans instead and complement them with a desktop mic, but it seems like it would be a pain of an adjustment. The Siberias posted by someone above look really nice .
It seems that "collecting" the best-of-the-best in desktop equipment has become somewhat of an expensive fad for me, heh.
I use the Fang just like to OP, however I LOVE the fact that it's ambidextrous. It use to be the biggest pain to try and figure out a comfortable key mapping for someone that uses their left hand for the mouse. It's great you can bind so much stuff to be within easy reach. I mainly use the number keys for hot bar functions. The 2 thumb keys control fear and banish. Button over by the right of the arrows is to set a focus. The first rectangle button on the left is a shift trigger, the circle button above that is a alt trigger. The button next to the number 1 is my vent PTT key. The button to the left of 7 is my pet attack fucntion. There are a bunch of other things bound that I won't list, but the gamepad is the greatest thing since sliced bread especially for lefties. The zEngine software is nearly flawless now (has come a long way since I got it when it first came out).
Mouse:
Razor Copperhead
Again I jumped on this when it first came out. 2000dpi ambidextrous mouse I thought was going to be great. Turns out aside from the 2000dpi the mouse is garbage. 1/2 the time it doesn't want to get detected. 2 of the 7 buttons depending of what hand you use are completely useless (left side for lefties, right side for righties). There is absolutly no way to push those buttons easily. Speed wise its great like any 2000dpi mouse would be. The two side buttons that you can hit are really poor quality. They get stuck often or don't register.
All in all, its not that comfortable. Quality is so-so. The hardware is not great at all, and you will have a good amount of headaches w. it.
I wish there was a different high speed laser mouse available for a lefty to use where you could use all 7 buttons (think G7 for lefties).
I have a G15, which I love, and a generic Microsoft Intellimouse Optical 5 button (left, right, left/right side, middle). For the record, I love this mouse.
I don't use a mic right now (I have issues with being on vent around other people), but my headphones are Audio-technica ATH-m40fs recording headphones, and my mic (when I used one) was a Rode NT1. I much prefer the headphone/mic on micstand route to headsets, because I find most headsets to be horrible in quality and the few which aren't are massively overpriced compared to using what I have lying around.

logitech 350 headset , really nice headset i do tend to go through around 1-2 headsets a year though due to abuse.
I just received my new g15 2007 edition keyboard , it surprised me as i had ordered an earlier edition with more buttons and being blue. Oh well its just getting used to keys now, as placings a lot different to my old heap of microsoft junk.
Is my current mouse /stylus set up, it has a wireless mouse on it which dosnt use batteries but can only be used with in the a4 mouse pad area. I also own an old logitech mx510 mouse which gets abused from time to time in cs.
I use a Unicomp Model M. It's an IBM model M made by Unicomp, since IBM stopped making them. Same as the old ones, just new. It will probably last >20 years.
Oh, Unicomp does custom stuff. This one is hardware dvorak. No need to set the key layout, it's built in.
The buckling-spring keys' feel is much better than anything else out there.
I just purchased the new Logitech G15 and I am in love ^^..The extra keys by the left side and rest take a bit of getting used to but I do love it..still trying to train my fingers to remember them without looking

Since we're moving onto audio, I've never really needed a headset for raids and I rarely PVP so I use headphones. I used to have these spiffy earphones from Bang & Olufsen that I got as a b-day present a long time ago, but got tired of the horrible quality. This summer I bought a pair of Bose earphones, which are definitely the best in-ear headphones I've ever tried(even better than ones by Shure):
I was wondering if anyone did have a chance to test and compare new G15 keyboard with old one.
I'm considering G15 but I’m not sure which one I should pick.
