eepanels2
I have a question for the eepanel2 pros around here. I want to have a border frame from eepanels2 anchored to my totemtimer "GotWood". The Problem is that if the Totemtimers are locked the frame seems invisible, so the usuall anchor/parent function isn't working. So I need a possibility to a) anchor it to the frame anyways or b) a script that checks is a totem is stomped or not.
Thx for your help Shuuk |

If you mean the script in the eePanels2 wiki displays 'nil' when the addon is locked, it's probably still because they're using a guide frame when it's unlocked, but the actual frames the addon uses isn't named. If it's not named, you can't parent/anchor to it. If the addon doesn't create multiple frames (like elk buff bars or something), you should ask the addon author to name the frame so it can be accessed. http://www.wowace.com/wiki/EePanels2 |
If I use the macro for finding the frame's name on the locked totemtimer bars I get the world UI as frame, which is wrong. Prolly I should ask the author for the name of the frame. Good idea.

I had an issue finding a frames name today as well. I did a quick search with google and came up with a nice thread on the official wow forums. It links a mod called devtools. You install it and then do /dtframestack , which will give you a window in the corner of your screen and will tell you the name of any frame that you are currently mousing over (if you are over a stack of frames it will list them all).
WoWInterface Downloads : DevTools Hope that helps you with this (if you haven't solved it already) or any future problems your having. |
Thx Diaa for your help. Though I did not manage to solve the problem. I think the main problem is that there is no real frame I can attach the border to. When I use the tool you mentioned I get a frame name (see screenshots) but that don't work with the parent function in eepanels2. I'm not experienced in programming wow addons so I don't know where the problem is. Well I'll keep searching, thx anyways.
