Hello, I play a disc priest on Argent Dawn EU, it's name is Mimicik. My guild took down ragnaros last week, and this week we killed shannox on hc diffulicy. My gear is.. good but I have reforged away all spirit I possible can because I never find myself in desperate need of mana, and still I pull between 14 and 16k hps avarage and Im always between 30 and 40 % of the healing done on most fights. ( I am not counting baleroc because it's a special fight.)
I know there are a lot of guides on internet saying you should stack as much spirit as possible as discipline, but I found myself in the situation that I had 90k mana left when we killed Shannox on hc diffulicy and I was healing the MT with around 16k hp/s. And I can't imagine how much mana I would have if I had around 2500 to 3k spirit. I currently have less then 1,5k spirit...
One player gave me the argument: "If you use a lot of spirit you can cast more spells and do more healing." And yes, that's true, but casting a lot of Heal and Greater heal usually makes you overheal a lot.
Im just asking you math-guys if you could give me a good reason why to stack so much spirit. Don't bombard me with numbers, give me a calculation and then please explain it with words
