Pitbull's MT frames are compatible with oRA2 and excellent; that's one option for you.

Really? I never noticed that, they seemed to show only MTs when those were selected via the Blizzard-UI. Do they take MTs from Ora2 automatically or do I need to turn an option on/off?

They do it automatically for me. oRA2 has to be installed. Weird things might happen if both Blizzard and oRA main tanks are set.

Disparity between oUF and Grid still exists for me, even after the latest oUF_QuickHealth commit.

Which begs the question, why is this a library at all? When would you ever want one unitframe to have it and not another? Just make it a single addon. A cleaned-up version of InstantHealth, if it did indeed need cleaning up.

Um, having it as a library means it's easier for all of your mods to use it, not harder. It provides functions for mod writers to call that would update the health correctly, which means mod authors would be able to incorporate it the best way possible for their mod. If it were written as a standalone, it would instead have to detect the frames used by other mods and overwrite them, which isn't incredibly pleasant.

Thats simply not possible, there is no way to force the health updates to addons except using the way that instanthealth used. Which will bring all the taint issues that instanthealth has back. Your best bet would be to ask the addon author to have an extra look at the plugin and see if anything needs tweaking.

edit: Haste (the oUF author) is asking what version of oUF you are using.

It's not a tank's job to keep everyone alive, it's the tank's job to keep the competent people alive. if that's the entire party, it's a good day

You'll need a oUF version equal or greater than 1.0.1 for oUF_QuickHealth to work properly. The current git master version of oUF will also block oUF_QuickHealth from working if you have the WotLK option frequentUpdates enabled.

Definitely seeing this a lot. Going to have to disable the mod or go back to InstantHealth until it's fixed.

I've only seen grid do that when the unit was a player with a pet in raid with the same name.
Confusing because I thought the new combat log can distinguish between characters / mobs of the same name.

Yes, I've seen that Grid bug too. Opened a ticket on it -- the author said it was known and to wait for Grid2.

This problem is definitely not related to that bug.

In general, PitBull seems to show a more accurate representation of current health than Grid. This was the case regardless of using IH or LQH, so perhaps it is a problem with Grid?
I know this is a bit old, but I finally got around to taking a screen shoot of what I mean: (iS) Image Socket » View image

The Grid frame in question is the red-colored one, which coincides with my target. As you can see, PitBull shows a MUCH smaller health deficit than Grid does, as it does not seem to have updated yet. This seems to happen quite frequently, I just never managed to get a screen shot of it.

We've been running old school MC runs. Had the weirdest thing happen on Ragnaros. 2 of the party (Warrior and Enhancement shaman) would have their health drop to 1 on both Grid and Pitbull - like the Prince enfeeble display.

Now, this has only happened there, and nowhere else. Talking to others in the raid, their Grid was fine, so it was something local to me.

Selecting the person in the display would show a very large negative number for their health. Only those 2, only there.

Really weird. I have no other information, and no answers, but would be interested to hear if others have seen this.

Pewsey has heard about tact and discretion, but tends to regard them much as children view vegetables.

Same experience about a month ago on Ragnaros with Grid running Instant_Health. Only happened with the tank (warrior), but certainly added some excitement on my end.
