Healing Assignment

I spent quite some time lately looking for an addon which can handle healing assignment in some user friendly way. I found several ones but nothing really spectacular which I would like on the first look and most actually out of date or not working at all. So is there some really good healing assignment mod which I somehow missed? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: What I would really like to see would be an addon in form of some mind map or gaps connected with their "healing targets" (with some lines or similar) on which every healer can see perfectly clear their assignment (gradient lines for secondery healing target etc. would be nice too). Aswell combination with some performance meters addon would be pretty handy to see direct connection between the healer and their target (maybe including combat log cut), amount of healing or used skills etc.

We use HealAssign in our raids to assign particular people specific target(s). Although I am not familiar with how to administer the mod (so I do not know if one can set gradient lines or if performance monitors are included) from a user perspective it simply creates a window that lists my assigned targets so there is little confusion over who should heal who.

We tried that one and didnt really work out cause of constant errors from it, but I guess we will give it another try then. Maybe it was just some wrong version.

Hmm. I have not experienced any errors from a user's end. I have not heard any error-oriented complaints from those actually assigning the healing targets but they could just be keeping that information to themselves...

I use Furious Task (from wowace) for healing assignments, but the addon is very general and can be used for any tasks. You simply create an event and add tasks, which you then can broadcast to whatever channel you want. Each task consists of an actor, a verb, and a target.

My guild uses HealOrganizer. Drag and drop healer setup, automatically pulls MTs from MT windows in CTRA and oRA2, configurable labels, save/load config sets, raid/custom channel announcement, ability to /whisper everyone their assignments, and the healers can whisper you 'heal' to get their current assignment at any time.

A drag and drop interface would be awesome. HealAssign is nice but the command line assignation get tiresome quickly. I'll sure give a try to this HealOrganizer.

EDIT: It's good, the interface is bliss next to HealAssign.

I've had great experience with HealOrganizer as well. The one caveat is that it doesn't offer enough space for extended instructions. You're limited to a pretty short "Remaining: Float" sort of message.

Using a mod is no substitute for proper raid communication, but being able to streamline pointing out who you want your healers to go to after their tank's target is dead would be superb.

EDIT:Fixed spelling.

I use a mix of HealOrganizer and macros. For instance, I'll assign Phase 2 Kael'thas tanks/healers using it and then write out a chat macro for where people go during Phases 3/4/5 based on what their P2 assignments are.

Given that it offers you 9 assignments and we generally run with 7 healers, I tend to use the "Remaining:" box to write amusing comments with the tiny bit of space alotted.

Heal Orgnizer Mod

I have seen people utilize heal organier but what I want to know is how do you assign more than one person to the same healing assignment.

For example I want Healer A To hear MT1 and OT1 how can I duplicate healer A for both those spots? Can any one tell me pleaseeeeeee?

I am responsible for the healing assignments in my guild, and have written a small php page to deal with my healing assignments.

For assignments I found out that the outline of the assignment was always the same, just the names where different. Depending on who was on the raid. Therefore I made outlines for the assignment, and with my WoW (Healer) assignment tool you can enter in some names, select an outline, and get a healer assignment pretty quick. Easy to copy to your guild forums and to copy paste into an assignment macro. Also you can link towards your assignment, so its easy to reproduce it.

You can check it out at (Healer) assignment (link)

Healing Groups Suck

Updated a year ago, non ace, works better then any other healing assignment mod I've tested, it can be memory hungry if you have a lot of sets with saved people, but hay it works.

Healing Groups Suck | World of Warcraft Addons | World of Warcraft @ Curse.com

I believe the version I'm using is the one that Hangar posted in the comments.

It has all you would want, 8 assignment slots each with 12 allocations sots, drag and drop, remembers old raids, spot for extra comments.

Getting Things Healed v1.0.0

After trying the options in this thread---and not really liking any of them---I decided to make my own healing assignment add-on. So 48 hours of coding and two BT raids later, here is Getting Things Healed v1.0.0.

WoWInterface Downloads : Raid Mods : Getting Things Healed

Features:

* Allows phase structure to assignments, for fights like Illidan in which tasks may change throughout the fight
* Unlimited number of phases (within reason)
* Up to 8 assignment types per phase
* Can assign any or all healers to any assignment
* Scans healers from the raid, as they join and leave
* Scans oRA main tanks
* Announces assignments to /raid or a custom chat channel
* Replies with assignments on whisper "heal!"
* Presets for common Hyjal and Black Temple fights
* Pleasant dwarf spirit healer mascot

It needs talent scanning and some cosmetic improvements. The phases and assignments need to be sorted, and it needs more flexible whisper replying, allowing assignments for only one healer or for all healers.

Oh, it also needs localization. I haven't done it, but that isn't because I don't think it needs it.

But it is usable.

I'm open to any and all suggestions for changes and additions, but note that I do want to keep it as simple and small (in screen real-estate) as possible.

Looks great, Dagma. What about the option to create (and save) more presets? Healorganzier also has this feature.

I'm a nub when it comes to addons, but Dagma is there anyway of somehow adding an analysis of which healer is actually battling to keep their targets up... as in did their target die when they were supposedly healing them?

You can just do that with a damage meter type mod or through WWS analysis when I think Dagma is just looking to make healer organization a little easier without having to type everything out every time with this mod.

Definitely a decent start of a mod, Dagma. I do agree that if you could allow the ability to create your own custom presets and also possibly more than three fields for assignments, Get Things Healed may be what a lot of raid leaders would love.

Thanks for sharing

Just uploaded (to WoWI, see link above) a new version that does that. You can save and delete presets from the preset menu at the bottom.

The new version also has my first pass on talent scanning and filtering in it. I just did a BT raid with it, and nothing exploded, so I figure I'll let it out into the wild. It scans talents and optionally filters non-healing specced hybrids from the healer lists. Talent specs also appear in tooltips.

The phases and assignments are always sorted the same now, too. It was crazy before.

It allows for up to 8. The screenshots may be misleading, I see now. You can choose "New assignment" from any assignment menu to make another row.

Nice! What I would also like is the ability to select the order in which the phases or different assignments are posted to the raid. As of right now, it looks like it is in alphabetical order. What about a set of up and down buttons for each phase or assignment?

Hmm, I couldn't get more than 3 when I tried it a couple of days ago. Every time I tried to make a 'new assignment' it kept over writing one of the three fields after I made the 3rd field.

I'll download the new version and see how it goes when I get home tonight.

Thanks

I think I know the source of the confusion. Choose a name for the new assignment, other than "new assignment," before making another one. Otherwise, it will indeed overwrite "new assignment" with a new assignment named "new assignment."

I'll jot that issue down to fix for the next patch. Just need to add an iterator like "new assignment 1", "new assignment 2", etc.

How intelligent is the preset saving mechanism? Ie if I don't have quite the same healers in the raid will it intelligently put a priest in place of a priest etc?

Edit: just downloaded it and messing around with it a bit. You've got comments for the assignments in the saved presets, but is there any way I can assign comments to my own presets?

It saves the healer names and does no substituting. So no, it's not smart at all. It does need some work.

Right now, the only way would be to edit your saved variables file. WTF/Account/[account name]/[server]/[character]/SavedVariables/GettingThingsHealed.lua. Just replace the list of healer names with a string like ":comment".

I'll think about some elegant way of making this easier.
