Quick question here, what alternatives are there to importing your own art into your UI? I seem to recall having read something about either eepanels or skinner being able to do this but I've looked trough both and im yet to see any function that makes this possible.
If you could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.
It turns out that switching on "advanded mode" in EePanels solved the problem. I can now choose my own .tga pictures and it works perfectly, I'd also like to link to this WoW-Europe.com Forums -> How To DIY Textures/Custom UI page wich pretty much details how to go about to get it all set up.
i just made an wowaceupdate for the first time, and everything went smoothly.
but this utterly annoying thing turned up when casting some of my cooldown abilites on my target (such as fearward as you can see)
i can see it could be useful, but i can't seem to move it and it's annoying as hell in the middle of my screen.
it could be quartz or buffalo, or pitbull or something, but i can't detect what addon it is. anyone know exactly what this is and how to move/scale/kill it?
I am looking for an addon, that would show my missed (parried or dodged too) attacks. The reason for this is missing attacks, that do no direct damage and it's not showing up as a miss above my head. It is very annoying to miss Rip, as i usually cast mangle right after it, and if i did it, my dps cycle goes to waste.
Scrolling combat text damage is not what i want, makes my screen spammed too much. Would be great if this addon showed only misses, or i could configure it to do it.

I'm pretty sure Parrot can do what you would like, or possibly Eavesdrop (Though I don't have much experience with Eavesdrop).
You can configure Parrot to only display missed attacks, parried attacks, and dodged attacks to show up in a certain scroll area.
Pretty sure this is an Ace2/Ace3 transition issue with SharedMedia and its associated library. Make sure all of your addons are up to date.
I'm afraid that I probably won't be of much help because I use standalonelibraries to keep problems like this to a minimum, but I had to minorly hack up my MyMedia.lua to get recent versions of ClassTimers to accept my custom textures.
I update my Ace addons daily via WoWAceUpdater, mind sharing that MyMedia.lua modfication, so I can see wether that would fix the problem (via PM if it's too massive to post in the forums).
My next question is, does anyone know how to make things partially seetrough, in other words, how to control the impact from the alpha channel so that parts of you art have different transparency ingame?

If you import your through eePanels2 or kgPanels you should be able to set the transparency. I think. Also, I think you should get rid of the border on the minimap - most minimap addons can do this, I prefer Chinchilla.

SimpleMinimap takes away the border on the square maps indeed, but for some reason not on the round one. I can set the transparency fine in EePanels2 thats true, but i'd like to try and figure out how to do it from photoshop on the art itself you see. The quest goes on.
Edit: thinking about it... I guess I could make an aditional piece of art lying ontop of the first one and make that second piece slightly transparent but I was interested if there was some way to make for instance leafs of different transparency already in photoshop. To have the alphachannel affect the graphics differently so to say.

If I get you right you should use the alpha channel in photoshop. Mark the leaves you want with x % of transparency (hopefully they're in separate layers so marking them becomes easier. Note; by marking I mean highlighting/getting that stapled line around your objects).
When you got the leaves you want with x % of transparency go to the alpha channels and make a new alpha channel layer. Fill it with the desired transparency & a white color. If you want your "first set" ( x ) of leaves to be 50% transparency, fill the alpha layer with 50% white. then go back to your original leaves and simply click them (click the layers, don't highlight them. You want the alpha layer to be highlighted. Just click the layer so you're sure you're only working on the desired layer(s)) again, and press backspace (to delete 50% of the transparency. Leaving them 50% transparent).
Coming to think of it, you could do it even simpler. Make alpha channels with different transparencies (10% 50% etc). Then you highlight the desired alpha channel layer (layer giving 10% transparency for instance) and go back to your leaves. Click the actual layers you want to be changed and press backspace (do the "delete" option).
I hope this makes some sort of sense, and I'm not totally off-topic. (You see, I just woke up 5 minutes ago. I'm still in bed, and this post is the very first thing I've done today..)
How come my aloft sometimes doesn use the chosen texture i pick? Sometimes the texture is the texture i have selected for everything in aloft (Hal M) then sometimes its the default blizzard texture. I will be standing next to 2 people for example, weather its a hostile or a freindly target and 1 will be hal m texture the other will be default blizzard texture. How can i fix this?
Also for some reason the sciprt to turn an eepanel class colored is not working =( my border remains white, help much appreciated.

