All started with a silly loot from MC. Nobody questioned why paladin bids on thunderfury, but I took the second drop for us. For minbid+2. With the knowledge to farm 100 arcanite bars.

The second half never ever dropped for me. Bad luck.
Than one day I was standing in IF and what I saw? 3 Thunderfurrys. One running to AH, one sitting next to me, one is banking. And later I saw warrior with greens and legendary. The lucky bastard...
I'm from a casual weekend raidgroup. Happy with my full T2, nice AQ loots and to reach C'thun 2nd phase twice. That is all for me. While HC players downed Naxx, casual players were running with full T2 and legendary. Rare loots. Everybody in WoW had rare loots. If you didn't raid but had 300g than you could have BoE T1 (still rare quality)
BC came out.
I'm still casual.
I'm doing heroics sometimes, and have a nice heal gear. Missing +300 healing and I'm maxed out. T5 will pimp me only with the gems.
Do I deserv T5? or do I need it? Sure! I'm a raider.
Blizzard said NO.
Casual? Lolz. Do heroics with your friends.
Face with the problem your guild split up. (I need this insta to get revered vs I did that 100times in heroic, won't go there anymore)
Raid instances? Ok, we give you 2 ones.
Is Karazhan hard? is there any complicated fight?
No.
Romulo ganked our semi decked warrior from 12k HP to death. 4th boss? Lol.
What can a casual raid do in this case? Gear up warriors. And with them, everybody else.
From Heroics. (well, we are right there where Blizz planned us)
We slayed Maulgar (everybody rolled 100).
In that fight I used 4x manapots and 1 dreamless sleep.
And all buff under the sun but flasks.
I did the same at 1st Neffy gank! With 1rank lower pots! In semi T1/T2.
We got hand of Neffy and shiny upgrades!
We got nothing upgrade from King Maulgar!
Will I ever do a bossfight like this without any pots?
And in BC raid? One misstake is a wipe.
What come next?

Do I really need to raid and do mindless farming for it?
Epix sets will be uniq for HC raiders.
There won't be more nuub pala like me in full T4-5-6-7-8-9.
Or Legendary festival at the bank.
HC players, who has all the playskill and time to practice/prepare will have.
I stay in WoW.
But really don't know why.
Just after my 2 beloved priestess left this world.
Nothing left.
