Accessing Blizzard special bars

My interface uses Pitbull and Bartender for unitframes and actionbars....my issue is gaining access to special actionbars, i.e. for quests like in the Death Knight starting zones. I had to disable both these addons to get the special actionbars back and complete the quests.

For example one quest makes you operate a cannon where you have to move it and then fire. Same with returning the stolen horse quest. They all have special actionbars that I'm not sure pitbull or bartender support? Is there any workaround besides disabling the addons? I didn't even know there were special actionbars, I thought I was doing something wrong on the quest.

They aren't special action bars. The basic action bar (1-0 + - and =) is what is replaced. It should be noted, though, that if you have it hidden, the actions don't change. The bar must be visible for the buttons to change.

Hello EJ community, I am looking for an addon that lets you see the number of times you extended your Rip, with Glyph of Shred. So far I have been unable to find it, both using the search function, reading most of the posts on the druid subforums, and using google. What I would like to see is a resizable simple box, with a counter, starting at 3 when you apply Rip, and counting down to 0 each time you Shred. Is there such an addon around?

I believe BadKitty : WoWInterface Downloads : Druid has a Shred counter.

At least it looks to from this screenshot:

Thank you for your help, it has really made my life easier. I currently use need to know bars, and quite like them, so I disabled all other features of BadKitty. If there was someone that could further help me with making just a small resizable grey square, with a shred counter in it, to blend in more with the grey simplistic layout of NTK, I would be really grateful. Does anyone on the forum make addons by request maybe?

In bartender there is a feature called 'possess bar' under 'State Configuration'.
Enable this for any bar that you want to 'replace' the standard vehicle bar in Bartender that is Bar1.

For example. I got Bar1 as my possess bar (to keep bindings) and bar4 to see CDs on special spells since I got Bar1 hidden at all times.

Fonts are largely a matter of opinion, but I believe San Serif fonts are basic and functional. Dafont has a whole category of this type of font you can browse through. Basic > Sans serif fonts | dafont.com

I'm not even sure this is possible, but does anyone have anything that manages your addon loadout/profile based on what spec you're using? I really want one entire layout and set of addons when I'm healing as a tree versus when I'm tanking as a bear. Same thing tanking/dpsing on my DK.

Is it possible to add DoT durations to ForteXorcist's Cooldown Timer? I like the way the bar grows as the duration is less. DoT durations would fit perfectly on it, I just can't figure out how. Thanks :)

You can use Chinchilla for the your square minimap and use it to remove the attempts remaining.

As for the boss frames, Shadowed UF will replace them with customizable frames, as will I imagine other unit mods such as xPerl and Pitbull. I know for certain that ShadowedUF will however, so that is my primary suggestion.

I'm using ForteXorcist for spelltimers, and I'd like to remove the spell icons from the timer bars. I can't find a way to do this in the config, so I'm guessing I'd have to go and fiddle with the Lua. I've had a bit of a poke around, but my grasp of Lua isn't really good enough to follow exactly what is going on in the code, and hence to identify what I would need to change. If anyone could help I'd be very grateful.

Right click on any spell you want removed, it should open up the ForteXorcist config window. It should automatically take you to the customising section for timer bars. You should notice the name of the spell you right clicked with 2 options to the right, mouse over them and select hide to remove them from the bar.

It's not the spell I want to remove. I'm wanting to remove the icons i.e. I have all and only the bars I wish to see displayed, I want to have those bars displayed without the spell icons for aesthetic reasons.

Heroic Strike/Cleave in Queue?

Hello- I am looking for an addon that will inform me when I have queued up a Heroic Strike/Cleave to replace my next main hand white attack. I suppose any addon which informs the user of an "on next white attack" event would do the trick. I am not looking for an addon that will tell me when to use Heroic Strike/Cleave, as I already have a number of addons configured for this purpose (ld50_abar, digits, power auras.)
The purpose of this addon would be to reduce the constant key spamming that comes when using these abilities, and limit the accidental use of these abilities when I do not have enough resources. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bartender and many other bar addons highlight the button of on on-next-swing ability when it is activated. The quickest solution would be to use one of these addons, create a single (or however many on-next-swing abilities you want to track) bar with only that ability on it, and resize it to be clearly visible.

