I switched away from Aloft for more lightweight nameplates. I picked up the Roth edited version of Evl_Nameplates. I want to change the nameplates from red to the color of the class though. Is this a large rewrite or a simple edit in the lua? I'm unfamiliar with lua so wanted to know how much work such a change would require before I attempt to dive in.

I was looking in the Share your Interface thread and I noticed that one of the posters mentioned that his solo and raid UIs would switch automatically. I was wondering what mod(s) could be used to implement that functionality as it is an issue that has plagued me for some time (attempting to create a UI that is friendly to partying, soloing, and raiding all at once). The only addon that this user mentioned that I am very unfamiliar with is OpenRDX. I looked briefly at the OpenRDX wiki but as its 4am for me at the moment my reading comprehension is not exactly stellar.
User's post in question: Gurtogg's most recent addition to the "Share your Interface" thread
Thanks much in advance

To elaborate a bit further on my UI.
OpenRDX has 5 buit in preset options for auto-switching,
Inn, Solo, Group, Raid, PvP
Each layout can be enabled/disabled as you prefer, auto-switching can also be enabled/disabled.
Custom desktops can also be configured for other events, ie at certain bosses.
All it requires is configuring your UI within each layout, ie window placement, timer tracking, buff/debuff style/position.
By instaling OpenRDX base, grabbing some of the 3rd party unitframes/raid frames you're ready to go.
For solo you could have one style of unitframes, the Inn UI could use a completely different syle of unitframes. Switching to Group could open party frames, threat meter, decurse frame, High Order Targer window, place the map in a less obtrusive postiton etc, again all could be completely different in appearance to the solo/raid/PvP frames.
Using a healer as an example, the solo UI shows player, target, ToT spread on the left and right of the screen, in a raid the healer might want those frames much closer (almost stacked) perhaps larger as well, this would gain back sceen estate and allow plenty of room for a Grid layout, buffing frames, general raid info.
All this is handled automatically, all you'd need to do is the initial setup (position, style, scale and which frames are shown within each desktop using the Window Manager).
This link gives a better idea of what's possible (although it is rather old) map and other elements weren't handled by OpenRDX at that time,

Does anyone know of an updated version (or replacement mod) for DiscoDice that is compatible with 3.0, and more specifically, with Hunger For Blood?

I switched from Bartender3 to Bartender4 and it seems like Bartender4 has a sticky/snap frames feature. How can I disable this?

I believe something was stated about holding down a modifier key (CTRL/ALT/SHIFT) while dragging a bar but I'm not sure.

Prat wasn't showing anything in the chatlog for me either. I disabled my Cooldown Timer Bars mod and now it's working fine.
The CDT Bars mod works, but apparently not with Prat....

Hoping somebody else can offer more consolation than I can. I've been searching for uh, entirely too long this afternoon and have found no information. Every link points back to spellbinder, or to people saying to just edit the config file directly.
About to give up and move on to finding some still-functional cooldown bars ala hourglass.

I never used DiscoDice to keep track of buffs/debuffs but I can recommend Classtimer which covers everything when it comes to buff/debuff tracking. It has been updated for 3.0.2 and covers Hunger for Blood.
You can find it here ClassTimer - World of Warcraft - WowAce.com

Well, ive also had the chat window problem. Ive tried totally disabling/deleting prat and its files from the wtf folder. Chat still wont work.
I tried installing chatter, figuring maybe another chat mod might force a fix. No luck.
So I started going through my addons, disabling blocks of them at a time (left prat running always though). No luck. Finally at the end I said screw it. Disabled every single addon EXCEPT for prat. It worked.
So whatever is causing it is more than just one addon, some common framework or something I have no idea.

Anyone know if the creator of Quartz is planning to make an upgrade for 3.0? The version I have works...sorta. But not fully.

You could also try NeedToKnow, which does not only cover class specific buffs, but you can enter the name of the (de)buff to be observed.

Well, I did find BindPad, http://fs.wowinterface.com/download.php?id=6385
Not really as great, but I think for now it'll have to do the job. Don't really like the UI of it, but hey, it works!

Baud Manifest
Has anyone tried to fix Baud Manifest (or know of a 3.0-compatible replacement)? I don't think it's maintained, since guild bank compatibility was never added. Currently, its main window doesn't respond to scrolling commands, which makes it difficult to use.
It's an inventory addon that represents your inventory as a (textual) list of items, much like the inventory systems of many console RPGs. You can create categories of items that act as folders within the list, and items remember which category they're assigned to.

I'm suffering from 2 new "problems" in 3.0 as Hunter mechanics have changed.
First, I need a way to keep track of Serpent Sting on my target, so I know when I need to refresh it. It seems like there are some mods out there that do this - Classtimers is the one that seems closest to what I need. Can anyone provide guidance as to whether there is a particularly configurable (I only want to see the debuffs I care about), reliable, and working in 3.0 addon that does this?
Second, I need to act like a real caster now. I am using Quartz, which is very helpful, especially with the integrated latency bar, so that I can time my next cast at the end of a steady-shot. However, Quartz does not include this latency bar on the GCD timer, so after all of my instant shots and abilities (Sting, Explosive, Chimera, etc.) I do not know when I should start my next cast, and I'll often try too early, and then only realize that the shot has not gone off when I see that it is not on cooldown. Is there any way to modify Quartz, or any addon that includes the ability, to show the latency effect on the GCD? Is there a better way others organize their abilities for casting like this?
-as an aside, I'd also love recommendations for tracking cooldowns, so I know when Explosive Shot is ready. OmniCC is ok, but unless I decide to rearrange my buttons and make them bigger, I don't know that it'll work for me.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I realized I could do this probably an hour later. It's the best option anyway, because once I get a flying mount I'll need a context sensitive macro. I edited my post.

You might try NeedToKnow (full disclosure: I'm the author). It lets you isolate specific debuffs (or buffs) and show them as timer bars that always appear in a consistent location and in a consistent color. I use it for bread-and-butter things like Slice and Dice on my rogue or Frost Fever/Blood Plague on my death knight's target.
Elkano's buff bars (and maybe also Satrina's) can filter buffs. I use Elkano's to show all my other buffs/debuffs as icons on the edge of my screen, out of the way.

You could try TellMeWhen (again, full disclosure). For short cooldowns, I set it up so that it shows an ability's icon when it's off cooldown and ready to be used. When the icon disappears, I know the cast went through.
Because of heavy server traffic, links are to downloads instead of description pages.
