Well after some looking around, this forum seems like the right place to post my question....
Basically, I am currently looking for inspiration or examples of UI setups which are very adaptable/already adapted to work with multiple toons and roles without having to adjust the layout of certain frames.
I have a 70 Hunter, Druid (switches between tanking and healing) and a Shaman (again, switches between DPSing and Healing)
I am also looking for examples which may be using Dominos to simulate the WOW Standard rolling action bar so that I don't have to re-keybind all the time.
My resolution is 1650x900?
If anyone out there has any examples of a UI that meets these needs, a screenshot or a PM with information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I've been using TotemManager (availible on wow interface) after doing some playing around with yata and a few other shaman addons like "shieldsup". The mod is the continuation of "chaman2" by the same author. The mod has both the Earth Shield tracker you want as well as status of totems and how many party members have the buffs from your totems..
The only outstanding issue is that it is VERY resource intensive at the moment in 25 man raids. You can literally watch your UI memory climb 10-15megs between each garbage collection, all because of the totem tracking the mod does in 25 mans. The author is aware of this, but he is also very infrequent with his updates. So who knows when/if this issue will be fixed.

I am a fan of TotemTimers. It has a totem menu, earth shield tracker, weapon imbue tracker/caster, and you can make a totem set macro. It may seem a little bloated but you can shut a lot of the UI off if needed. I highly suggest checking it out.

I am trying to recreate my own version of Lyn's UI, and I am having a issue with getting Lyn Stats to look like it should.
Wimpface recently posted his version.
I am trying to get Lynstats to look like it does it the above screenshot (the rectangle below the actionbars.
Mine is coming up with just the stats, no black background and no class-colored border.

Lyn used to publish a UI package (LynUI). I would assume strongly that the image is the entire package which uses a panel mod (i.e. eePanels or kgPanels) to create the effect of a border around LynStats.
Cheers.

Not a Pitbull modification, but you could consider using rFilters2 from Roths UI for that task. Not sure how its going with 3.0 though, if you have any problems with it feel free to PM me as I'm working on a rewrite of it (mostly for my own benefit) that I'd be willing to share.

Yes, I know, I used to use LynUI before 3.0 and since Lyn isn't supporting it anymore, it has been taken down. What I do know is that Lyn did not use a panel mod, it was very minimalistic. Lynstats was configured to display like that. However Wimpface posted his/her addons and thus neither is listed.
What I like about Lynstats is that whatever character you are on, Lynstats's border was colored according to your class, to achieve this with eePanels or kgPanels would take way too much time and really uses too much memory to be of any use.
I appreciate the suggestion though. I tried using an older version of Lynstats and changing the .toc file, but with no luck. I still get a bunch of errors. Even when I use a new version, I can't get it to display right.

fps drop with customized UI
Sers elitists
Im laterly confrontated with a massive drop in fps during raiding. During solo and 5-ppl-instance-play all works like a charm, the moment I raid sunwell, the fps drop below 10 fps in some encounters (30 and more before at the same encounter). All of the following used addons are supposed to be "wotlk-ready" and are updated in the last 3 days.
Addons: bartender, aguf, deadly boss, omen, recount, quartz, eavesdrop, sct(d), classtimer, dotimer, fubar with some addins, tiptac, decursive, bagnon, icehud.
Resulting questions:
1. Any idea / late observations that one of these addons is responsible in heavy fps drops?
2. To figure out which addon causes the lags I only know the tool/addon optionhouse. The problem with this tool is, that the mem/cpu usage numbers are changing too fast for identifying problematic addons.
=> Any recommendation how to narrow the hunting for the troublemaking add on? Of course you can switch of 50% of your add ons, activate one addon after another and hope that the erros occures during that procedure... but that takes time and in my case the problems only show up in a raid environment. Not every raid takes you through a 25ppl-instance so that you can solve your ui problems ...
Any idea & suggestion is highly welcomed!

This is handled by LynSettings, which is also no longer supported. Hope you kept a copy of his last UI, that's the only way to get this addon. You do need to cut out the minimap code from the LynSettings Lua, since it's not working in 3.0. I recommend oMinimap (send a message to haste to get a link for it) or rMinimap (roth's minimap, now on wowinterface) to get the same look.

While just about any poorly coded addon can bring your FPS to a grinding halt the usual culprits are those that collect data or have an expansive database included with them. First thing I'd do is check your recount to make sure it isn't collecting and storing data that you don't need.

For a while now I've been having a very serious UI issue that results in me occasionally having to force quit the game and restart, almost always causing a wipe while I'm tanking. It usually goes something like this:
I'll notice that my Pitbull unit frames are acting up. If I unselect my target, a faint, translucent box remains in the place where the unit frame was, and Pitbull will no longer register changes in HP or display the name and health % that I usually show on the health bar.
What happens next is, if I type something into chat and press enter, my message will be transmitted, but the text I type will remain in my chat entry box. If I press enter, it will print the message again. If I try to hit any of my hotkeys, they will simply show up in my chat entry box. If I try to click my abilities, nothing happens, so I'm essentially locked out of the game.
Last night I was prepping to tank Illidan, I noticed that my target's unit frame wasn't showing up as the proper color for his class. Someone started the event, and I tried to prep a seal, and nothing happened. I was able to type something along the lines of "ohhh no, this is bad" "ohhh no, this is badi need to force quit" "ohhh no, this is badi need to force quiti can't do anything!!! AUGHHH! BRB SORRY!" Of course, by the time I was able to get back into the game, everyone was dead.
I use a LOT of addons.
Atlas
Atlasloot
Autoprofit
Bartender
Beql
Bigwigs
Bindpad
Button Facade
Chinchilla
Clearfont
Cowtip
Eepanels
EquipCompare
Minimap Button Frame
Omen
OmniCC
Outfitter
PallyPower
Pitbull
Phanx Chat
Quartz
Recount
Ratings Buster
Satrina's Buff Frames
And probably some more that I can't remember at the moment, but those are the basics. I use all of these addons, minus PallyPower, and some more in addition on my warlock, and have never had the problem I described above. It only happens when I'm tanking. I've noticed it happening several times when a boss is being engaged or summoned - I think the first time it happened was in Karazhan when I was tanking Nightbane. Since I have so many addons and they are configured so precisely, I REALLY do not want to have to just delete everything and start from scratch, but I will do so if need be. I'm posting this here in the hope that someone might have an idea of what's causing this problem.
Thanks in advance ...
(edited to include several addons I forgot to mention)

This is almost certainly a library issue; I'd start by checking which other addons share libraries with Pitbull (I know Cowtip does; I believe Chinchilla does too; not sure after that) I would then check for updates to any of the addons that share libraries with Pitbull (including Pitbull itself). If you're not sure where to get library names; most addons have a folder called 'libs' inside their addon folder, compare folder names inside the libs folders for the various addons.
If this still doesn't solve the problem, I would probably copy the appropriate files from Pitbull into the other plugins' folders (this shouldn't, but may, cause these plugins to malfunction) If this still doesn't resolve it, I'd do the standard 'disable everything I suspect' and start enabling things a bit at a time etc.
This troubleshooting is going to be helped a lot by being able to readily recreate the problem quickly in game. I would expect updating all the addons with shared libraries should be sufficient to fix the problem though.

Guys I have a problem I can't seem to fix.
The Default Blizzard Error Messages for stuff like "Your Target is too Far away". Or "Not Enough Energy"... seemed to Vanish. :| I don't know what caused it.
You've an idea what might be?