I'm looking for an addon that shows me which addon has how much "impact" on the fps. Problem is, I feel that I've exaggerated it ... "a bit". I thought, my pc would be well enough for wow + addons, but I'm always trying out different addons, changing addons etc. It now comes to the situation that outside of raids, even in major cities, my fps is acceptable (30-40), but within raids (especially when bloodlust is used, just as a side-note), they drop to 5 or even 2 fps sometimes. Playing is still possible, however it's not exactly what I perceive as "fun".

The difficulty is, that I don't see that much of a difference outside of raids (and honestly, I don't care about having 40 or 45 fps ) when I start deselecting addons... But I used to have more than 5 fps in raid combat a couple of weeks/months ago... and it isn't really possible to tell the raid before every trash or boss pull "Hey guys, wait a second, I'm just trying another addon combination" to test it out on the brute-force-way - they would like me to hang if I would do so. :P
So it would really help, if there's an addon which displays the impact to the FPS per addon. I doesn't have to be exact, a rough "estimation", maybe even in percent not in raw numbers or something like that, would be good enough. If anyone knows something like that, I'd appreciate it if you would tell me. Thanks!

P.S.: I have PerformanceFu, but the increase of memory usage of Recount (which is always by far on top) or CPU usage is -in my opinion - not really meaningful, because I use recount and most of the high-cpu-usage-addons since ages and I also used it in the "good times", where my raid-combat-fps was not that bad...

Question on UI heals.

Hi ever since I started playing wow I've used add ons (really when i was lv 6 my friend shoved one in my face) Because I used a lot I'm usually good and finding and fixing problems on my own. But this one has stumped me.

I am a turren druid feral(dps)/Healer Thanks to elitistjerks my dps has improved and is being used more but for the most part I play as a healer. My main add on that I use as a healer is healbot. (HealBot Continued)

It's a really nice add on that allows me to keep track of everyone's health bar during a raid/dungeon and apply heals with clicks of my mouse on their bar.

What I am having trouble with is heal bot has a smartcast function that allows me to resurrect someone once out of combat. Being a druid healer I also have my in battle combat. I would like to know what kind of UI frames I can get that will allow me to see everyone in my raid/party and target them at will (within range). I tried downloading pitbull to see if it could be the solution but I couldn't get it to work because of "missing dependency".

I would like to continue to use healbot but I guess the answer I am look for is there a way I can change the way smartcast works? or is there an add on that allows me to see everyone in raid and target them? What is pitbull's link for the dependency? Any opinions on my UI?

P.S. The current unitframes I am using is SpartanUI unit frames. They come with the SpartanUI pack which is the spellbar UI at the bottom. Spartan User Interface (it's nice)

You can target anyone in your party/raid with Healbot, just type in "target" as a spell in key binding interface.

Can anyone suggest a way to run simple macros when entering different "states" (combat, nocombat, mounted ect).
To be clear i want to make my Recount and VuhDo (and probobly something more in future) dissapear out of combat automatically and appear back on entering combat.

something like:
[combat]
/recount show
/vd show

I'm sure there's a neat way of doing it. Maybe messing with msbt (or some other addon) lua?

If you use ShadowedUF or Pitbull, I would imagine you could create a LuaText that triggered on combat events and sent the appropriate slash commmands.

Two LitePanels with the following scripts might do the trick.
        OnLoad = function(self)
            self:RegisterEvent("COMBAT_START")
            self:Hide()
        end,
        OnEvent = function(self)
           line = "/recount hide";
           ChatFrameEditBox:SetText("");
           ChatFrameEditBox:Insert(line);
           ChatEdit_SendText(ChatFrameEditBox);
        end,
        OnLoad = function(self)
            self:RegisterEvent("COMBAT_END")
            self:Hide()
        end,
        OnEvent = function(self)
           line = "/recount show";
           ChatFrameEditBox:SetText("");
           ChatFrameEditBox:Insert(line);
           ChatEdit_SendText(ChatFrameEditBox);
        end,
I'd suggest LitePanels - An art framework - WoWInterface as a good point to figure out how to customize it exactly like you want.
