I had used both unit frames. For Pitbull, I find it has way too many useless options like "where you want the debuff auras to be", making it unnecessarily complicated to set up. The only thing I would use Pitbull over Xperl with is the raid frames.
Oh, and there is also the feature in xperl that it has the "Big debuff icon" on your target for the debuffs that you can apply , (so that you don't forget to refresh the debuffs) that I found particularly useful.
