Well, it isn't so much a question of other guilds liking it or not. My guild is rather hated on our server because we tend to do things like gank people at every occasion, mind control people off ledges, hold quest NPC hostages, stalk people cybering and post SS on realm forums (including our own guildmates!), etc etc...

I just avoid doing it because I wouldn't feel OK trying to socially engineer situations for my own advancement at the expense of other people. I think different people would probably find my guild's behaviour abhorrent but have absolutely no problem with actively trying to cherry pick other guilds best players.
