This does work with Wotlk, and great at that. The only problem is that by causing the known target of target frame taint error, it affects the vehicle frame while in combat. This is obviously troubling because in a fight like Malygos, you get put into a vehicle mid-fight.
There was a similar issue with an addon called Expose'; after notifying the addon author, he directed me to an updated version which fixed the issue. I believe it had something to do with secure handler hooks...

Seems like the add-on was taken off Curse, does it still exist elsewhere?

I haven't seen it elsewhere but I can upload it if you want. Biggest issue is that it breaks REcount.

Recount is annoying too me anyway. If you could upload it that'd be great.

Does anyone know if this is still being maintained? Why was it taken off of curse?

How does InstantHealth break Recount? I have had both for a while and didn't notice anything wrong.

Same here. I purged my add-on folder and re-installed everything. Now I can't find this anywhere. Anyone plan on getting it back up on Curse or somewhere else?

Curiously if you go to the original link in this thread or search for Instant Health on Curse you get a file/page not found error but if you go to the actual installation page ( Instant Health | World of Warcraft Addons | World of Warcraft @ Curse.com) you can still download the mod.
Great mod, i don't heal as much as i used to but still valuable

The addon just broke in patch 3.0.8, anyone have ideas what could cause it to break?

I haven't noticed any problems with it whatsoever, last night I tried raiding without Instant Health enabled and found it rather painful.
If you would care to clarify your concerns, you may be able to enlighten me though!

It's not clear to me from the threads and interface sites the status of InstantHealth and LibQuickHealth. Is there a consensus on currentness/accuracy/ease of setup?

To test, I ran Stockades twice, with and without the mod (downloaded from the above link) enabled. I removed my shield to avoid killing the mobs with Damage Shield, and aggro'd everything in there with demo shout. I'd then face away (to avoid dodging or parrying) and would note how quickly MetaHud's player health text would update. (Perhaps half of the mobs' attacks would connect; I'd take bursts of up to ~10 attacks in a half-second.)
Without the mod, the text would update perhaps 4-5 times a second, at most. With the mod, the text would sometimes update too quickly to read (~20 times/sec). The difference was very, very noticeable; I was glad to see it because "my health updates faster now" is the kind of thing where you could easily fall prey to the placebo effect.
So, specifically, I can vouch that Instant Health works with MetaHud. As no mods I know about specifically register for updates from Instant Health (using its "filter"), and certainly MetaHud doesn't as it's an ancient addon, I can't imagine why other mods wouldn't work. However, like an idiot, I forgot to also observe the rate of update of my other unit frames (Pitbull, and in theory vanilla frames if I enabled them). So while I would suspect Instant Health would provide faster updates to any unitframes addons you might care to use, I can't be certain.

I've found with the latest patch that the Instant Health mod has become very unreliable. Quite often my unit frames (both Grid and Pitbull) will show a player on less than max health whereas they are actually full, which can be frustrating as a healer. This will not fix itself until the player takes more damage which seems to kick in a proper health update.
Mobs will often report higher health values than they actually have. Playing on my mage I especially notice this when I cast an instant straight after a cast-time spell and the mob's health often doesn't seem to register one of the simultaneous damage sources. Very easily see the discrepancy when the mob's unit frame shows a lot higher than their floating health bar. Also dead mobs show a remainder of health on their unit frames, possibly corresponding to their last health total before the killing blow.
I have found this mod absolutely invaluable as a healer but I am sadly thinking of removing it from my setup for now. I'm still weighing up the loss of accuracy against the faster updates but the bugs are really starting to get to me. I don't pretend to know anything about mod authoring so my only hope is that someone will pick this up and continue the legacy.

In 3.0.2, real time health updates were added in, so there's not too much point in keeping the addon updated.
Try /console predictedHealth 0 to turn it off, and /console predictedHealth 1 to switch it back on if you want to see for yourself.

This is false. PredictedHealth merely enables client-side "smoothing" of health regen (as opposed to ticking in two-second intervals). Mods that were used to speed up the display of health values used API events to calculate values without waiting for server responses to return the updated health of the unit.

Can anyone please confirm if they have found a current method of ensuring quick health updates using Grid?

Seems your right, libquickhealth is still providing faster updates with grid. It was odd that development stopped right around the same time though.
Grid_QuickHealth is what you want. WoW AddOns - WowAce.com It's inactive right now, but the files are available.

Do you have to do anything special to make that work or is it automatically activated?

Has anyone found an actively supported QuickHealth addon that works with pitbull/grid? Feels a bit odd grabbing inactive versions from 6 months ago, considering the odds that when something does break they won't be fixed.

I stopped using a few months ago because I didn't see a difference with or without it installed (I did test it).
