I have a question. Is it really best to use rupture with 378 gear? I have a bit more then 2000 mastery rating, so it gives me 67% more damage with poisons without counting Vile Poisons which provides an additional 36%. Envenom damage is poison damage, that's what the tool tip says, so i did a little test on the dummy, had no buffs at all, just poisons and i went to hit the Raider's Training Dummy in SW. After hitting it for ~5 minutes I checked my damage on recount. (at this point i had Rupture glyph) What i have noticed is that average rupture tick (non-crit) was 731 damage which multiplied by 10 is 7310 damage was average rupture (non-crit), while I also checked my average Envenom hit was 16247 (non-crit). So I came to a conclusion that it might be better to always Envenom instead of Rupture since it does much more damage for the same combo points spent, furthermore if you aren't using Rupture then there is no need to use Glyph of Rupture, so instead you can use Glyph of Vendetta (Glyph of Rupture is better yes, but if you aren't using Rupture the glyph is waste obviously). I didn't take the crits in consideration because both Rupture and Envenom had about the same crit chance (Envenom had slightly higher crit chance but that is because of Cold Blood)
While performing this test i was using the standard rotation (which is written on this forum). All the Rupture and Envenoms were performed on 4 or 5 CP.
Does any of this make sense? Or am I making a big mistake? Maybe it will be totally different in raid, I didn't test it in raid yet, i just tested it on a dummy 20 minutes ago when the idea struck my mind. Please share your opinions.
