Make a maximum of normal/heroix instances, make you 7 hero per week (you can make them the same day) to gain your max 980 VP and also up your justice points.
Once you have enouh you should start by buying 359 gear with your justice points and 378 with your valor. In addiotion you will pick lot of 346 in heroic. Once you have a mix of 346 + some 359 and few 378 you can start to go to any normal raid (for firelands it will depend on your team ^^)
At a first start...maxmimize your int (mean your stuff ilevel) ^^
