Edit: Posting this here because a lot of people have been asking me the same questions.

1) The fonts in the screenshot are: Myriad Pro Semibold Condensed for the chat/tooltip/etc, and the unitframe font is called MicrogrammaDMedExt.

2) The texture I am using is Hal M, included in the Halcyone texture pack he released.

It looks a bit strange to me though, that you choose to leave the right hand side empty. I wonder if this is the layout you're using in a raid environment or if the pic is only to show the layout of the interface... Anyway!

Nice work !!

If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions?

First bit of advice is to remove those big ugly blue bars. I don't really know what they are there for but they don't look right with everything else. You might want to remove portraits too.

Latest UI:

Out of combat, in raid. Cast bar is above raid frames, Target is above me, pet to the left of me, target of target is above pet. It's basically Ryas' layout that I recreated, just a tad differently since I like the entire bottom center portion to be set aside for healing frames. DogTags are pretty standard, but I do have a debuff listing starting, as that seemed to be the most popular part of my last post. I'm trying to trim the list down as right now there are over 50 debuffs and it's locking my system up. I'll probably wind up uploading it when I get the debuff list straightened out. For now, here's the addons used:

I started dabbling in the UI thing way back when Gypsy was new and haven't stopped since then. I did something new for me on my last UI incarnation--I used a compilation. While I enjoyed it greatly, I still felt a little funny not building it from scratch on my own. So, I trashed my entire Interface and WTF folders to start from scratch while pulling bits and pieces from different UIs that appealed to me.

While designing this one, I had a few priorities in mind and I hope they're reflected in the final product.

This UI needed to be flexible. I need to use the same thing for raiding, leveling alts, and doing battlegrounds and arena. Additionally, since I tend to go resto in PvP and feral in PvE, it has to be able to cover both of those roles (I previously had a vertical raidframe on the side of my screen that was a nice low-impact raid frame for feral, but was a pain in the ass to use to heal people). It's also not just for me--my fiancee is getting her own computer/WoW account and I wanted to make something both of us could use. That's one reason why the action bars are shown; I may know where all of my main's skills are, but I don't know for some of my newer alts nor is hiding the action buttons a very newbie friendly idea.

Some of my alts have pets, so I had to find a place for the pet frame. Plus it comes in handy for weird ass quests Blizzard likes to throw your way. I wanted to show party pets, also. Partly because I had room for them and partly because I really hate having to hunt for them in the game world whenever the owner wants to get them buffed/healed/whatever.

I wanted prominent unit frames. The last UI I used had some low placed unit frames that I couldn't see out of the corner of my eye while playing, so I simply bumped them up higher. My combo point display (IceHUD, and the only thing I use from the HUD at all) is likewise placed very prominently.

I was also hoping to have a UI that looked like it fit together. I stuck with a grey/white color scheme and used the same font/texture when possible. It really does a lot to tie everything together.

There are a few things I didn't manage to remember to screencap. Omen fits on top of the minimap when I'm grouped. I have PowerAuras and I'm enjoying tweaking that--right now I just have a reminder on my shaman to cast lightning/water shield, but I plan on adding a few other settings to it. PowerAuras is a nice low impact way to monitor various things.

I would like to find a way to raise the contrast between the health bar and the background, though. I wanted to make the background a darker grey/black, but I haven't found a way to do that quite yet.

Thanks to the various contributors on this forum who post their ideas for me to shamelessly pilfer.

Ok, introducing my new healing-centric UI, with the working title Anchorite.

The fundamental design principle is that viewing a reducing total is easier if the reduction is displayed on the y axis, rather than the x axis used by most UIs. Which is a poncy way of saying I wanted vertical unit frames.

The UI is still very much a work in progress, but is approximately 90% towards being available for download; I'm hoping the feedback from the EJ community will help with that last 10%. I've kept certain UI elements in discrete sections (cooldowns, omen, decursive), with Zbars2 for the bar mods. I'm making use of the feature in that addon to switch the main bar on ALT or if a friendly/assistable target is selected, which should make for easier switching between healing and soloing/contributing to damage.

A lot of the numerical information is hidden until mouseover, which allows me to keep the UI clean, but still get the inner maths geek fix when needed. I'm also using Geist for consumable/buffs/trinkets, again, to keep things clean, some custom dogtags for certain things (replacing the ToT frame for one), and have a hidden action bar for my mousebound powers. I'll be adding in Clique for the downloadable version.

And now to the screenies:

Comments most definitely welcome, questions via PM. Download available Soon™

Ooops, nearly forgot!

[e2] Inspiration - Eph for his Frapsable UI (outlining text in particular), Led++ for my Shaman UI (some elements in here too), and a jinx to Bridonna, your post in the DogTag thread about vertical unitframes came about 4 hours after I had mocked up the first draft of this UI. Looking forward to seeing how you have done it.
