My personal observations about your post:

1) Shit I already know
2) Shit I already know
3) Shit I already know
4) Shit I already know

Elementary question? Plea for hand-holding? Statement of opinion without factual support.

My personal general observations about the secondary stats and some synergies:

1) Haste increases throughput but decreases mana efficiency. Haste has litte affect when paired with Mastery since the shields rewrite if new one is bigger and don't stack. Haste paired with crit will cause more crits since you're casting more spells. Haste paired with Spirit will offset some of the mana inefficiency.

2) Crit increases throughput but since it is random and uncontrollable it might increase overheal. Crit has no effect on mana in Cataclysm. So Crit and Spirit don't really synergize with each other. Crit paired with haste will cause more crits due to more spells. Crit seems most powerful paired with Mastery, causing bigger shields and absorbing noticeable amounts. Assuming 15% shield (7 pts of mastery) a 7k heal will leave a 1050 damage shield which isn't much with 150k health pools. But a 30k crit will leave a 4500 damage shield, which can be a decent chunk of a melee hit on a tank.

3) Spirit is our one and only mana regen stat now, but I haven't seen too much math on how much spirit a pally will reasonably need at 85. Spirit is more of a stand alone stat, helping offset Haste inefficiency but having no direct effect on Crit or Mastery.

4) Mastery is a nice little perk but not something that will make me change how I heal just to benefit from it since the shields overwrite and don't stack. (ie I will not stop casting just to let the shield be taken off by damage before casting another heal.) As mentioned in the previous points, it has no direct connection to Spirit, is ok with Haste if damage is quick coming, and can make significant shields if stacked with Crit.

So with that basic breakdown, what should we be reforging to? Most if not all of our gear is going to come with Spirit now, but how much is too much Spirit? Will be typically reforge Spirit to something else? Are we going to be stumbling over that much mana? At first glimpse, Crit paired with Mastery looks to cause noticeable damage reduction on top of our strong single target HPS. I personally think that Spirit remains the unknown unproven stat that we might underestimate since we haven't had to use it at all until this point. So my initial plan is to leave Spirit as it is and reforge Haste to Crit until 25-30% Crit before shifting to Mastery. As soon as I see I have no mana issues when paired with Replinishment and buffs/flasks/food then I won't hesitate to send Spirit to the wind as well.

My first signifcant post here so any feedback, thoughts, flaws in my logic are much appreciated.
