[Macro] Tracking Type to Match Target?

So, with the beta release talents for hunters, specifically the replacement of Humanoid Slaying and Monster Slaying in favor of Improved Tracking (5% increased damage to tracked target-type), I began thinking about whether it'd be possible with the current macro system to make a one button tracking where it would determine the target-type, and then cast the appropriate tracking, and if no target currently, then default to track hidden/find minerals/herbs, etc.

Unfortunately I don't know much about the determining type part of this idea, which is why I thought I'd post here to see if someone more versed would know the answer to this and be able to provide a way to perform this, or whether it's no longer possible with the removal of "if" statements (i.e. before 2.0).

Thanks for input and I look forward to response, however it ends up.

Pretend I typed something witty.

You don't even need a macro, changing tracking isn't secure and it doesn't require a key press so nothing should stop you from making a mod to auto swap tracking it wouldn't be that complicated, but that doesn't mean Blizzard won't fix it so you can't do that.

Maybe I'll look into that once beta keys arrive if someone else hasn't.

Well the reason I asked for it in a macro is I don't want it to just auto-switch every time I change targets, I just want it to happen 'on-keystroke' so I have control over when it changes. Though I'm sure this could easily be implemented with the same mod you just mentioned.

Unfortunately I know next to nothing about XML and LUA scripting, so I'd have to ask someone else to do this. :< If there is someone so generous though as to make a macro/mod for this, I'm sure especially once WotLK goes live that there would be quite a few followers for it.

So a mod is able to turn on Track Hidden when it notices a rogue stealthing in the combat log? Interesting.
