Anyone have thoughts on a moonkin (34/0/27 or 40/0/21, I haven't decided yet) weighting?
Otherwise I'll probably just munge some values from DrDamage once I do respec. I have a few too many bits of possible moonkin gear sitting in the bank about which I need to make some decisions. Contemplation of 20-slotters for the bank clearly means time for a bit of bank cleaning

After some heavy number crunching I think I came up with pretty good elemental shaman numbers (at least they work for my gear):
["Elemental (PvE)"] = {
["Values"] = {
["Intellect"] = 1.74,
["RedSocket"] = 27,
["SpellCritRating"] = 3.5,
["SpellPenetration"] = 0.4,
["Mana"] = 0.03,
["Stamina"] = 1,
["MetaSocket"] = 36,
["YellowSocket"] = 27,
["Armor"] = 0.015,
["Health"] = 0.015,
["BlueSocket"] = 27,
["SpellHitRating"] = 2,
["SpellPower"] = 3,
["Mp5"] = 4,
["NatureSpellDamage"] = 2.7,
},
},

I should share my warrior weightings.
The TankPoints weightings are straight from the TankPoints UI mod.
The DPS ratings are based off converting to str-equivalence, given current gear.
["TankPoints"] = {
["Values"] = {
["BlockRating"] = 1.2,
["RedSocket"] = 159,
["BlockValue"] = 0.6,
["DodgeRating"] = 15.9,
["ParryRating"] = 9.6,
["YellowSocket"] = 159,
["Agility"] = 10.4,
["Health"] = 2.65,
["BlueSocket"] = 159,
["Stamina"] = 26.5,
["DefenseRating"] = 20.6,
["Armor"] = 1.05,
["Resilience"] = 8.800000000000001,
},
},
["PvP"] = {
["Values"] = {
["RedSocket"] = 4,
["CritRating"] = 0.66549,
["Strength"] = 1,
["Ap"] = 0.5,
["Armor"] = 0.01666666666666667,
["Agility"] = 0.44567,
["HitRating"] = 0.93084,
["BlueSocket"] = 4,
["Stamina"] = 0.6666666666666666,
["Health"] = 0.06666666666666667,
["YellowSocket"] = 4,
["Resilience"] = 0.2222222222222222,
},

Here are my MM hunter weightings. Key points around them:
- I don't price hit / mp5 / stam, as I tend to juggle those for particular gear sets
- Based on unraidbuffed values as I only do heroics and Kara atm, so don't pot to the max. My stats are around 2090 AP, 21.88% crit self-buffed
- Values arrived at using a (faintly tweaked) Lactose spreadsheet
- I assume all gems are +16 AP living rubies, as I love to grind
Array for readability:
["Raw DPS"] = {
["Values"] = {
["Intellect"] = 0.45,
["Agility"] = 1.9,
["MetaSocket"] = 20,
["Ap"] = 1,
["CritRating"] = 1.56,
["RedSocket"] = 16,
["BlueSocket"] = 16,
["Rap"] = 1,
["YellowSocket"]
[top] 16,
},
},
String for /pawn import goodness:
(Pawn: v1: "Raw DPS": Intellect
0.45, RedSocket=16, CritRating=1.56, MetaSocket=20, Agility=1.9, BlueSocket=16, Rap=1, YellowSocket=16, Ap=1)

Also a thank you from me for informing me of Pawn. Very helpful mod.
Some Fury Warriors may be aware of Theesa's thread on the WoW forums awhile back - http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...75307661&sid=1 . I liked her (or his) rating system, so I used it with Pawn. If you also liked it, below are the numbers I used. Her justifications for those numbers can be found within the thread, I won't defend them if you don't like them.
Theesa gives two ratings, one without any socketing included, and one with the maximum socket power available, so I used two Pawn values. I don't believe s/he gave definite values for the sockets in the thread, however, so I just reverse engineered them. I will also note that the "DPS" value is not of Theesa's making, and is completely my own, and I DEFINITELY do not vouch for it either. I am the last person you want doing these calculations for you, believe me! I created the number off of Theesa's calculation that 1 Attack Power is worth 4 points, and the fact that 14 Attack Power is equal to 1 DPS, so 4 x 14. I really don't know if it's accurate or not. Luckily, at least Theesa's numbers all fit her equipment ratings as they're posted in that thread, so you can just take any weapon DEP with a grain of salt (or remove the DPS value altogether).
The weapon ratings (ex: axe rating) are also based off the assumption that 1 axe rating = 0.1 hit and 0.1 crit (which were the numbers as I remembered them, correct me if I'm wrong).
Ok, enough disclaimers.
["Fury DEP (w/ Max Sockets)"] = {
["Values"] = {
["CritRating"] = 4.55,
["SwordRating"] = 0.846,
["2HSwordRating"] = 0.846,
["Agility"] = 3.125,
["YellowSocket"] = 50.2,
["UnarmedRating"] = 0.846,
["RedSocket"] = 64,
["2HMaceRating"] = 0.846,
["Dps"] = 56,
["Strength"] = 8,
["MetaSocket"] = 96,
["MaceRating"] = 0.846,
["2HAxeRating"] = 0.846,
["HitRating"] = 3.91,
["BlueSocket"] = 32,
["AxeRating"] = 0.846,
["CrossbowRating"] = 0.846,
["DaggerRating"] = 0.846,
["Ap"] = 4,
},
},
["Fury DEP"] = {
["Values"] = {
["2HAxeRating"] = 0.846,

(Pawn: v1: "RubyMax": SwordRating=0.846, 2HSwordRating=0.846, MaceRating=0.846, 2HMaceRating=0.846, AxeRating=0.846, 2HAxeRating=0.846, DaggerRating=0.846, UnarmedRating=0.846, CritRating=4.55, HitRating=3.91, Ap=4, Dps=56, Agility=3.125, Strength=8, RedSocket=64, YellowSocket=64, BlueSocket=64, MetaSocket=96)
The above fury scales with sockets valued at color value and again at max usage of 8 str gems. The only thing is, I think weapon skill may be undervalued based on the wow europe forum thread.

