Considering in the current T11 gear simcrafts destro is about 1k dps behind Aff, I assume that stat allocations are far from optimal for destro with the used T11 set. Is it perhaps possible to see if any gearpieces could be shuffled around (and some gem / reforge changes) to optimize Destro more with the current known drops?

The problem is the gradual incline from affliction vs. the plateau of destruction. It's very easy to hit that first plateau for destruction, its beyond that where it becomes problimatic. With 4000 combat rating points, its not going to be possible to touch that number in the first set of tier gear. Perhaps later on, but even then I'd severely doubt it without sacrificing intel at that point and gemming for it. The gradual incline of affliciton is going to provide the best in damage until you can reach the second tick of immolate for destruction, or atleast according to my eyes that is.
