When I look at your post, I'm just not getting the same feeling that I get from other, better posts. If you look at other posts, there are obvious attempts to make coherent points, testable assertions, or provide worthwhile feedback. I don't think that you're doing this intentionally, but I still think these types of issues merit some discussion.
Original Post:
Can anyone comment on the RP generation that's provided by Magic Suppression? How much of a difference does 1 talent point make versus 3? I'm trying to get on the PTR now to test this myself, but the site is apparently down atm.

-edit: And just to add on to my question above, I have a few concerns about the state that DK's currently find themselves in on the PTR and Cata development.

First of all, this has nothing to do with numbers, or how our damage or mitigation matches up to X or Y class. I have not tested any of this, so not only can I not accurately comment on them, but the numbers themselves are rather inconsequential to me. Blizzard will eventually tweak them to make us balanced against the spectrum of other classes and specs.

However, what I do find concerning is the relative lack of 'coolness' that our specs currently posses. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the entire goal of this talent revamp was to eliminate "boring" talents and replace them with "cool" ones, right? Well, certain classes and specs have achieved this in my opinion. For example, the Retribution tree for Paladins is just oozing with cool talents, that are not only useful and performance oriented, but also achieve the "cool" status that Blizzard was aiming for.

But when I look at our talent trees, I'm just not getting the same feeling I get from other classes. At this point, I think they just sort of shaved off the talents they didn't want us to have, and kept just the bland dps increasing talents that are necessary to keep us competitive in raids. If you look at other classes, there are obvious attempts to consolidate talents, or mold them into new ones, thus freeing up precious talent points, and making them more 'cool'. Look no further than the Communion talent for Ret. This used to take multiple talent points to achieve, but now it has been Cataclysm'd, and consolidated into 1 point. Now of course we don't need a Communion ability, but I think some of our talents could get a similar face lift.

Now I don't think this is being done intentionally by Blizzard. After all, with the massive changes they're doing to the environment and gameplay, coupled with their attempt to essentially redesign and balance 30 different classes at the same time, a couple classes and specs are bound to fall through the cracks. And I'm sure in time whatever issues the DK class may face will be addressed. Nevertheless, I still think these types of issues merit at least some discussion.

Again, I don't care about the numbers, I just want some more flavor added to our trees. The recent Dark Transformation addition is a perfect example of what I was expecting when the intentions of the Cata talent tree plans were announced. This is a talent that will surely lead to a dps increase, but is first and foremost a cool talent that I actually look forward to spending points in. I think if some more talents are reworked and given a Dark Transformation treatment, then we'll be on our way to achieving the goals Blizzard has set for the new talent trees.

Does anyone else feel this way about the current state of DK's and our talent trees?
