Is it possible to have Quartz go in a vertical direction instead of horizontal? If so, how?

Many of you will be intrigued by the question I am asking. The question is about involving the academic world in World of Warcraft.

One of my professors from undergrad saw our dedication to WoW and sought to find a way to make us focus on programming as much as we focused on gaming. His current class is creating addons for Never Winter Nights, but the professor is looking for alternatives. I suggested that he assign them to a WoW addon project as well.

My question is, does anyone know a good location for addon projects looking for development help? If not, does anyone know of a specific project that is looking for help? Also, if anyone knows of a good resource for related information, would you mind providing that resource (not information on making addons, but on creating and managing addon projects)?

Is there a way to get your focus target to show on screen in Blizz's basic UI? If not, is there a mod out there that adds only that function, nothing else? I'd like to see my banish targets so I can maximize nuking time.

wowace.com would be a good start, it uses SVN so your class would be able to hit the ground running.

Does anyone know how to change the font of players' names that float above their heads? I have ClearFont2 but it doesn't really have any options to do anything.

How can i get the health and mana off the pitbull frame? Like the health ontop of the mana but ontop of my pitbull. When i try to put both power and health in the same spot it moves either the health or power (whatever is in that place) over. Im tyring to explain this best i can and i dont have a screen shot, can anyone help? Im basically looking to align the health and power off the pitbull frame to where i like. Thats the best i can put it hehe, thanks in advanced!

From what I remember from designing addons many moons ago, that text is part of the World Frame, and you can't mess with stuff in the World Frame. I imagine this is even moreso the case since textures became protected not quite so many moons ago.

It would be equivalent to changing a cat model into a dog model, or changing the design on the altar of storms back to a pentagram.

You're wrong. While you can't (or shouldn't) change 3D models it is certainly both easy and legal to change the font over people's heads. I don't know if it's possible through Clearfont or any addon, but simply replacing the fonts in the World of Warcraft/Fonts folder will also replace the in-game fonts.

If you don't have the Fonts folder you can either create it yourself or copy from an UI pack that has it.

Updated all my addons today and I found out when I logged in that all my extra fonts where gone. I lost visitor1 in the process ... anyone knows where to get it? I would be most appriciative..

ClearFont2, as of recently, changes the nametags above player and enemy heads, I believe. There's no need to alter any fonts in the Fonts folder. If you haven't updated ClearFont recently, that might be the reason it's not changing them.

I recently updated my UI from a modded version of RebornUI to zTr. One thing that's irking me is the chatframe font. I find it really hard to read at my resolution, and I want to go back to the font I was using. I managed to use Prat to change the chatframe font back to what I used to have, but the editbox is still using the new one. It's very irritating not to be able to read clearly what I'm typing. Any help?

Edit: I finally found the addon that was doing it originally. It was ClearFont, and I didn't see it at first because it was under !Clearfont at the top instead of in the C's where I looked for it...

Hey, new poster here.

Just wanted to know how I would go about modifying my UI or what AddOns I would need to be able to make my UI like Caith's. Since my resolution is only 1024x768, I'm currently trying to rebuild Caith's UI to my resolution, but not going so well. So my main question is;

How does Caith make his Chat Frames, Casting Bar, Action Bars, Health, Mana e.t.c look so snazzy?
What tools does he use and how does he use them?

Help would be highly appreciated. Been trying to look for a decent UI for about 3 days now. :p

Download his UI pack and start messing around with it. There are far too many modifications to make (both codewise and in-game) to build it up from scratch.

The most important Addons+SavedVariables are: eePanels2, PitBull, Bartender3, Buffalo, CyCircled, Quartz. And some not-so-important: Cowtip, Prat, simpleMinimap. Also copy his Fonts and Tooltips folders.
