Just some LUA errors when I open certain windows, such as the addon tab in interface. I disabled them but if you're curious I'll re-enable them and quote them verbatim.
And thanks for the tip. I'll change my font that way.

Regarding the energy bar filling up in chunks has something to do with the new energy/mana regen. Even without smooth option enabled it does not work as intended. For the combo points module I have used Pitbull and it was working fine.
Altough now I have switched to my favourite combo point addon which was updated for Wotlk.

To get this working I mangled Quartz reasonably hard. In doing so, I probably removed much of the filtering code. Given that I was mostly solo-ing it was perfectly fine.
However, at this stage you're probably better off getting an updated version of Quartz, as the author has probably got it all working properly, rather than my rather inelegant (but effective) changes.

I already did and ironically the answer there was to ask here.
|
You should probably post in the EJ forum thread where you downloaded the modification for further assistance.
|
But I don´t expect you or someone else will make such far reaching changes to quartz as long as it´s still maintained by the original author (which I sincerely hope it is). So for now I just consider it a suggestion for a future WotLK version of Quartz to Nymbia.

Anyone know of any Action Bar mobs that work for the beta? The default is terrible. D:

Pitbull buff/debuff replacement?
If the Pitbull "aura" feature has to be disabled, what mod can be used along with the rest of pitbull to show buffs/debuffs?

ClassTimer appeared to be properly tracking debuffs, although now that you can see other players' debuff durations, it just shows all of them. For instance, while myself and another rogue were beating on a target dummy, I was tracking Deadly Poison and it showed bars for both of us.
I forgot to look and see if Demon was working, since I have it disabled while not in party/raid.

A few addons seem to be out of whack with the latest patch. Xperl gave me an error for going into combat, opening the Xperl page, etc, so i shut it off. The "Addon" tab of the interface options has no more set backround when you choose an addon, and just uses the entire screen as a backround. Runewatch config menus are borked.

The latest patch would seem to have done quite a number on my addons - the configuration windows of nearly everything are no longer functional. OUF is no longer working at all, tried Pitbull but dogtags do not seem to be working. Has anyone figured out how to get dogtags to function?

NeedToKnow can do this, if you're looking for timer bars. It also has an option to distinguish between your own debuffs on a mob and another player's (like the Deadly Poison example above).
Edit: Also TellMeWhen for icons.

While playing around with my own addons to make them WotLK compatible i stumbled upon the event UNIT_ENERGY and UNIT_MANA. They were still only ticking every 2 seconds. Does anybody know if there was an official statement on this (searched for but didn't find anything)? Using OnUpdate in the meantime.

Looking through UnitFrame.lua in the default UI code for beta, it looks like mana/energy bars call UnitPower() in their OnUpdate handler for player and pet frames and wait until the UNIT_MANA etc. events for all other unit frames.

Is there a decent energy meter around that doesn't stick to the old tick based system? I.e. something like the default WoW energy bar with a streaming update instead of ticking.
I even tried to hack an existing meter, but I wasn't able to remove the tick behaviour. Seems onUpdate is only run each second or so.

Given the changes to the energy regen system, what's the point of an energy meter? Doesn't the player frame now provide the same functionality?

I think he's talking about something like making Pitbull update energy data as quickly as the default Blizz frames do. Which is difficult as Pitbull only updates frames every so often, rather than the .1s that the Blizz frames now do.

Adoriele is right. I don't need to see when the energy ticks, I need to have a frame, bar, value, whatever, that shows me my current energy value in real time.
The blizzard frame is in the upper left, I need it to be at the lower center of my screen, where all the other information like combo points, debuffs, health, etc are located.
Of course, a band aid would be to be able to move the blizzard player frame to the center, but a) they're simply ugly and b) it's kind of redundant information if you already have something like AG Unitframes showing your player information (which works now btw, just the energy system is also 'ticking').
Haven't tried if Visor2 is working for WotLK, does anybody know if or if there's another addon that let's you move the player frame?

Try this for now, these will unlock the player/target frames. The only problem is that anytime you do a quest that brings up the "pet" ui, it resets the player frame position. You can do a UI reload to make them stick in place after you move them.
/run local f=PlayerFrame; f:SetUserPlaced(true) f:SetMovable(true) f:EnableMouse(true) f:RegisterForDrag("LeftButton") f:SetScript("OnDragStart",f.StartMoving) f:SetScript("OnDragStop",f.StopMovingOrSizing)
/run local f=TargetFrame; f:SetUserPlaced(true) f:SetMovable(true) f:EnableMouse(true) f:RegisterForDrag("LeftButton") f:SetScript("OnDragStart",f.StartMoving) f:SetScript("OnDragStop",f.StopMovingOrSizing)

Question about Beta/3.0.2
Are the Beta AddOns going to be useful for 3.0.2 - or the Live AddOns?

3.0.2 will include all changes to the API and the user interface, so addons that works in the beta will work.

That helped tremendously, thanks.
To lock the frame again you can use
/run local f=PlayerFrame; f:SetMovable(false); f:EnableMouse(false)
However you won't be able to unlock it again then, without doing a reload UI.
What also helped was to scale the frame with
/run local f=PlayerFrame; f:SetScale(1.3)
Scaling will be lost after a reload UI.
Now if I could only remove the portrait display as well. Dragging out PlayerFrameManaBar only unfortunately doesn't work.

Fluidframes should do the trick, only tricky part is finding the correct anchor, anything you don't want you can then simply drag of your screen, crude but effective.
