BLPs are Blizzard's texture format, used for many games. World of Warcraft uses the BLP2 format in particular. The BLP file structure consists of a header, up to 16 mipmaps of the texture, and a palette. Texture sizes must be powers of two, though the two dimensions do not have to be equal; 512x256 is valid, but 512x200 is not. The first mipmap (mipmap #0) is the full size image; each subsequent mipmap halves both dimensions. The final mipmap should be 1x1.

Also, how did you manage to anchor your eePanels to your chatframes like that? Does it just work with setting a specific anchor (if so, which one) to both the frames, or?

So, I could use a white circle on black for the alpha channel and it would appear as if the texture was circular in WoW. Hope this helps!

Hi,
Thanks for your help. I'm specifically talking about the BLP2 to TGA app Zorg's posted above ( Index of /BLP2), which only seems to be able to convert square images. The tooltip appears to be 128 by 16 pixels. How can I convert the targa to BLP?

Looks great!
Can you tell me what add ons are doing what here?
- I'm assuming Trinity bars for your bottom bars (does this require eepanels?)
- Detached minibuttons is the bar just above your exp bar?
- FuBar at the bottom with various Fu
What is the Little blue item in the middle (looks to be showing your soulshard count)? Some type of cast bar (ecastingbar?)?
Any shots when in group or raid?
Great looking UI, I'd like to copy a fair amount for my lock.

Woops, I misunderstood, sorry about that. It's slightly odd that it would convert only square images, as 128 * 16 conforms to BLP's size requirements (as far as I am aware) - the general rule of thumb is each side must be a power of two. Perhaps the application itself is misbehaving, try these:
- TGA to BLP32Bit
- BLP2 to TGA

Ecasting bar? Where have you been?
The little clue orb is called Necrosis, Why would trinity bars need eepanels? They aren't even made by the same guy.
No offense to that UI but that is ugly. People still use xperl?

New to UI modification as you can see. Actually its a fairly clean symetrical design and other rthan not showing buffs, timers and omen seem well suited for me.
I appreciate the clarifcation of mods all the same thanks.

Why not? Xperl has most of the useful stuff pitbull offers, and it doesn't need hours of trying out different configuration.
I love it.

ROFL.
The ONLY thing XPerl has that pitbull doesn't is the ability to not scare away people who get scared away with options.

Hi and thanks
I'll probably get around to uploading it this weekend, and yes, the raid frames are Pitbull.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. I still believe that switching from X-Perl to Pitbull was a small sacrifice in functionality (don't get me wrong as the aesthetic value was definitely worth it). Pitbull is a headache to get to grips with fully if you're not experienced with heavily customisable addons, and X-Perl is certainly a more user-friendly alternative. An off-the-shelf (comparatively speaking) and informative UF mod, so I can appreciate people still want to use it.

This might be kinda off topic, but it's bugging me to hell, so.....
A lot of people in my guild don't care shit for minimalism or a nice look. I have seen screens with buttons that are so freaking big in the middle of the screen that you can't get your eyes off them :P
However, this is about USER Interfaces and USERs are different. They are gathering information off their screen in a different way and therefore they need different ways to show it and/or place it there.
Therefore it doesn't freaking matter if it looks like shit or not (to you or whomever). As long as it works for that person to get the most out of it.
This is a show off thread and not about whoes UI is pimped the most. If someone likes Titan panel more or XPerl or whatever ... than it's just fine, since he likes it.

I don't wholly disagree with you, obviously people have different priorities when it comes to ui design, but I think a big part of this thread is about critique, discussion and suggestions.

Just bumping on xPerl/PitBull question. I'm using xPerl (which seems to be a shame for some of you), and never tryed PitBull. So here is my point, knowing that PitBull bits 'cos you have to set up tons of thing, what PitBull do better than xPerl (option and lag/memory concerns)?

Pitbull is simply more customizable than xPerl. The major impact that has is in Aesthetics, but otherwise not so much. Depending on your want your information presented (i.e. you're symbolically focused [numbers] rather than representationally focused [bars]) PitBull can become hugely more effective.
The options menu for PitBull isn't that difficult to navigate, it might just take some time to get used to. There shouldn't be any lag or memory concerns from either mod, as far as I'm aware.

People here spend a lot of time looking at and using addons, and while some might just impulsively say "PitBull is better than xPerl" there are simply reasons to prefer each mod. Folks just want warranted justifications so they can help others construct their UIs in better ways. Of course this isn't a race to the middle, but you probably won't find a community of people so willing and able to help better a UI anywhere else (with the exception of WoWInterface andWoWace, of course).
There are reasons people choose to use particular addons over others, and folks (both in critiquing and presenting their UI) just want to know what those reasons are!

What buffs do you want to see? You can show MotW/GotW with a custom DogTag line on Pitbull.
