Was it always like this?
Changing this may have been part of the change that removed Garrote on Moroes' death.

Just a heads up on a bug.
I tried to save a runs data and got an error message, I am guessing all the extra recording stuff you have added has broken that in some way

Hmmm actually I think that might of been always broken in the project I branched from and thanks for the reminder on that bug forgot about it (only tried to save once and was in the middle of raiding so didn't have time to make note of it).
Things like Garrote & Shatter adding to player damage isn't an issue that can be addressed directly though I'm adding something in so by default "Friendly" damage is counted seperately so you can easily see what players did the most friendly damage while also not counting it in their total.

Try the alreade mentioned /script recap={};ReloadUI()
If you had a previous version of Recap installed, this will most likely fix it.

I use Hawksy's Recap and I am happy with it. However, I just speced Soul link and it is showing that as damage done (which is true, just not something I want to track), is there a way to remove it from being tracked?

I had a few PM conversations with Gello a while ago about the original version, it counts damage a warlocks does to themselves with Hellfire.
He had it on his list of things to fix but dropped the project before doing so.
This could be a similar deal for you with Soul link, could you test with Hellfire and see if it counts that?
If it does I guess its a matter of asking if the current authors can look in to fixing it.

Just a small bug report with the latest version, if there's an apostrophe in a name Recap tends to attribute the damage wrongly. For example at Prince Malchezaar, the entity name for his axes in phase three is Prince Malchezaar's Axes.
The apostrophe makes it so that it gets recorded under Prince Malchezaar, as an ability called Axes. (This caused me some confusion earlier as I thought it was a special but it was capable of critting, it's not, the axes are a seperate entity)
Not sure if this only happens if there is an existing entry with the name, or specifically with "'s".

That's a generic problem that plagues every combat parser. In general, when a mob uses an ability it's logged as "mob's ability hits target for blah damage" or similar; when either the mob name or ability name has an apostrophe-s in it, accurate parsing becomes impossible without foreknowledge of the mob's or ability's name.
Favorite example: "Twilight's Hammer Guard's Twilight's Hammer hits you for ...". To a human, it's relatively clear that the mob is named "Twilight's Hammer Guard" and it is using the ability "Twilight's Hammer", but there's no easy way to communicate this to a parsing engine. It could be the mob "Twilight" using the ability "Hammer Guard's Twilight's Hammer", or a mob named "Twilight's Hammer Guard's Twilight" using the ability "Hammer", or the above example; there's no easy way to resolve this.

Yes, I remember also scrolling combat text has (had?) this problem, showing me normal white attacks of a mob as a special attack.

Would there be an easy way to get absorptions listed in power gains? Or even in my 'healing' done part?
Reason is that I'd like to see how much 2set Warbringer absorbs in a typical fight. Amount of damage blocked could be cool too, but I guess that can be derived from hits, %blocked hits at the end of the fight, and my block value.

Thats a bug with Parserlib unfortunately and not Recap.

Recap is broken since today, I'm guessing it's because some of the libraries may have been updated very recently.
Getting a screenshot / bug report for you when I'm free from work.

May be an entirely unrelated coincidence, but my button icons disappeared with the patch, going through and disabling addons one by one revealed Recap to be the culprit though I have no idea why that would be.

Hmm I just stepped on these developments. Hawksy also puts in a lot of effort into recap and it really seems like it would be nice to have the best of both worlds somehow. Is there any chance that you guys stick your heads together and merge the respective developments?
Certainly crushing counts would be very cool to be in hawksy's version, but his motion to syncing, to adding tank-only backlogs, tick counts etc is also very handy. Really would love to have it both.
Also certainly I'd love to have proc counts embedded in recap.
P.S. Just read that Hawksy's version also has crushing blow counts now.

I keep getting this error where I'll randomly disappear from the list of targets that did damage and it'll stop measuring my DPS. When my bar appears again, the "Time" on my damage will be way lower than that of my group members. Anyone know why this happens/what I can do about it?

I don't have a clue what's causing it, but /recap no longer works for me. It doesn't even go through the chat, it refuses to allow me to press enter to send the command. I don't know how to get the window back from a hidden state without going into the variables and changing it manually. (naturally something I can't do efficiently during a raid.. :P)
Any thoughts? No error messages, just the command being stubborn.

This happened to me before. I ended up having to go into my SavedVariables folders and delete anything with "Recap" in the filename. That fixed it for me. I didn't really have any significant customizations, so losing all the settings wasn't a big deal.

I get this too. Mostly I notice it when I check the last fight tab and me or another group member is completely missing from the list or it just stops recording my damage suddenly during a instance run. Haven't noticed a pattern or been able to reproduce it though.
