Chat Log Manager/Parser?
I'd really like to have a decent way of storing my chat logs and allowing me to view them at later dates. It would be particularly nice if I could search through them as well and if they were parsed and displayed color coded accordingly (to different channels).
Does such a thing exist? If not, is there interest in it being created? edit: oh, and to make it clear what I'm talking about - I am not looking for an in-game mod but rather an external program. WWS is to the combat log as something like this would be to the chat log. |
Try Elephant - WowAce Wiki
"Elephant logs the chat for you in the background. It saves the WHISPERS, RAID, BATTLEGROUND, PARTY, SAY, YELL, OFFICER and GUILD chats separately, but also all general chats (General, Trade, LocalDefense, ...), custom chats you are currently on, loots and system messages (auctions, rolls, server going down, ...) and combat." You can also enable logging like WWS to "Logs/WoWChatlog.txt", which is apparently what your are looking for. |
/chatlog
/combatlog stored in Logs folder of WoW I use grep to parse logs quickly: Native Win32 ports of some GNU utilities or look for something with gui |

If you're looking to parse your combat log in-game into more manageable chunks (I like having my incoming and outgoing damage separate) then I recommend Yule. Should be able to find it on Curse.

No... I am not looking for an in-game mod or anything that has to do with the combat log.

i used that small thing: Chat Log Parser 0.27 - Info Tracking - World of Warcraft Mods, Addons, and More! i think it should do what you look for. Just cut your chatlog.txt for smaller parts, if its log from couple of days, parsing can take quite a bunch of time.
