I've been tweaking the looks of this one lately and I'm really liking how its turned out. The chat windows aren't really that small, they maximize when I mouse over them. Any comments or suggestions?
I am happy with this measure of imformation shown, like Dmg Meters, Cooldown monitor or Focus target, but I also belivie it could be a bit more neat.
thanks Friccs
EDITED for content: I thought you were a healer.
Otherwise my only input would be the bright colors being changed to an earthtone or something... Sincerest appologies for lack if ideas, but I felt I owed something after misunderstanding your class.

Reason: Misunderstood poster's class.
That's not minimalistic at all. Minimalistic is having the least intereference possible. All i can see in that picture is a huge grey box, two seriously ugly chat frames, an incredibly tiny map and then i notice the WoW worldview.
I agree with the notion that a proper ui is something that you can use and find useful, but what I don't agree with is that anyone could find that useful.
What's the point of taking the entire screen with the viewport? bring it down to just what you need. Why is it grey? That's the last color i want to see in WoW. Make it black or a very dark color so that it stops taking attention away. Why ar ehte chatboxes so tall when they could be wide? Why not use eePanels to give them a better look, something that is aesthetically(i cannot spel) pleasing would be much preferable to something that jarrs your eyes like those chatframes.
Think of playing WoW on a movie screen. Playing from a distance of your keyboard to your moniter would be jarring, it'd be very hard to process the information because of the scope of the screen itself. This is a very extreme case of why I have shrunk my screen in such a way. I basically made a smaller screen for myself, because, as a healer, my ENTIRE time in a raid should be spent looking at a box of 25 frames, and my UI is designed with that in mind. I need something small enough so that when watching those frames, I can see a great deal of what is happening in my immediate area. The other elements that I must monitor while healing (my cast bar, enemy cast bars, totem durations and shield status) are arranged around my raid frames as well. If I made my raid frames larger, which would have the positive effect of increasing my focus area, it would decrease my reaction time (by a very small amount, admittedly) and increase the amount of space on the screen used as well.
As for the gray, I had been using a black textured backdrop for my viewport mod for some time, and for the reason you hate the gray, I love it. It provides a contrast to the viewport, allowing me to seperate the two areas of my screen easily.
Please understand that while I defend the choices I've made, as they make sense to my own needs, I'm not perfectly happy with the setup. There IS too much dead space, and actually until last night, I have had much larger chat boxes, which was very jarring to me. Honestly, I'm about to disable Omen (as it's honestly worthless to me) and keep Recount hidden, as I don't need to see it 24/7, but that's just removing clutter, and the fact is that I do have too much screen estate, IMO (obviously the people in this thread disagree). Like I said, I've played most of my 2 year wow career (as a raider, I think I can call it that) using a fullscreen setup, and I've always felt that certain things were inadequate, and that this style of UI is a step in the right direction for me.
My new ui iv been tweeking, would love to know how to make borders around chat boxes etc more like what caith has in his UI but cant figure it out. Screenshot quality isn't to great sorry because of image host.
I'm always looking to improve my UI, so any advice that anyone can offer would be wonderful
Why not move your target/ player frame closer to where your party frames are now? It'll make it easier to watch your health and your target's health (which I use as a second focus when clique healing, someone to watch like a tank or perhaps your favorite BoP target.) Also, Move grid closer to the center of your screen? Right now it's all the way on the right, this would cause problems for me because I'd be looking at grid and not moving around like I should.
Further progress - still not sure if I like the concept
Having used all of your prior versions, I think this one is quite unique... Usually I dont like art implemented in UI's, especially when it messes with the unitframes... But in this case I think it fits very nice with the rest of the interface (round minimap, smooth edges around the actionbar), it is not too much and the way you have paired it with the unitframes is a breeze of a fresh air, compared to the common pitbull layouts... The rest of the interface is very similar to your 11.3 version (really liked that one), mainly because of the actionbar and chat frames layouts, both are almost identical...
Long story short, I think it looks very nice, once again . Changes are always a good thing... Keep it up!
My current WIP. I got sick of having a really minimalistic UI, I kept on having to open my spell book or bags for certain things. So voila, a huge block of buttons.
Solo
Raid
Still not sure about this, as I haven't used it in a raid yet, but we shall see. The grid position may be problematic.

thank you very much - this is indeed a good idea!
Give a man a fire and he is warm for the day, but set fire to him and he is warm for the rest of his life.
I have an update on my UI and some questions/requests. My UI is borrowed heavily from Eph and Savantido -- much thanks!
- *** The BG button that is supposed to be by the minimap when I am queued for something or in a battleground, is just not there ! So annoying. Anyone know why it might have disappeared? (I'm using simple Minimap and Detached mini buttons... those are the only mods I can think of that might have something to do with it).
- I'm thinking of moving the chat window up beside the player/target unit frames, unless you can suggest a better spot... it looks out of place there now that I've moved my other things around.
- I've put Recount to the right of Omen, instead of up where it usually is... I normally don't have it showing unless I'm in a raid.
- The Pitbull raid frames on the left are for buffing purposes only. Is there an easier way to show who has buffs instead of using the frames?
Thanks for any help or any other advice you may have for me.

It is possible to have buttons disabled through simpleminimap, take a look at some of those options, it might be off.
Suppose I could've targetted something, target frame appears rightmost in the unit frame box. Target of target and focus as smaller boxes in between player and target.
Decided to play around a bit with EavesDrop next to the minimap (thanks Eph for the ideea)
This is what I got so far :
Above the damage metters is the focus target, the one next to the chat frame is Omen, debuffs go to the right of the Hud.
Still need to get a backpanel behind the clock but I don`t want to install eepanels for that alone. Also omfg trying to align those raid frames, if anyone knows another way beside dragging to align them, please let me know.
Great thread. I have to admit my UI changed completely after spending some time here. Thank you.
I have a few questions though:
- How can I change Pitbull bar textures to recieve different colors of health bar, depending on amount of health left? I saw this somewhere but completely dont know how to change bar's color at 100/50%20% of health left.
- Is it possible to change textures of Violation and KTM? Those addons don't have options to redesign their looks and I can't fit it in my new UI.
Sorry if it's written somewhere. I used search but didn't recieve any useful help.
Cheers
Niceguy.

Which hud is that and since it looks modified, what are your settings? I've been looking for something that looks like, that, and have had no luck finding it.
