This is designed specifically with healer's in mind, but also useful to any class in a 5-man or the Arena. It's designed with redundancy in a few key places, a focus on the playing field in one on one or small group play, and the ability to focus on the entire raid and combat logs.

This is the UI I wish to end up with. Everything BUT the hud for focus, tot, party and pets is available.

Who knows any hud developers that might be interested and able to make the hud for the remaining targets a reality? I tried opening up the hood on drathal's hud and metahud, but it's beyond me.

By Grid do you mean the spell/ability boxes, or the mod Grid for group members? If you mean your ability grid you can do all of that with bongos.

I know that with skinner you can adjust the viewport for the bottom area, and add in some extra graphics if needed.

Squeenix is one of the mods that will give you a square map.

AGUnitFrames should give you enough options to adjust detailed focus and self info, along with party members.

As far as stuff above the trinkets+consumables area I can't really give any input on.

I don't know how you will be able to see your chat/combat log in windows that small. Then right next to it you have a large square for bag? Is that for an open bag? or for your bag buttons?

Show me on the paper doll where the devs nerfed you.

Nurfed would be your best bet as a starting point. It would mean creating your own graphics, and lua coding your layout on your own, but you could get exactly what you want without having to code up a brand new HUD from scratch. All of the background functionality you described is available in Nurfed.

If you are interested in taking something apart and figuring it out, I recommend Iriel's StatRings. I'm not sure if it's 2.0-safe, or if it needs work in that area, but it was originally a proof-of-concept HUD, so it should be easy to take apart.

See you, auntie.

Re: all comments not related to the hud-style bars - Thank you for your comments/concerns, but my screen size and mods used make it possible (done in fact) although it's hardly extraordinary or worth further comment imho.

@Andeh and Apate - Yeah, I tried looking under the hood of metahud and drathal's hud but I can't tell a door from a wall in there. Without some kind of roadmap I doubt I'll be able to make greater progress within Nurfed or Statrings (which is currently discontinued until the author gets some free time).

Would it be rude of me to bring the "request/challenge" directly to an author of such mods? I'm thinking it would come off as presumptuous.

I'd head to the official UI forums first, you may find some other author with time on his/her hands. Most of the authors who have developed the mods you mentioned read them as well. There's also the Wowinterface forums. I think making a request is a good idea, but I'd take it to a larger population before I took it to specific authors.

EDIT: I see your post, nevermind :P

Might also want to take a look at ArcHUD2's code. Seems a bit more accessable to my limited LUA / intermediate programming brain at least. It already has all of the goodies you're after with the exception of group health/mana (though I think it did at one point in the past... maybe v1).

It shouldn't be terribly difficult to change the bars to make a smaller degree arc.

If something comes of it, I would certainly be interested. Looks like a very nice setup! If I can find the time I may take a stab at the HuD myself. Nothing useful should be expected to come of it though--I'm not that confident in my LUA-fu.

Just a quick update for those interested. I found in Archud2 what may be the path of least resistance.

One of the earlier official releases of Archud2 had the lua for party bars, but it was moved to the tmp folder and later removed completely from the download, because the author did not intend to make it a party interface replacement.

Unfortunately I've been too busy to get in-game for just now over a week and will not be able to check it out until tomorrow night at the earliest.

Long time no update. So here's the status:

Everything, but the HUD is set up, unfortunately, I'm too busy and so is every developer with whom I've tried to talk

Seriously though, I've got my self a full plate with an 8-6 job, night classes towards my master's, and the wife n' kids. If I was already a good lua programmer, I'd just work it out, alas I am not nor do I have the time to learn if I'm to fulfill my responsibilities and make time to at least get some time in the BG's and Arena.

So for those of you interested, because I know there are a few, pm me with the email you want the file sent to and I will send you the most recent version of ArcHud2 that included Party.Lua

I hope you'll make greater progress.
