Hello guys, I'm getting a little desperate here hope someone recognizes the symptoms I'm experiencing: since about 1 or 2 weeks now my interface (or rather, the whole of WoW) freezes now and then, which is especially noticable when combat ends. After combat, it will completely freeze everything on the screen for 1-5 seconds, probably depending on fight length and amount of players.
Due to this behaviour, I quickly suspected one of my raiding mods: Omen, Grid or Recount (XPerl might also be the culprit; got 2 errors last week, but since it mostly happens at raids and don't enable XPerl during them I'm not putting my money on it yet). I've been trying to keep an eye on it as to when it occurs or when it happens more than usual, but have not found that much consistancy in it. I've e.g. reset Recount, did a /rl, and still the lags would occur just as bad as if I never changed a thing. I tried updating every addon, to no avail. Experimented a bit with enabling/disabling addons couldn't reproduce the problem well enough to be sure with pointing a finger at a certain addon (it's most noticable during raids and since we're always low on healers I don't have much time to slack).
I've checked PerformanceFU and don't see any weird memory gains like I expected, all mods seems to eat about the same chunk of RAM they always used to (up to 40-50ish MB). It almost feels like a Windows rig running out of memory to swap more often - yet I have 2 Gig and WoW doesn't even use half of that to my knowledge.
Is there an addon that will enable me to to see some kind of realtime monitor of which addon is eating CPU time? Or a debugging tool of SOME kind to give me more information? Any tips are welcome
Edit: 100% reproducable lags are e.g. on the corpserun back into BT where I'm walking next to my raid buddies - it will often hang while walking back every 5 seconds there, for at least 1-3 seconds (making corpseruns really frustrating as you can imagine).

Alrighty! I'm looking for a bit of coding help, and hope some of the lua-knowledgeable people will be able to help me out. I'm trying to change the color of evl_nameplates to incorporate class-colors for players. From what I can tell, I will need to use RAID_CLASS_COLOR but have no idea how to implement it.
This is a link to the evl_nameplates lua, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am guessing it is Recount. How about trying to raid with Recount disabled for a few bosses? It is not incredibly important for farmable boss fights anyway.

Very true, I'm testing it right now by disabling a bunch of less needed addons to see if that fixes anything, it's just a very tedious job that I don't like doing. Actually I'm on track now, Recount doesn't seem to be the problem but it seems related to either oRA or grid... some more testing to be done. Thanks for the tips

I had this exact issue a few months ago. Whenever I would kill a boss my game would just freeze, most noticeable at the end of a boss fight.
It turned out that when I updated my graphic card drivers the problem stopped and has never happend since. So check to make sure you are running the latest graphic drivers.

With game freezes, the memory usage of the mods makes no difference at all. In fact, unless you're trying to run WoW with a minimal amount of memory, the memory usage NEVER matters. As long as you have the memory, high memory usage mods will NEVER make your game that much slower. The problem is the CPU usage of the mods, but nobody bothers to make anything to track that...if you can track which addon has high CPU usage you will find your culprit.
Having said that, recount is notorious for having a detrimental effect on the performance of WoW.

Also, having a lot of action bar buttons showing will pull down your performance a lot. I had choppy performance, mini-lags and low FPS on one of my characters once, until I removed all unnecessary action bar buttons and just had the most important ones showing.
It might not fix your problem, but it might help. YMMV.

Thanks I will try that! Didn't even think of that since I didn't change a thing since before it started, but might still be the problem ofcourse be due to some Blizzard thingie!
@Slafsinator & Cronax yeah I agree but it's really a pain to test that out, since I kinda have to join AV to reproduce the problem (raids with plenty of ppl, lag in AB seems to be way less). Messing with addons in raids is something I don't like and sometimes can't (can't just remove Grid or Actionbars since I use them extensively while healing). Will try to update drivers and test again with less mods to see if it improves.

What is the really small clock at the bottom of SimpleMinimap, and how do I get rid of it? The tooltip for it is right next to it. Can't figure out how to get rid of that clock. Thanks guys and gals.

Hello,
I'm Usually pretty good with addons, I used to program them a year or so ago, but I have pushed out most of that code knowledge for python and tcl.
I have Just rearranged my UI and have come to the following problem. Grid's strata resides above that of Forte Warlock. This blocks all of forte's popup menu. I have searched through the addon controls for both of these addons for Strata and I can't find it. I would really hope I am missing something Or some one can give me a quick heads up as to how to adjust these.
Thanks.

Rj your problem is definately a mod in the Roth UI package. For your current issue just delete the mod rUnits. You should have no need for two unit frame addons. I wouldn't recommend trying to edit rUnits, it is likely that you would have to edit the lua. Oh... and this wont delete the orbs don't worry!
You may want to read over the Roth UI's addon list to try to catch any other 'doubles' that you have.

What Grid modules are you running? I had a problem somewhat like that and tracked it down to GridLayoutPlus or GridDynamicLayout.

Yes - I think we have a winner here
Been messing around abit but progress is slow due to little time (the time I actually have to game I usually have to raid). I've so far scrapped about 25 addons off of my suspects lists, leaving only grid (and modules) on it. I've also tried to monitor the circomstances the lags occured, and it definately seems to have to do with resizing the Grid frame in one way or another, so I'm guessing the problem is GridDynamicLayout since I don't use GLP (on the top of my head). Everytime shammy was switched groups (for e.g. BL) I noticed a small lag, changing MT targets did the same, etc. Fairly sure I'm close now... I don't know if the layout is checked for every small event, but I finally have a night free tonight so am going to test this and report back, thanks for the reply!

I am currently using Lyn's UI which uses oUF and Lyn's own layout oUF_Lyn. Currently the target frame shows current hp amount and then percent. I am having issues modifying it to show current hp / max hp - %.
I noticed the "local UnitHealthMax = UnitHealthMax" is not included in the local horror section of the oUF_Lyn layout lua.
Can anyone help me solve this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.

I got to like Caith's UI so I thought of switching to it, though I encountered a few problems.
This is how his UI looks like.
And this is how mine looks like.
I don't really know what to do with these Syntax errors, Unknown tags, weird text on my playerframe, and with buffs and debuffs which should be above targetframe but are stuck over it instead. Has anyone had any of these problems? If so, I'd appreciate some help.

I'm currently using (and am very satisfied with) ArcHud. Except for one thing... I can't seem to change the font it uses. Nothing in the addon options seems to touch it, and ClearFont2 doesn't seem to touch it.
Is there a way to change the font, either in-game or by hacking the LUA? Or is there a better HUD addon (and why!) I should be using?

I think Caith stopped updating his ui because players would constantly bother him for technical support in game!
It appears that your problems are with Pitbull. Those DogTags are indeed outdated. You will want to type /pitbull in game to bring up the menu and then edit from there. First off changing the text tags... Navigate "/pitbull > Player > Texts > Health" and change the tag, there are several pre-written options in the window. As for the auras try "/pitbull > Target > Other > Auras > Layout" and tell pitbull to make them display from a different part of the unit frame. You probably want "Side = Top" and "Growth Direction = Up" to make them go elsewhere. Of course, you will need to change tags on other frames but I think this explains where to start fairly well.
Check out The DogTag 3.0 Thread for interesting new tags.
Feel free to pm me questions as long as you aren't asking me to write tags!

agUF help
I went back to agUF recently in an attempt to cut down on the CPU usage of my addons (not smart/patient enough for oUF). The only problem I'm having is I can't seem to figure out how to change buff borders. Changing the debuff border was no problem. This is what I have right now:
Anyone happen to know how I could get the square border (in \\images) to apply to buffs?