Almost non existant in my opinion.
Rogues have to rely on avoidance, not on mitigation.
Running around in 2000 armor or 4000 armor doesn't really make a difference, it will be a one/two shot anyways when we gain aggro.

Point taken. I was actuallly thinking of a mitigation measure for 5v5 arena, and even then, only to provide separate measures for the dps (pf's spreadsheet) and mitigation (tankpoints) value of specific pieces of gear.

Question for those writing ratings: Why not value str at 1.1 vs AP at 0.5 for warriors? Sure, you may not always have a paladin with you, but you should always take str over AP when in the same quantities.

Hi,
I've been reading EJ forums for over a year and it has been my favorite place for theorycrafting ever since.
Since there are lots of misconceptions about TankPoints in this thread, I'd like to clear things out a bit.
I designed and developed the TankPoints formula and addon over 2 years ago, it was the first of all item evaluation addons and still the only one using a meaningful dynamic system.
TankPoints is designed as a dynamic points system, calculated mathamatically using well known game dynamics, the points are not mearly just a meaningless benchmark value like other wow item benchmarks.
It calculates how many points each stat is worth according to your current gear setup, it does so to help you obtain the best balance between all "defensive stats".
For one person, TankPoints may say that 1 Stamina is worth more points then 1 Defense Rating, but for another tank that has a too much Stamina it will show that 1 Defense Rating is worth more then 1 Stamina. Point values are not static and is custom for your current gear and stat.
TankPoints is directly proportional to how long a given opponent takes to kill you, which is known as survivability or time to live in some articles.
The more TankPoints you have means you will live longer without getting heals, this is very important to healers because it means how much time you give the healers between heals, to the healer this is directly related to how eazy it is to heal you.
Most people think that TankPoints(survivability or time to live) doesn't consider healers mana, and only having high total reduction will help save healers mana. But thats not true, having high TankPoints can help healers regen mana, because the more time your healers have between heals the more mana they can regen.

Could anyone share healing values just so I can have a benchmark idea?
Thanks.
Also couldn't we also use one colored gems to determine the way that blizz assumes the values to be. For example healing gems:
Red - 18 healing
[top]
Blue - 3 Mp5, 8 Spirit
Yellow - 8 intel
Blah I'm stumped.

Items are allocated stats (to varying degrees of accuracy) according to a well-understood formula: http://www.wowwiki.com/Formulas:Item_Values (a bit out of date, but good enough for this purpose)
From this we can see that 1 int is allocated equivalently to 1.5 sta, ~2.2 +healing, etc, 0.2mp5, etc. You can work out the total value of each gem taking into account the slight diminishing returns on stacking a stat, but I'm not sure I see the point - the equivalencies used in making items don't apply to actual players, just like I don't stack STR gems on my mage.

Meaningful is of course debatable, but HealPoints also use a dynamic system and not static item stat weighting.

From my experience, TankPoint seems to emphasize avoidance over stamina/mitigation. I find that starting at SSC/TK and T5 gear, TankPoint finds that practically all the new drops at those levels are not worth getting. Tanking gear from SSC/TK usually have comparable or sometimes even lower TankPoints than T4/KZ gear. The reason is that a lot of SSC/TK tanking gear has high Stamina, Block Value, Armor, and sometimes Hit rating. It seems like Blizzard is leaning towards giving end-game raiding tanks higher Stamina and threat generation at the expense of total damage avoidance, which seemed to be the focus in KZ-level gear.
http://evilempireguild.org/guides/after490.php
As Satrina says, the debate between high avoidance vs high stamina/mitigation/threat-gen has been going on forever. Thus far, I've mostly been an avoidance tank, and TankPoints suited my purposes very well. But I've noticed my threat generation continuously dropping from being rage starved since my avoidance is so high, so I'm going to experiment with toning down avoidance and toning up stamina/mitigation. TankPoints doesn't handle that well.

Thanks foer posting this link, i searched for something like this for a long, long time .
Now they only need the possibility of uploading your profile and automatically generating the stats like DrDamage does and I would be in paradise .

Asleep at the wheel...

Just posted today:

ItemValue displays the value of items (based on StatSets you can define) in their Tooltips. Similiar to HunterAEP, TankPoints, Pawn.
Main Features:
* ItemBonusLib to scan Items
* Many customization possibilities for the compare function (delta, absolute, percent)
* Unlimited number of Sets and SetTypes (I'm working on a Rogue Set atm.)
*
o The default Set is "StatSet" which lets you define a value for every (useful) Stat ItemBonusLib provides.
* The Sets can be sent to other ItemValue users. (/iv sets send <Recipient> <SetName>)
Support for Jewels and Enchants:
* You can decide if enchant should be included in the calculation, ignored, if item values should be calculated with you own enchants instead, etc.
* You can specify a default jewel, which will be used if an item has an empty socket.
Best Jewels
* This function calculates the best possible jewel combination for a given Set and ItemLink. (/iv bestjewels <SetName> <ItemLink>)
* Uses the built-in database of about 200 jewels and can on-the-fly add new jewels as you see them.
* Powerful filter function which allows you to en/disable every jewel independently, quick disable [quality] and disable [part of name] is also possible.
Equipment Value
* Shows the sum of all item values of your equipment in the character sheet.
* Planned: Equipment Value of your target in the inspect frame (at the moment just in the chat)
You can open the Waterfall GUI with /iv gui.
