I have tried this and I am sorry to say the interface really needs work. I found it tedious to equip my gear through a drop down list and also several PvP items (ie cape, ring) had the same name with nothing to distinguish if they are for melee, caster or healing.

Does anyone know of a website similar to WoWEquip? I want to see what my stats would be like with a certain set of gear.

EDIT: I would like to make a suggestion, get rid of the drop down lists for gear. You have plenty of real estate on the webpage so use it. Also the gear list should have names colored by quality (IE purple text for epics). Sort by quality ascending by alphabet.

Spell Healing really isn't calculated well. A priest in mixed Blues/T4/Tailoring epics has 310 healing.

No matter what I change, I got:

-180 Health
-280 Mana

+1.68% Critical Strike
-548 Tank Points

+2.20% Spell Critical Strike

Reloading page won't fix stats, but selcting characters then selecting the profile again will make it work.
After editing a whole set, going from pvp gear of about 290res to full pvp gear my health went down to 6k and my spell crit sky rocketed.

If you haven't heard about it yet, try http://www.Warcrafter.net. It's a Beta but from what I have played around with it's much smoother than CT Profiles ever was. I like the format and design that went into it as well.

Mashing two buttons is the ONLY way to heal.

It doesn't support multiple gear layouts.

It certainly does, though it's under fairly heavy development, as far as I can tell, as it didn't have multiple gear layouts about a month ago.

The sandbox mode is what you are looking for. To safe a gear layout you need to be registered.

I'm gonna back this up as well - I really enjoy Warcrafter. It has it's share of bugs, but you can tell that it is under constant development.

I'm glad to see this is making a come back, Armory has been getting slower and slower as it becomes more popular (and more and more sites crawl it? -- They should really prevent this...).

It's like the Auction House mods, and how they're going to just make the raw data available via UI API so you don't have mods making a million AH queries. They should just offer a raw data dump from the Armory DB updated weekly or something, useless to a casual user but something that sites like wowjutsu and arena rankings sites and such can just download and parse without destroying the DB servers.

I'll say this, I've tried ALL of the online wow-character template websites, and wasn't happy with any of them. All of them are just too "sluggish", have poor interfaces, or other aspects that just really make it irritating to use. I recently re-tried CTprofiles again however, and was actually delighted, partially because I was already familiar with it, and because it wasn't AMAZINGLY SLOW.

The item searching feature, while mostly nonexistant that I know about, is still the classic "massive dropdown box of every item in the game for that slot", which conveniently supports just typing in the item name as it hones in on that specific item. I much prefer that to the Javascripted or whatever super spammed graphical interface search options of the many other template sites.

Warcrafter is a perfect example of what I think most people AREN'T really looking for on a template side. It loads in about 100 different graphical icons on the page, and nothing is a smooth, quick response-time. Not to mention the enormous, massive overload of information that you might not care about in the least at that moment, yet it's still all in your face. I really find that needless and just adding to load times and difficulty seeing what you want to see.

CTProfiles.net: World of Warcraft Profiles Xavastrasz General Threat

I made a few profiles, and it was just amazingly painless, so I'm very glad CTprofiles is back - it will always be better than the alternatives, I think.

I haven't figured out why all of these different pages haven't gotten together to just share their databases and create a database repository somewhere.

If I were Blizzard I would just enable TONS of stats in the Armory's XML. When looking at a Guild and an Arena Team, the XML should include wowhead-style compressed talent data. By not having that data stored in there as well, its causing them far more page views and sessions than are really needed.

However, Blizzard has said they're going to add in an ItemRack like ability, and I bet those alternative sets will show up in the armory. But in the meantime, its frustrating having idiots go "lolz you can't tank in that gear" when I'm wearing cat gear. I'd actually be happy with a website that just let me cache my different sets from previous armory views. I don't need to manually add my gear, I just want to be able to compare stuff from different sets.

I don't think the stats being displayed are working properly. After I made a set in my account all I can see are
Critical Strike: 12.64% (329)
Damage Reduction: 58.61%
Block Value: 27
Tank Points: 20486
Resilience: 24

if I use the link the the profile I get
Critical Strike: 12.64% (329)
Ranged Hit: +-3.24% (169)
Damage Reduction: 58.61%
Block: -8.96%
Dodge: -7.28%
Parry: -3.96%
Block Value: 27
Tank Points: 20486
Resilience: 24

Which I don't think is quite right.

I really like the ability to experiment with gear sets etc, but I think the optimal thing would be a program you can run on your own computer that featches items from the armory. This way it wont be slow and sluggish. Maybe it could even be an offline program with the ability to upload your gear sets to an account on a site like ctprofiles.

I don't know any programs like this except rawr, but thats mostly for druids as far as I know.
