This is basically a glorified help me play post which really isn't the point of our forums. You also provided a lot of irrelevant blog-type background which made your post about twice as long as it needed to be. If you have a question for a specific person, PM them. If you have a basic question, use the SQA thread. Thanks.

I didn't just use stamina gems.)

I see that you "only" killed Morchok in HM (hope you don't mind browsing your armory, I just wanted to know in what context you were asking ^^) so you should be fine for the next encouters with mastery gems. Maybe just swap your mastery trinket for a stamina one on Yor'Sahj HM.

Regarding mastery cap, I happened to see some TC about it, talking about some inner DR (as avoidance lowers the efficiency of the mastery obviously) but I didn't look much into it yet. My feeling (so nothing very formal) is that the randomness of avoidance make this "DR" disappear as in HM you just want a reliable mitigation (so the biggest shield as possible) when taking a damage spike.

(Again : I didn't look much into it and it's quite old so I don't know how reliable it is.)

Finally : there was a simulator (Bloodsim) but it's not up to date.

Longtime lurker, first time poster here, but I have a small question.

From your post here, I gather that as you've progressed through hard modes you've tempted to "cap" your mastery around the 3k area, and started to reforge/gem into avoidance/stamina stats and you have found that is much better than continuing to put stats into mastery.

After reading your post, I switched almost all my gems to mastery/stam ones in yellows and blues. My mastery is still rather high at about 3.7k which to me seems way high compared to yourself and other hard mode deathknights. My guild is around Hagara and Ultrox progression, and I wondered if it is most likely best to move stats to the direction you are going with Stamina and avoidance after around 3k mastery.

I apologize if the question I'm asking is the very question you answer in my quote, but I just wanted a small clarification.