EDIT :
a bug of some sort it seems. fixed itself.
The mod is "coolDown" and to move it you use the external (but also required) addon "IFrameManager" with this command: /ifm
That will show an anchor for each of the frames, allowing you to place them. Using /ifm again will lock them in place. I got very lucky stumbling on that; there's NO documentation for that addon and I've since stopped using it.
Hey everyone, i'll just get straight to the point.
as you can see i've been having some troubles with Bartender3. First i'll describe the situation.
I just rerolled a NE druid at home, lvled it to lvl 16, got the whole bearform etc, and amazingly, the bars did actually shift when i went bearform so i could use my bearform abilities, so all is well at home, but now comes the trouble:
I installed WoW on my GF's laptop, and uploaded my WTF and Interface from back home to the laptop, to make sure i had exactly the same options enabled the same addons that i use, once again, at home. But somehow when i play my druid here, the 'bearbar' doesnt show, i know it's there because it's Bar 9 in Bartender3, but it's not switching places with the main bar that has moonfire, wrath etc. on it.
This is my problem, now the question:
Does anybody know if Bartender3 uses specific settings or ever a sidemod to shift between the mainbar and a shapebar? if so, could you post the solution to my problem?
i've been trying for nearly 2 days now, but i cant seem to find a solution or something that could help me direct my way to the solution.
If you need more information, please let me know, and thanks ALLOT in advance, i know i havent had an actual answer yet, but seeing as this thread is 37 pages long, think it's safe to say it's been a successful one
I got rid of oRA2 because I realized the only reason I was using it was tank frames. I tried out MainAssist for these frames, but it only gets CTRA/oRA2-style tank setting, not ones set in the Blizzard UI. I'm trying to find one that displays both, or at the very least, just the Blizzard ones, and I have not had any luck so far. Any ideas?

Pitbull has settings for tank frames, and I believe they're tied to the Blizzard setup, as Pitbull is not itself a raid mod. The frames should be enabled by default (which makes forgetting about them when installing, and then jumping into a raid, very interesting).
I'm having some problems with my UI, nothing major. I'm trying to reduce the number of buttons and action bars that I use, however, there's plenty of need for things like consumables, quest items, macros, and various class related spells.
I have three characters - a Paladin, a Druid, and a Warlock. The paladin is a tank, the druid is a healer, and the warlock is short. The spells that I use in combat are able to fit on just one bar on all my characters - that's fine.
However, I'd like some way to organise all my available consumables, spells that aren't on my bar, and macros in one handy place. I've tried Autobar, but it's a pain the rear to configure, and it doesn't quite cover all the bases (paladin seals for instance, as well as greater blessings).
Oh, and did I mention it's difficult to configure?
I guess I'm looking for something like sphere, but a bit more automated would be great. Any ideas?
Provides up to 25 buttons that are revealed on keypress (use /geist bind to set this up initially), on your cursor location. Perfect for consumables, usable quest items, buffs and rarely used spells/macros. I've just found this, and initial playtesting is very favourable indeed.
Shows how it appears when partially filled, and how it looks when adding extra bits.
Alternatively, you could use bongos/trinity/bartender, set up a bar to show on mouseover, which I have also used. Geist gets the thumbs up from me as it is right by your cursor, making quick clicks feasible, rather than having to remember where the hidden bar is, mousing over it, then clicking.
I was a big fan of Geist on my mage--I kept all my portals and teleports there, my gem conjures, amplify/dampen magic, slowfall, etc. I swapped mains to my druid shortly after TBC and noticed a little problem. Geist just uses some buttons from the normally unused bars, but since I had so much bar switching going on for my druid, Geist was unusable (it would have some random bear/cat/caster abilities on it).
So if you have a stance swapping character, try Geist with them. If it works for you, it's a pretty handy addon. I just didn't have room with my caster+shift caster bar, bear bar, cat bar, cat stealth bar, and the miscellaneous hidden bars I assign to stuff like my mouse and numberpad.
I'm looking for a way to determine which of my mods is causing me to lag briefly when entering or leaving combat. I've tried the process of elimination but I wasn't able to narrow down any particular mod as the culprit. Basically I get 1 or two seconds of lag any time I enter or leave combat as well as during certain events in PvP including several crowd control effects. Normally for PvE I can ignore this, but it's absolutely aggravating in the arena. Really what I'm asking is if anyone else has experienced this or better yet, knows the cause(s) or fix(s). Are there any tools I could use to help me determine which mod could be causing the problem? Thanks in advance.
P.S. I'm posting at work, so I don't have access to my gaming machine. However, if it would help, I can post a list of all my mods when I get home tonight.
I've been having issues with SimpleCombatLog not working right on some of my toons, or just not showing up at all. Any have this issue or have another mod that will do the same thing that has been updated?
Hi. I am currently having an issue with prat that i cannot seem to fix. For some reason only half of my General Tab changes font and the lower half stays the same... any ideas as to why its doing this?
Satrina's Chat Frame Extender isn't updated for 2.4, so I was hoping I could get some suggestions for what to use. Features I'm trying to get:
Timestamps
Mousewheel scroll
Short channel names
Chat edit box draggable
Tiny mods (e.g. not Prat) preferred.. and I'm fine with using 4 addons if that's all they do. Anyone know any 2.4 ones that fit the bill?
