What kills me about Blizzard is that I would bet a large amount of money that steady shot will end up being buffed slightly. This will be done FAR down the road, months after it was entirely obvious it needed to be buffed. They will buff it and believe they made hunters fun again. When a steady/auto rotation is about as fun as playing solitaire.
If you are unhappy with your hunters (as I was) quit. Reroll or quit Warcraft because believing that Blizzard will fix problems that have existed for 2+ years is naive. When hasn't hunter gear been an issue? BWL and AQ40 had TERRIBLE loot tables for hunters. Tier gear was all we ever had. Why are you still waiting for pet viability after 2 years? Back when I was a raid leader hunters were my favorite DPS to bring. We had some very good ones that were self-sufficient and (most importantly in BWL/AQ40) didn't peel. Peeling isn't an issue anymore. So what use do you envision Blizzard to come up with besides another tranq shot boss? It isn't coming.
I'm glad that I quit wow 2 months ago. What is especially hilarious is that even if I did come back I wouldn't be behind in gear since upgrades are so minimal. I'm only an epic bow away from being par with those who have been raiding since release.
I enjoy theorycrafting and talking about a game that I played for 2 years. That's why I still hang around forums and such despite not playing anymore. My only concern is that there are still some hunters who aren't being honest with themselves. Salvation isn't coming. Blizzard will slowly release bandaids only to break another part of us shortly after. Quit or reroll now.
I quit because on top of knowing the magic hunter fix was never coming, I was also disgusted at seeing the development team so pro-occupied fixing mistakes they repeated for the upteeth time in the new instances. How many weeks do you want to waste clearing fast respawning trash before you finally admit it's not fun anymore, it's turned into a habit you need to break.
